Hello all, recently my Orbit screen was broken and was replaced today. Problem is however i've encountered some problems...in that when loading it passes the O2 splash screen, then goes to Windows Mobile green splash screen and stops there. Tried reset many times, not getting anywhere. Another problem is that it will not connect to my computer, i'm thinking it cant be the connector as the phone when plugged into charge charges (led lights up).
Any wise ideas of wisdom?
Thanks
Simon
it would appear that a hard reset has just done the trick! yey

Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone is able to help me.
I dropped my XDA Orbit yesterday, picked it up and nothing was damaged and all programmes ran fine on it, as usual I switched it off overnight, turned it back on in the morning and the screen only shows 3 colours and a 2 pieces of text saying "IPL 1.25.0001" and "SPL 1.25.0000".
I tried a few reboots but it's the same everytime. I then connected it to my PC, and the computer detects it as "Unknown Device" and Vista Sync Centre doesn't detect it at all. Along with this a small piece of text appears on the Orbits screen saying "USB" when connected to the PC.
Is there anyway to recover the phone? As the ROM updates require ActiveSync to be running. Or is the phone bricked .
Hope you can help
Need help...after 7 months of trouble free use my Orbit has suddenly died. It basically started last week where the phone would for no reason at all soft reset itself. After it booted up the clock would go back to its original setting back in 2006 & had to be adjusted again. The soft reset would happen without any pattern e.g. when I push the talk button when call comes through, when I try to open a program or even just pressing a button to wake it up from standby.
Anyway yesterday it did the same thing but this time it boots up to the O2 splash screen i.e. the blue screen with the picture of the glass building, & then just remains there with the backlight still on. I've resorted to a hard reset but again it will only boot up to the blue screen.
Any ideas?

Hi!
I have a Qtec 9090, english language and keypad.
I got a problem with bad connection or bad backup battery. When I tried a different simcard i took of my battery. when I started the device again, it had lost power and the device had reset itself. Normally when i start it again after hard reset, a little installation prosess that last about a minute or two, then the device is ready for use, empty as new.
What happened this time is that in the middle of the installation process, the device lost contact with the battery, for some reason, and went black!
After it restarted again, i only can get a white screen, and a little ping at startup. The screen is only white.
I have tried to install different rom's, but i only get wrong country code...
I can access the files on the device through activesync, but the device does not look like it starts up, it charges on usb as usual.
Do anyone have the knowledge to help me?
Thanx,
John

Hey all,
My friend dropped his P3300 some days ago and it started behaving wierdly. It was freezing when it ran TOMTOM and some times froze at the HTC screen during a soft reset.
After a few days , it froze completely at the HTC screen and never came back on again. Not even the charging indicator LED works.
Any ideas and recommendations?
Does it enter Bootloader mode atleast? If yes, then try flashing a new ROM..
Regards,
Carty..
Thanx Carty.
the boot loader comes on and off... it switches off when the outer case moves.. So I guess we have to send it for a repair.
Ive looked through all the post that I thought was related so here is my problem.
Last night for no apparent reason my phone reset itself and I got the tri color screen (is that the boot screen) nothing would work.
Ive reflashed the phone dozens of times.
It works but after boot it goes to tri color screen, pulling the battery out, putting it back in and resetting with the usb cord in works. If I turn off the phone and turn it back on without without it plugged in I get the tri colored screen.
So basically if the phone turns off it has to be plugged into the computer or ac adapter for it not go to the tri colored screen, which I only found out by accident.
Things Ive tried:
- Ive unlocked the CID and Sim with "HTC Hermes SIM & CID Unlock - v3a"
- Then put "Black Satin" windows mobile 6 on my phone.
Thought that would help but still the same result.
Anyone got anytips phone works but its so annoying knowing that there is problem on it frustrates me.
Actually I just tried turning it off and on with an ac adpater it doesnt work, only works if its plugged in a pc with a usb cord.
