d
can anyone offer any help?

Hi there, since I don't have any computer with windows vista, I wouldn't wanted to answer, but, since I also have been int this situation (when I asked for something else), well, here we go.
In your place I would first test the headphones with another computer, at least one that doesn't have vista, XP is well proven with bluetooth devices, as long as you do follow the exact instructions of the external BT dongle (if this is the case), why? Well XP stack does not work on many BT devices, so the maker of those, warns and explains you how to disable XP drivers and how to install theirs.
I've tested my HT820s long time ago, with a USB BT dongle (about 9 euro) and they worked the best I ever heard (considering that I bought them from a chinese Ebay seller and I'm pretty sure that they are a fake, or should I say, a copy of the original), the stack used for this BT dongle is a very well known one, the bluesoleil stack.
Then, you could pass on and try with vista, check your BT interface maker's site, check (if any) vista driver updatings, etc.
Hope this helps.

Seiko Smartpad and XDA

Has anybody managed to get the smartpad 2E working with xda? wwwsiibusinessproducts.com
i got it working with the xda2 with out a problem
I have a Seiko InkLink, which works fine with the PCA over USB, but I can't get the infra-red clip-on to work with the XDA2.
I've gone to connections and made sure that "Receive Incoming Beams" was checked, and I've fooled around with changing the COM ports (which one is it supposed to be?), but aside from that, can't think what else to do. Anyone any ideas?
Oh, and another thing.
When I run the InkLink software, the XDA soft-resets itself after a few minutes. If I don't run the InkLink software, it runs fine, so I strongly suspect the software isn't quite right.
This is all on the XDA2. I haven't tried with XDA1. Maybe its a WM2003 thing?
i have the same problem. it works with the desktop but not the xda2.
The ir lights up on the device that clips to the top of the A4pad and the light changes speed when I write but nothing appears on the XDA2 screen. I have tried running the test program but I get a message stating the IR port (i assume it means the XDA2 port) is being used by another program but I dont have anything else running in the background.
receive beam is turned on - i have tried it both on and off. My XDA2 has reset itself a couple of times since installing the software - so i have given up and removed it.
i wonder if there is another program installed that is effecting things.
any clues ?
There is something screwy about the irda on the xda1 and the xda2, if you install tomtom2 on the ipaq and look for the ports available, you see the com ports and also generic infrared port, I have an infrared adaptor which allows me to use gps on ipaq 1910 which doesnt have a serial port, however trying to do the same with xda, all thats offered is infrared port, choose that and the machine locks. I wonder if other pda's besides xda1 and 2 allocate the irda to a virtual port. I have asked about this numerous times here on the forum and scoured the web but to no avail.
After various teething problems, it now works flawlessly on my XDA2, and I'm really very impressed.
I've no idea why InkLink was resetting my machine, but I think maybe it was because I had the wrong port selected and it was just picking up rubbish from an unconnected port. Still shouldn't crash, but anyway, it works if you connect to the right port.
Also, I think the batteries they supply with it only last 5 minutes. Having replaced them, my troubles seem to be over.
Only fault is the general hassle factor of the IR clip. If there was a bluetooth version, it would be so much better (provided the bluetooth worked!)

I'm dying to know how you made it work?
I don't think I did anything specific.
I think the most likely thing was I finally selected the correct COM port. You need to select COM1, and this won't be available if you have something else using that port (such as the "receive beams" application, but maybe you have something else). Just to confirm, "receive beams" must be OFF!
Also, make sure your batteries are OK.
I suggest you get it working first with the InkLink connected via USB to your PC. If that works, then you can be sure that the pen and the InkLink clip work OK. That will then leave the IrDA transmitter, its battery, and the PocketPC hardware/software/config as sources of potential trouble. I can vouch for the software working on an XDA2, so that should just leave the IrDA transmitter and its battery.
Oh, just forgot, I did download the latest version of InkLink from the Seiko site. My version is 3.3, while it came supplied with 3.2. Don't know if it makes a difference, but worth a try. Also, make sure you select InkLink as your hardware. I believe it defaults to SmartPad.
Can't think of anything else you need to do. You certainly don't need to do anything weird.

