Blueooth activation and announce calls over the Hermes speaker. I tried the Faria ROM, and it announces calls on the speaker but the headset activation does not work. I have tried several others and the headset activation works with the patch but the announce callers over the speaker does not. Anyone have both working. (Note, not announcing calls over bluetooth as I know that does not work)
thanks
If i am correct the faria rom has the newer voice command version which is not available as a stand alone cab or application? sure wish it was though!
Yes but even with Faria only one of the two worked. Bluetooth inititation did not
Shhhh...
M$ VC is not freeware so discussing it as being cooked into ROMS is not a good idea...

I am getting a little worried here.
It is advertised everywhere that the xda IIs has voice dial, which to me reffers to me talking into a bt headset and it calls that contact.
If this is not possible, can fonix ispeak sort it?
The device comes with fonix voicedial software, but it does not work through the headset. I have my MDAIII mounted on the windscreen in the car and manage to use voicedial to make calls with over 90% accuracy and then talk through my jabra bt headset.
Which unit do you have PDA2K or IIs? I haven't seen any postings yet comparing the two devices, O2 may have addressed some BT issues before launching the IIs.
I won't have one (IIs, already have PDA2K) till next week.
getting the 2's next week. new officail date is the 15th nov. so should recieve it on the 16th
So what does it take to make this work? is it impossible. Can we not do something?
it take it that this product is using the mic hardware and not bluetooth mic?

Anyone come acrross this before: (scroll down to Kai’s Bluetooth Headset Patch 2004 )
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/_archives/sep04/bluetooth.asp
could something simular be done on the xda's
Or is this something where only ever going to get to use with bluetooth v2?
read this an help me please

Its good to see progress being made but the main problem still is a hard ware based. The mic and speaker in phone hardware need to be bridged with the ppc... which gets me thinking.....as we can speak into ppc and listen to the caller then once we BT the call it was bridge/switch it.... dont understand why something so simple and a much required feature is missing :?
Hi,
I have installed the trial version of MS command and it seems to be doing the trick... I have a qtek 9090 and I did not see any installed software for voice dialing... Is it only on PDA2K?
Thanks.

MS Command doesn't support bluetooth headsets either.
From the MS blurb: "Bluetooth Headset Support - Voice Command does not support using a Bluetooth headset to initiate a voice command but you can use a Bluetooth headset during the phone conversation."
So its the same as fonix. You have to speak the dialling command into the device, and it only transfers to the bluetooth headset when the device starts dialling out. If you can put up with that, fonix works pretty well.

Well as much as I was looking forward to getting a PDA2K or SX-66, I feel that this is a MAJOR drawback that has me thinking twice. I read that your cannot initiate VOICE calls using a BlueTooth headset no matter what software you are running. Is this accurate?
If so, then why can the Audiovox SMT5600 do it by the way of voice tags?
Thanks,
Frank
Previous ms smartphones and pocket pc phones have not supported the bluetooth handsfree profile which would allow voice dialling. Since the new devices now support it its up to the software developers to implement it in their software. For example, using my SE HBH-200 on my imate PDA2K i can initiate voice dialling on the headset but on the imate there is nothing to interface with. If the Audiovox can do it there is no reason why a more powerful pocket pc cant do it as well
Hi all!
After spending about 45 minutes searching through the various threads, and educating myself with all the VC1.6 issues, I am left with one question:
On a WM6 8525, with NO bluetooth headset (Just straight ahead through the PocketPC speakers)....
...has anyone got it to announce incoming calls and appointments?
Many of the other threads discuss issues with the Bluetooth headset.
I don't have a BT headset, so I am just concerned with incoming calls.
Is there a fix for this (registry hack or otherwise), or must we wait for a patch from MSFT?
Thanks guys!
Mike

With WM6 announcement of incoming calls does not work. It is an issue with WM6.
um thats not true. its a issue with the hermes/tytn.. it works fine on my wiza200 but refuses to work on my hermes
My 8525
Well with my 8525 WITH my bt headset it still announces everything, just thru the phone speaker(even though I have it checked to only do it thru bt headset). So I think that it will announce them over your phone for you.

Calendar announcements works fine. Haven't set up incoming calls cause i would rather look at the screen for those and use caller id.
Mark
Thanks for the clarification, Mark.
I stand corrected.
I just set up a test appointment and indeed it announced it.
On the other hand, no luck with incoming calls through the PPC speakers.
I guess its confirmed, then. No luck with an 8525 and VC 1.6.
We shall await a patch or a new build!
Thanks!
Mike
On my 8525 with WM6...
Caller ID announces just fine through built in speakers.
All announcements and calendar warnings announce through built-in speakers.
In short, no issues through built-in speakers.
Via bluetooth, things get spotty. I have the phone set to only announce through built-in.
As always, your mileage may vary, but mine works fine.

