Video player? For narutoooooo - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Who knows which is better?? coreplayer or the tcpmp player better? This is mostly used to play naruto....Last time stupid ATI settings cannot play naruto....now also nto so stable, but wondering which works best with our WM6 hermer??

heh?!?
you mean japanesse anime Naruto ナルト ?
I think its no matter, I guess you want to play it from youtube, and here on this forum you can find a lot info about suitable player for flash on youtube. or if it is standallone files, then it is some kind of divx codec used, so what exactly is a problem? Do you think that is a difference between Naruto, or Bleach or any other anime? I mean all of them must work correctly on PDA...

RMVB on Excalibur. Does it work?

I´ve tried this (a guide posted) and this (Mplayer smartphone port).
Unfortunately, none of them worked. So.. is it really possible to watch RMVB files? If someone says so and points me to the right direction, I´ll keep Dexter and Supernatural updated!
Regards

Not sure about playing RMVB but you could always convert on computer to MP4 as Dexter is worth the conversion time
Will look into RMVB player but think above will be option.

To be honest never converted an RMVB as back in the day there was no way except silly long ways, i stick to AVI as have an hardware Divx player, will have a look into Xilisoft as then that would be one less thing to think about
"The smiley shouldn't be formated" lol

Yes... Xilisoft is the one... However, let me say that playback experience is by far much better in Coreplayer than Mediaplayer. I haven´t tried TCPMP, so, I don´t know if it works on it. (I just thought that this is one less soft to install)
Anyway.. about my initial issue, NO! Excalibur can´t play RMVB. But it can play Mp4 (I should know it...but... anyway).
Once it can play Mp4, use Xilisoft video converter and Coreplayer to watch it! Or... if you own one... use iPod to watch videos on the go!
Regards!

Yep CorePlayer should be defacto video player for everyone have not found anything come close as TCPMP was the early version of CorePlayer "Freeware" the codecs are old and not as refined as CorePlayer, WMP just sux @ doing anything, thanks for the info regards Xillisoft what's it like for AVI to MP4 quality wise?

[request] .flv player???

Anyone got a working one??
Did you try these:
Youtube Player (freeware): play some kind of FLV videos, but not everyone. It's depends of the codification!
TCPMP: for this app there's an plugin to execute this kind of videos.
if you want, i can send this files to your e-mail! Or u can use Google!
that'd be ace. I have TCPMP and youtubeplayer, TCMP won't play it though and youtubeplayer plays it but really laggily lol. ill try the addon
re
hello,
i use coreplayer for this, but unfortunately no support for codec On2 VP6
installed the addon but nothings changed TCPMP can't play it lol
A custom version of TCMP called TCMP Project 5500 plays On2 VP6 coded videos. It supports Touch HD, too, although there are some minor interface glitches.
downloaded that and it works but how come some flv videos and other file types are really laggy when they play - it's really annoying, any explanations?
I just reduced the reproducing speed, (less than 100%) , using GDI, it works...
Yeah I have been reading it. So many people seem to have this problem. Most people are on their 4th replacement and still no luck.
I also have a faint flicker when loading market it's not that noticeable. Not sure if it will get worst like others have experienced.
What are you going to do El? Are you going to send it back

hermes video viewing

sorry if this is the wrong place to post but i am a noob, is there a peice of software out there that can play all types of video on the hermes, if so were can i download it
Coreplayer or tmpc... Use search to find...
hey ... core player is what ur looking for. it can play any type of media without converting it .. eats some resources but its very worth it. it also has streaming support and everything. just google search it and ur there. hope this helps
thx so i can now watch anytype of video format and i dont have to convert it,but are all media file types the same size
If you are playing what I think you might be playing then even with Coreplayer the Hermes will not smoothly play standard definition stuff, i.e average 2.35 widescreen DVDRip done at 640*272 with Xvid around 1000kbps (Mgeg4-ASP). Don't even think about x264 films. (Mpeg4-AVC)
The Hermes screen is 320*240 so you will have to convert it.

TCPMP vs Core player

what are the major differences between The Core Pocket Media Player(TCPMP) & core player,i know one is free & one is paid bt whts the major difference?
Supposedly CorePlayer has more features like youtube integration (useless IMO when we have a youtube app) and supports more file types.
For my purposes I have found that TCPMP is best because it plays anything I need it to play (flv's for the most part) and there's a beautiful fully working WVGA skin for it, while Coreplayer is stuck on QVGA graphics unless you find a WVGA skin that acutally works, which I really haven't. There's a GTX skin that kind of works.
But for flat functionality, CorePlayer is better because it has support for more file types. What those types are exactly I couldn't tell you because I haven't ran into one yet that TCPMP won't play.

but sir whn i play flv on tcpmp it doesnt work good,i mean thesound playes well bt the video goes on very slow
Core Player youtube looks sharper (if you set that up) than the regular player.
I like Core Player for must things but some higher quality files may need Windows Media player or HTC player since they use the hardware playback.
I have a nice Transformers file for example that Core player can barely play skipping all the time.
I still use it very often.

I have not experienced this but I supposed it depends on quality of the video, size, frame rate, etc... Usually I download videos from youtube to play with TCPMP and they work to perfection.
For a lot of WMV files, I found coreplayer to be faster. When drag across progress bar, the seek speed is much faster.

[Q] TCPMP settings

I use the Energy rom and discovered TCPMP player but i can't get video's playing smoothly, so wondering if someone here can play video's well on their mobile..
Maybe i convert video's in the wrong format but they do play well on the mediaplayer.

We're still waiting for TCPMP to get hardware acceleration, while Windows Media Player has it, that's why your video works in WMP but stutters in TCPMP... As far as I know there isn't a version of TCPMP that supports hardware acceleration but I may be wrong...
you're not wrong