Bluetooth Headphones Problem

I have an O2 XDA Mini S and have just purchased a pair of Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headphones. I have paired the two; however, I only get the Hands Free service (which works) but NO Wireless Audio. I have not installed any other software / drives and I am using WMP 10 Mobile to play the music.
Any help with this problem would be very much appreciated.
Thanks, Harold Clements
...Ok, I have been on this for about 4 hours now and I am starting to get a bit annoyed.
I clicked on Motorola HT820 and then went ‘Refresh’ and up popped ‘Headset’ so I ticked that and saved. I then clicked (and held) on Motorola HT820. The options that I get are Edit – Delete – Set as Hands Free. I think I should also have ‘Set as Wireless Stereo’ or something, but I don’t.
Please, has anyone any ideas?
Thanks, Harold Clements
Wirless Audio Hacks
I really could do with someone’s help!
I have read about the ‘hacks’ (zoad2p.cab, Tornado asdp, AKU2.6) but I am unsure:
a) if this is a solution to for problem / PDA.
b) what a hack is and why is it needed?
Please can someone help!
I don't know wich kind of PDA you have, as you can see everyone here calls their PDAs by their HTC's code name (mine is a universal), go to look the pictures of all the PDAs, find yours and search directly inside there, it will be much easier for you to find an answer.
One simple comment, your PDA has to have the Bluetooth high quality audio (is called be some PDAs in this way), see if your PDA does contain such feature, you have to activate it if you want to hear stereo audio, generally when you pair your phones for the first time, your PDA will show you the option already ticked, if you haven't see it, chances are that something is missing in your bluetooth profiles, go to your PDA's specific part of this forum and read, with patience and some luck, I'm sure you'll find whatever you need to get your PDA's stereo audio to work.
Most of the cases, are just the lack of the profiles or even installing another BT stack.
good luck
Thanks...
Thank you very much for your advice / reply, it was very much appreciated. It seems that my PDA is a Wizard. I will indeed search that part of this forum.
Thanks again,
Harold Clements
I don't think your phone supports A2DP profile. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Neither do i know if his phone supports it, I use to have an Ipaq 6340, it suppose that it didn't supported A2DP but with an BT stack extracted from another PDA (don't remember wich one) it worked, it didn't worked very well, it dropped audio more or less each 30 seconds for 2 seconds, someone said at that time that was processor lack of power -I didn't agree with this-, but I did no further investigation.
As far as I've understood, the main bottleneck for stereo profiles (or any deamanding profile in BT) is the radio, of course, if We don't have access to the manufacturers good information, good tools, much time and even more will is very hard to find a solution to anything, most of us do not spend lots of time with this things -it's not easy for anyone with a "normal" life-, and I'm not complaining!
It's just fine for me, the whole thing it's quite enjoyable like this, some more time spent in this way and it would become a second work.
So, may us have fun and keep an excellent forum up.

To be truthful, I know very little about what I am trying to do. All I know is that I can’t get the music side of the Motorola headset working.

a hack is getting a device which dont support a feature to do it anyway
if htc dident make your device to support a2dp == bluetooth stereo
you maybe be able to get it to do it anyway using a hack
if any hacks works for your device
as it differs
bluetooth support is never support for all profiles bluetooth have
plus there are bluetooth version 1 - 1.1 - 1.2 and 2.0

The zoia a2dp hack (zoa2dp.cap) is what you need, it will give you "Set as wireless stereo" but be prepared for pretty bad skipping, that has not yet been solved for all of wizards.
Also if you flash to a custom rom (Like Molski's 2.26 it'll have the patch automatically.)

New Jabra BT620s firmware available

Hi guys,
this morning I've found the firmware upgrade for Jabra BT620s. It solves all connection problems (no need to activate AD2P from Bluetooth Settings Applet) and improve quality.
Here the link.
http://www.jabra.com/JabraCMS/EM/EN/Misc/Software620s (server is very slow)
I hope this is a real news... I don't know when the update became available...
ByezZ
it's available now and i downloaded it on my BT620s
i feel the quality is better now
what is the best bluetooth headset for dopod 900?thanks
Wau
Wau this update is cool. I was happy with the old one but this rocks ) thnx for info .. I didnt know that it is possible to update firmware in my headset ...
Can you use the sync cable that came with your PPC or do you have to use one provided by Jabra?(If there is one?)

