XDA Orbit Not Booting - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone is able to help me.
I dropped my XDA Orbit yesterday, picked it up and nothing was damaged and all programmes ran fine on it, as usual I switched it off overnight, turned it back on in the morning and the screen only shows 3 colours and a 2 pieces of text saying "IPL 1.25.0001" and "SPL 1.25.0000".
I tried a few reboots but it's the same everytime. I then connected it to my PC, and the computer detects it as "Unknown Device" and Vista Sync Centre doesn't detect it at all. Along with this a small piece of text appears on the Orbits screen saying "USB" when connected to the PC.
Is there anyway to recover the phone? As the ROM updates require ActiveSync to be running. Or is the phone bricked .
Hope you can help

Xda II ROM upgrade v172181

Hi
I recently down loaded and install an Xda II ROM upgrade v172181 (26.5MB) from the UK O2 website.
After the installation finished my XDA11 is no longer working. The screen is completely greyed out
but you can make out the word Serial at the top of the screen and v1.06 at the bottom of the screen.
Other wise it looks totally dead. I have tried the soft and hard reboot (by pressing power button and reset button simultaneously) with out effect.
Any ideas greatly appreciated
Put it back in the cradle as re-start the upgrade. Also make sure the cradle is connected directly to a USB port on your PC and not through a hub, and that the power supply to the cradle is connected.
Life but no action
Hi
thanks for the advise. I now have life in my machine where there was none .
I tried the rom update again but I now get an error 101 stating it can't find my XDA and as for the XDA it stay onat the start screen showing the o2 water sceen.
So if you can work your majic again I might get the benift of this mean machine I have only had it for two days
Thanks again

Orbit problems..hangs on WM6 splash

Hello all, recently my Orbit screen was broken and was replaced today. Problem is however i've encountered some problems...in that when loading it passes the O2 splash screen, then goes to Windows Mobile green splash screen and stops there. Tried reset many times, not getting anywhere. Another problem is that it will not connect to my computer, i'm thinking it cant be the connector as the phone when plugged into charge charges (led lights up).
Any wise ideas of wisdom?
Thanks
Simon
it would appear that a hard reset has just done the trick! yey

[Q] Black screen of death?

Here is what happened on my month new Galaxy Nexus.
1. Listening to mp3 via Bluetooth headset
2. Playing a game
3. Standing up
4. On a train
Sound stopped working across everything, in the game and on the mp3. Tried killing the applications and reloading, the mp3 player refused to even start the mp3.
Rebooted the phone, well, I turned it off. It has never turned back on. Tried removing the battery, all that, nothing.
Got home, tried plugging in the USB into a PC. Nothing. Tried booting into recovery mode, nothing, other than the PC claiming to have found a new device.
I haven't plugged it into a PC in recovery mode before. I haven't even seen recovery mode on the Galaxy Nexus.
I was running OTA Vodafone UK 4.0.2 I hadn't even considered rooting it or anything.
Anyone know if this is salvageable or had the same happen to them?
Hi. If popping the battery does no good I'd get it replaced without any further investigation. Sounds like hardware fail, so long as you are sure you have not got it wet or caused any damage to it.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
If you cant bring it back on after a battery pull then its a dead phone for sure
I had the same problem last month. An usb jig solved the problem.
USB Jig?
Any more details? Something you can point me at?
Cheers

Appropriate?
So does the phone show anything at all? Does the screen come up for any amount of time? Can you get into bootloader?
So for completeness I have exactly this issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1384415
Basically this paragraph:
An item under "Other Devices" called "OMAP4440" keeps appearing and dissapearing all the time, with the little "!" mark next to it indicating that there is a driver error. The drivers for this phone are fully installed on this same PC, and it use to work fine before it went dead.

Sounds like a USB Jig might do it. But in this case its back to vodafone and jumping through those hoops.
For the record I hadn't done anything at all to the phone than a normal consumer would. i.e. no rooting, hacking, booting, fruiting or cheesing.
It just died.

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and haven't rooted or installed custom roms before, but maybe you can halp me with my problem.
The other day i was on my way to work, at home my phone was working just fine, but when i arrived, it was dead.
I put the phone on charge for the rest of the day, but nothing happened, only a dim flashing red light. Tried to reset in all possible ways.
I charged it with a usb power meter and it draws only about 20mA intermittently...
When connected with the sony bridge for mac software the phone isn't recognised at al. I tried pc companion in windows XP (in bootcamp).
and then the phone keeps connecting and disconnecting over and over.
I don't want to sent the phone out for repair, because there are a lot of pictures and other private documents on the phone and i can't erase the phone myself. Who knows what happens when the phone is repaired.....
Is there a way to get the phone back to live without erasing?
Thank you very much

open the sim card slot you will find a small red button (Reset button) there next to the sim press it until you feel 3 vibrations then don't turn on your phone charge it until full then turn it on if it didn't then again press the reset button and don't turn it on , go to pc companion>support zone>software update>repair my phone . and this will be your only hope and i'm afraid you will lose all data on internal storage

Another 5X BLOD - I'm having USB problems

So yesterday morning the Wifes 5X crashed and rebooted, then started looping on the "Google" splash screen. Having been unaware of the common bootloop issue i did some reading and realised what was going on.
So i stuck the phone in the freezer for an hour, then fired it up. This time it managed to get into the OS, and i switched on the "OEM Unlock" option as well as turning on ADB debugging, then shut the phone down.
So far so good, but then it all took a turn for the worse.
I booted into fastboot, and connected the PC. The PC reported that "Windows could not recognise the USB device" and it appeared in device manager as "device descriptor request failed".
I've tried 5 different cables, same error. I've tried three different PC's, same error. Thinking i was doing something wrong, this morning i booted my own 5X into fastboot, connected that to the PC, and it immediately was detected properly and shows up as it should. So it has to be an issue with the broken phone.
Any ideas? I've stuck it back in the freezer now, and will try it again straight out the freezer and see if that makes any difference.
Unfortunately, i bought it used from ebay, so i dont seem to have any warranty recourse.

I'd still go on LG website and give the imei number to a rep and see if it's under warranty. You'd be surprised. They didn't require me to show proof of purchase when I sent mine in a few weeks ago.
