Up and coming 'XDA's' - About xda-developers.com

Hi,
It's June 2007 and I would like to find facts, rumours etc or up and coming XDA's, beyond what models are shown on the main page.
Is there such a section?
Thanks
Anne

WM6 from HTC at last?

Well I do realize that we have been dissapointed by HTC Europe in the past, but here is an email just in from them.
Good Afternoon B****,
"Thank you for contacting HTC Europe regarding Windows Mobile 6. Sorry for the delayed response.
As we pointed out earlier the WM6 will be available in Europe during the next few weeks and as it looks it will then be available for download from out HTC Europe website."
"For further information on our Windows Mobile 6 update strategy, including which devices will receive the update, please see the following link.
http://www.europe.htc.com/z/pdf/press/WM6_statement_v6.pdf
Once released, they should be availble for download from the support section of the htc website. "
"We are aware of the problems with the memory card and as you say, this has been solved in Windows Mobile 6, which is one of the reasons we decided to release widows Mobile 6 for the TyTN device."
Should they not come up with the goodies, I am sure Leaf Wireless will.
The vibe in SA is a release date during July 2007
Sounds good.... not sure the rom will be as good at the chefs here....

At least that will give them a nice clean base ROM to start cooking from.
The playing fields will be levelled for all the cooks to have a field day.
ain't that the truth.....

They didn't really say "widows" did they? That's funny.
I also noticed that HTC has quietly changed their geographic regions as well. It used to be "Europe and South Africa", now it is "Europe" and "Middle East & Africa". You're supposed to be getting your support from Dubai (or somewhere thereabouts) now!

Any news on HTC version of WM6?

Does anyone know the latest or expected date for the generic HTC version of the WM6 rom?
cheers
I've called HTC Europe yesterday. They answer me the rom could be available at end of Juni or July.
(sorry for my english)
thanks for the reply, but bad news now July is getting mentioned :-(
cheers
Gus
ok, sorry. Where do you find this news ? (for my information)
umm, you gave me it??
I called them too... They confirmed that they 'hoped' that it would come out still in June... But no more specific information other then in the already existing press release in regard to WM6 in general on their website.
Frustrating, that the branded devices 'go first', and that it's merely a political issue not to release the upgrade yet...
If at least a 'decent' expectation would be set, one could choose between the unlocking and the WM6 version of T-Mobile...

Same thing, I called UK hotline and they mentioned somewhere between the last week of june and the first one of july.
It's very frustrating, I've got six I'd like to update and have already been down the unsuccessful road of using the T-Mobile ROM.
I wish HTC would get their skates on with this for people who have been brand loyal to HTC instead of buying a carrier specific model (Dash, etc).

HTC Panda/P6300 - Device Specific Forum

Hello All (& Mods)
Do you think we could have a section for the HTC Panda.
I am currently testing this device looking to replace our 300+ Qtek 2020is, so far so good, all applications developed for thr 2020i are working perfectly with the Panda,
our 2 remaining issues are;
1. There are not many accessories available as yet for the device (car cradle etc)
2. I want to connect to a GPS receiver but not via bluetooth as this introduces another "issue" for our end users, we currently use the carcomm cradle and PS2 receiver, this would be ideal if/when they become available.
If someone could create a new section for this device, I'm sure more and more people will find it useful as this model starts to roll out
TIA
Damian
I'll second that request. I just ordered a Panda today.
I'll third that request as I just got one and will be on the way
Battery Life
Hi, Does anyone have any experience of battery life on these 6300
P6300
Hello, I'm new here (PL). Currently I'm searching for a new device for me and Panda seems to have all I need, as far, except HTML e-mail.
Yes, I also think its time to have separate forum for P6300.
I hope to see info about WM6 for Panda soon , then I'm going for shopping.
Regards
Filip
I agree, we started rolling out the Panda (o2 Argon's) in June this year, we shall be rolling out some 2000 devices (giving Police Officers Electronic Notebooks), so a specific forum to discuss this model would make sense.
Absolutely. Let's have a dedicated P6300 forum.
yes, we need a forum section for panda
See this hasn't happened yet - admins/mods can we please have a dedicated forum for the Panda/6300 ?
Hello Everybody,
I'm new here, but followign the foras for a year or so. Will 2008 be the year to initiate Panda dedicated forum? Said it to refresh the issue.
Panda seems to be cool, got it 2 days now.
Cheers,
chemou
i have pushed for this feb 2008 and no responce, how come this has not happened?
We're rolling out approx 30 Pandas this month. Could do with a place to discuss any issue, check on updates etc
BUMP...
Any news on this.
I have been asking this for months in different threads but no response.
any mods want to comment as there are about 5 threads asking this now?
nudge nudge - just bought one of these from the UK to use in OZ, my last employer in the UK is rolling out thousands of these things.
C'mon mods - Give us a Panda/6300 Specific Forum
I just bought a HTC P6300.. Hope a forum is set up to understand more about this..
Panda P6300 specific forum
Please create a Panda specific post.
This is a great machine. I'm surprised there are not more post on this site about the Panda.
I'm very happy but it is abuot time to move from WM5 to 6 6.1
Yes...make a specific forum!....I'll be a happy owner of a panda in a few days and i have just realized that there is not a forum in xda developers and that it's running wm5 :/ and no update is available........

HD2 with Android in Jan 10?

Hi there guys, i currently work for Tmob UK and was talking to a HTC rep in regards to when we would be getting the HD2 to start selling, apparantly it should be any time within the next two weeks, wondering if anyone within the trade had heard this?
Also as we spoke about the HD2 i couldnt help but tell her that i was still deciding on that or the X10 Sony Ericsson (rachael), she mentioned there would be a surprise in Jan...
HTC will "apparantly" drop a HD2 onto the market with Android running on it, spec sheet was the same and from what she again said, it would look almost identical to the HD2, just to give consumers the option of which OS to use.
just wanted to give the forum a shout out to what id heard
graph1uk
I work for Tmobile usa and had talked to an HTC rep. He had said we are also getting a snapdragon processor phone in Jan but wasn't specific on what because of the proprietary information. but according to engaget and HTC's CEO it will be windows mobile.

Guys, the forthcoming on April 2010, Android handset which will be finally called as HTC Bravo has nothing to do with the picture which was circulation over the net for quite a while. The device looks great from any point of view and as member nizzon correctly stated before, i can confirm to all of you, that the rounded red-coloured trackball will be between the buttons at the bottom of the device. The device is slim with perfect design and with really nice specs.
Wrongly many stated that Bravo is the Android side of Leo (HD2) as the only same feature which is maintained from Leo is the Snapdragon QSD 8250 1GHz CPU and many others have been added in advanced as the HD 720p Video caprure.
Will post you shortly exclusively 1-2 pictures to have a look, along with the offcial specs known so far

32 Gb micro sdhc

saw this page from a link on another forum... thought you guys might be interested...
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/sandisk-microsd-card-32gb-p20431.htm
so what are your thoughts? will it work with our phone? it's not listed at the bottom of the seller's page, but i dont think they're considering that many of us are running windows mobile 6.1 or 6.5.
as you can see this is a pre-order page, the item in question wont actually be released to the public until april 20th, 2010.
the price is a little high, so personally i'll wait and see, but im interested in the community's thoughts on this subject.

As indicated by the vendor, it will be compatible with the Excalibur(S620). Yes, the price is a little high, but if wait for a while the price will eventually goes down