I think that a normal USB cable like the Universal one is required... But not completely sure... If Windows installed the driver without problems, everything should be ok... Let us know!
Nice. By the way, this update doesn't work with Windows 2003 x64. I don't know if it x64 or 2003 issue
Had to patch it on winXP
HTTP 404
Could anybody upload this update somewhere else?

Thanxxxx!!!
My apologies for posting so long after this thread died down, but I have a few people to thank and it is well earned credit regardless of how far after the fact it is given. To edeplano and marco.minetti for their posts about new firmware for the Jabra BT620s I am most grateful as it was the key to ending my troubles with this headset, and a special thanks to captainsensible2002 for the rapidshare link since the original link has gone down.
I can't tell you how deep a hole I've dug to find an answer to this headset's problem. When connecting my AT&T Tilt (HTC TyTn II), if I don't turn on the phone's BT radio first (as opposed to turning on the headphones first), I have to go through all those "activate AD2P from Bluetooth Settings Applet" steps. My original thought was to find a macro program to record all the steps and just link that to a hard key, which is when I stumbled on edeplano's post. After a bit more digging through Google to find out more about this new firmware, I got linked back to this thread. Thanks to you guys, I needn't worry about any of that "which BT is turned on first" nonsense anymore as the headphones connect regardless of which device is switched on first now. I haven't tested it for better quality yet as has been claimed, but I thank you all in advance if that is truly the case as well.
problem updating
Hello! I'm a new user of the Jabra Bt620s. I was trying to update the firmware but once i put the headphones y "software download mode" windows asked me for the driver but... it has no drivers! and the program SATURN don't want to give me the "NEXT" as an option.
Have anyone experienced this problem?
I've tryed to update the firmware in windows XP SP2, XP SP3 and Vista Ultimate.
PLEASE! HELP!! thanks
I too am having this problem. Is there not a driver? I have spent countless hours over the past couple weeks trying to find this stupid driver... it is like it doesn't exist!
No luck for me
Apologies for resurrecting this old, old thread. I'm stuck, and don't know where else to turn.
I bought a BT620S on ebay. It seems like a great device, but I would like to update the firmware to address some of the stuttering, etc.
I downloaded the firmware update software and ran it. I plugged in my headset and pushed the two buttons, until one of the lights changed to green. However, the firmware update software just sits there, with the Next button disabled.
Does anyone have an idea about how to update the firmware successfully?
im having the same issue has everybody else.. next button does not work
Lolz, this was an year old thread & I just thought we have something new. I bought BT620 after this date so my BT may already have this.
I also was annoyed by some of the small issues with the Jabra BT620s, and also found the jabra.com webpage useless for firmware update, and also found this thread.
Next never became avaiable in Win7 64 bit (not even in compabilitymode), but then I turned to my girlfriends old laptop with WinXP 32bit (all updates installed).
Here no problems were encountered, everything went according to installation instructions, and the update seems to have helped on the sound quality ecc.
Thank you so much for providing the link! I hope this can help someone else.
Got it!
6 computers in the house, but no Windows XP.
Visiting in-laws for the holidays, and they have only WinXP. I brought the firmware upgrade .exe and the headphones, and it worked. Awesome!
The sound sync isn't quite perfect: when I play Left 4 Dead, firing weapon the sound is a little late. But for anything else, it seems just fine.
Thanks folks.
I just upgraded my bt with this & now there is no A2dp support. Can anyone point me towards any other update? I need to rectify this as soon as possible.
Nightmare!

im not sure how to set that up could you walk me through it
I think the problem is that your dongle needs to be able to use the MS Vista stack. I had a similar problem and had to change my dongle in the end, luckily they were cheaper but I had to make sure if worked with the native Windows drivers.

