Hi everyone,
I really need help.... I have an spv m5000 and a 1 gb kingston sd card wich works perfectly on my mp3 player ( I can read, upload and erase files). the thing is that in the spv I can read but I can't upload nor erase files.
I have already format the card and still the same problem
Any suggestion, any idea ??
thanks a lot
Rodrigo
Is the little lock switch on the card itself (usually on the left side as you look at the front) set in the lock position? That would allow you to read without being able to modify files.
On my Transcend card the switch is locked when it is in the down position, and unlocked when it is up.
I hope that helps, that's the only thing I can think of right off.
Thanks you for that ...but I've have try the upper possition, the lower postion and the middle (almost SD card Kama sutra ) possition and still not working.
anyway thanks for the tip

What did you use to format the SD Card? Your computer or the Universal itself?
You can try and install WM5torage, an application that would allow you to view the SD Card while still in the Universal as a drive. Activate WM5torage and connect it via USB, then try "quick format" the SD Card this way.
Solved
Thank you so much for the wm5torage...... that solve the problem with out format
thanks again

Hi im a newbie at this. I recently got an o2 XDA Orbit. It comes with a 1 gb microSD. I have purchased a 2 gb microSD and wondered how i can copy all files from 1 microSD to the other and keep everything intact.
This is probably very simple i tried to copy it to my desktop then change the SD card then copy back to the other crfad but it does not seem to work properly, probably the conversion process.
Anyhelp would be a godsend.
Regards, john
i never had problems copying the content on of my sd's to the pc for backup purposes

Thanks alot rudegar, i had a problem after doing at as some programs stoppped working. I will try again and see if i can sort something out.

I just got a new 16Gig Micro SD Card for my Evo. I tried to transfer everything over from my old card using my laptop only to find out that not all my apps transferred to the new card. What am I doing wrong and what can I do to fix the issue? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!
You need to go into folder options(on laptop) and enable folder view to show all files, systems files and protected sys files.
Your copy/paste is missing some key files
Swyped from a galaxy far far away......
Thanks for that. Anyone else?

You must've downloaded something that made those folders.. And if you don't know what it is, you might have to factory reset..

I ran into the same thing a while back. I was never sure what caused it. The only way I could find to fix it was to reformat the SD card.
I came across such folder located in my TWRP Backup on SD card.
Its name: µ~1.8CL
I tried to delete and my device soft reseted.
From there I pulled card tried to delete folder using PC , That was a no go.
Folder would not delete so I had to reformat card.
the µ symbol is a sign of sd card corruption. usually formatting the card fixes the issue. doing nothing, though, will let the issue become worse and it will continue affecting other files, backups, etc on the sd card. i've seen several users that had to eventually just get a new card.
Hi guys.
let me say first that I am aware of whole writing/permission issue with KitKat.
And I am happy to use the build in file manager to copy stuff around.
But as I had some issues with my sd card(files were copied then dissapear etc) I bought Samsung! Sd card Class10 32GB and to this card i am not able to write at all!
I can format, create a folder but that's about it. Not able to copy anything using the 'internal' file manager.
Everything works fine if I can connect the card via OTG.
Any ideas? As i am stacked now with 2 SD cards I cannot use.
And btw with all this write restriction explanations. Why I cannot write to internal card slot only?! If it is OTG I can do anything with any application. Somehow all the explanations I have read do not add up in this part.
Any enlightment highly appreciated.
Cheers

Sounds to me like you bought a counterfeit /fake MicroSDCard , if you purchased it off ebay then chances are it's a fake. the packaging looks identical to real Samsung products and it is very hard to tell the difference.
Do you have a card reader for your pc, you can do a test on it to tell if its fake, there are several programs that can do this but the most popular is H2testw .
Take a look at these threads for more info

The issue you are describing where files just disappear is a telltale sign of these fake or counterfeit cards, usually the cards only have about 2GB of writable space and the rest is bad memory.
Btw on a side note: I have no problems on my tab pro 8.4 , I have every single GB of my Sandisk 64gb sdcard filled. and have no problems with it..