Yes, it works on the [faria] version, it start with the normal ring and then lowers the volume and play the contacts name(you must enable from settings).

I can confirm this. It also does not work the the Cingy WM5 Rom. It did work with faria.
doesnt work on black or custel's either.. seems to only be working on farias so far..
edited..wrong info
Is Faria's WM6 still the only one?
Any of the recent WM6 roms get the incoming call announcements to work?
vc 1.6 works just fine on my 8525. after configuring it, it announces incoming calls.
i am currently running vp3g's 3.62 ROM.
There is a version of VC 1.6 on this forum I think that does annouce incoming caller. It works for me on Schap 3.60a whereas the previous on of 1.6 I tried did not. The problem with this one was that it didn't allow me to control with my Jawbone anymore.
I just tried several Wm6 roms on both my Trinity and Hermes. It seems all the new RTM roms now work correctly with the earpiece speaker using VOIP on the Hermes, this is using CUSTEL VOIP.cab and/or built in VOIP in the various Hermes RTM roms. However on the Trinity we get no sound alot of times, and when we do it sounds on the back speaker and doesnt work with bluetooth unlike the hermes. ANyone know why this is?

not sure... how about asking on the trinity forums instead of the hermes forums ???
Both Hermes and Trinity are amongst the supported devices in AGEphone Mobile 2.5 Speakerphone Edition! Forget about the crappy internal client and use a real softphone
VOIP Blutooth Hermes
I got a Herme's and i Just got VOIP to work. (SIP, Vbuzzer)
but when i dial out with it, i dont have any sound comming through my Bluethooth headset
(Blacks 3.1 rom)
To make your BT-headset work with the current version of AGEphone, please follow the following instructions:
There is no official support for Bluetooth Headsets yet, but you can make most of them work with AGEphone using a little hack. There is no need to change the audio device in AGEphone for this at the moment. You only have to use a little tool called "BTAudioToggle.exe". For further information about this utility please refer to this thread. The package you can download there contains "BTAudioOn.exe" / "BTAudioOff.exe", but using "BTAudioToggle.exe" does the job just fine. Once you have downloaded the utility please go to "Settings - Other" and give AGEphone the path to the "BTAudioToggle.exe" file there for "Execute on Connect" and "Execute on Disc." without any further parameters. If your BT headset is paired properly with your phone AGEphone will automatically switch output and input to the device whenever you accept a call. It's probably of note that BTAudioToggle.exe only works with the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack.
This allows you to use the headset not only with AGEphone Mobile but any other program. I hope it helps!
hi all,
i'm having issues with my agephone mobile 2.64. i'm connecting it with gizmo5 and grandcentral and my hermes.
i call grandcentral, agephone shows that it has a call (no sound), i accept (still no sound), press one (cause i know i need to press 1), then the call connects.
but there is no audio in both ends, i can't hear the other side and i can't talk to the other side.
any one know if a way to fix this?
Earpiece workig ?
The new version is here:

After trying 3 diffrent wm6 roms i still had little luck with voip in wm6..
i tried bepes rom..pdaviet rom in all roms i cant hear any voice neighter the other party can hear me...sometime i can hear some voice but for like 5sec then it get silent
i also have one hermes and strangely all wm6 rom i tried in that device has wonderful support for voip including voice over earpieces not through speaker phone...
so i was wondering whats the problem with trinity???
do anyone haveany comment on that and have any solution??
Thanks
I would like to add more....
now i found that actually voip work regardless of rom and *.dll file i use...it only work if i use the headset then i can use audio in both way not only that if i remove the headphone after initiating a call then the call routed to sets speaker and i can talk without headphone...but thats a silly trick to use...
anyways anyone have any comment on that????
can anyone post cab for my tp2? thank you
I would like to have this CAB too, missing voicedailing on my TP2
I try this , it work well on mic of phone, but it don't work on BT activate.

How come the bluetooth does not work? is it due to a setting of the phone, or just not possible? because I installed the voice dailer and it works, however when I try to start the voice dailing with my BT headset it does notting. I have to manually call someone. On the diamond, which I had before this one, this worked flawlessly.
So does anyone know anything about this, or should I use a different tool to use voice dialing with my BT headset?

Check Registry Settings:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"VoiceCmdEnable"=dword:00000000
"LaunchAPEnable"=dword:00000000
Hope it helps!