Audio over Bluetooth question

Hi all, I can’t seem to find a straight answer on this forum about how to connect my SX66 (WM6.1) to my Windows XP PC over Bluetooth so I can listen to my mp3s or internet radio on my HIFI system that’s connected to my PC?
I am using a Bluetooth USB stick and I have them both paired using the BT software the came with Windows XP.
I had tried BlueSoleil software in the past to listen to my music but I didn’t find it practical because it keeps disconnecting and I would need to pair them again.
I am running ROM version: 6.141 WWE, RADIO version: 1.02.10 and ExtROM version: BLACK KERNEL
Thanks
first of all let's make sure i got the question right:
you want to stream audio from your sx66 to your pc, right?
well that is no problem in general, since the sx66 is known to have better BT quality than most of the other BA models (further range, higher tx rate).
since windows xp does not come with a proper usable bluetooth client (unlike vista) i woul generally recommend bluesoleil, because it can be a handy tool, once you got all the settings right. plus you don't need extra drivers, since most of the BT chip manufacturers work with bluesoleil.
then all you have to do is pair your device with your pc and once that's done, set bluesoleil to allow the device to do all further things in all areas without further confirmation.
then you need to make sure you have the a2dpfix on your sx66, which is needed for stereo bt stream.
then, when paired, start wmp and play music, and look in the mixer on your pc, if a signal comes in, and what channel and turn it up / activate it for audio input.
(let me repeat that all this is so much easier in vista, and for every step i made the other day i have to think of 5 ones which are necessary to do the same on xp)
then your stream should work as long as you don't close wmp, if you do so and then want to continue playing, you need to connect to your pc in your BA's bluetooth app again, but need no settings on the px anymore which i guess is a relief.
back to the basics: if you really want to do that, you can do it now, but still i can't think of a reason why anyone should do that, i suppose the mp3s your playing come from your pc and you could play them there anyway, your pc can probably also play internet radio.
if that is a "i turn the screen off and control the music with my mobile!" thing, i can give you another freeware, with which you can control winamp, whenever you are connected via activesync, no matter if you are doing that via cable, cradle, BT or wi-fi.
i just gotta look it up, i don't have it right now either but it is great!
e.g. i want to control my music while playing, but with full screen games and without media keys on the pc's keyboard i need an external winamp control to (plus it also provides jump to and other things media keyboards can't do).
EDIT: i could not find the program i had to control winamp from my device, but it was a bit older, even worked with wm2003se, but i did find, that people do like to control their pc players from mobiles, therefore, a thread was made, to be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294524
greetings Chef_Tony
P.S. please re-post, if it worked and if that is what you actually asked.
Thanks
Thank you for the quick reply; Yes you understood correctly.
It seems that BlueSoleil is the only solution for what I want to do, so I reinstalled (version: 6.4.245.0) again with the A2DPFix.CAB and it’s working for now.
Do you know where I can find a cab file to install on my BA to enable the rest of BlueSoleil services (Bluetooth phonebook….)? BlueSoleil is asking me to install “symbian\IVT-wm(1.0.2).CAB” on my device, but it doesn’t work and the only file I can find on this forum is the “bluesoleil_r2.arm_163.zip” for magician.
actually, for other services, like dialing, phoebook, sms and stuff i would suggest pairig the device, and setting up activesync via bluetooth, your phonebook is to be found in outlook then and for writing sms and completely controlling your device i would suggest MyMobiler, which is a freeware remote program which gets the BA's screen on the pc and you can control the device via the pc's keyboard and mouse. i also use that for making screenshots of new roms and stuff, it's free and works with activesync, so cradled, BT, wi-fi doesn't matter. that of course, doesn't 100% satisfy your question, i guess. i'm in a bit of a hurry right now, but be sure to check in this thread later, because i will edit, as soon as i found something that really brings you the services.
Thanks for the info. MyMobiler works great
By the way I uninstalled the A2DPFix because the sound was choppy.
Good evening,
Well MyMobiler is not working everytime on my device and i'd appreciate to find bluesoleil CE if it allows you to send sms from PC without having to link it anytime.
Have a nice evening.
