Hi Guys
im currently using the LVSW rom (which is awesome by the way!) and have it perfecto apart from one issue.
I seem unable to tell it that my Exchange mail is HTML. The dialogue for this is greyed out in the settings and I can find no way to enable this and so all my mail is coming down as plain text. In the meantime I have switched back to IMAP.
Is this a LVSW build issue or something I don't understand/missed. I must point out that this is very possible as i'm a total newb!!!
Out of curiosity, does the fact that activesync is constantly on (And appears to be connected - but this could be "push" technology) drain my battery?
Many thanks for your help!!!

You need exchange 2007.
Look at my post I have adapted a doc from someone else in the community...
Also have a look www.httpsync.net ....
You will found some doc. about Direct Push even with Exchange 2007 sp1 ..
Ahh ok.
Thanks very much
Guess I will be sticking with IMAP then

I sync to Mac and so use Missing Sync from Markspace.
This worked well with WM5 Roms indeed, IMO more user friendly than ActiveSync.
The changes made in WM6 means that device will only look for PC with ActiveSync on (for security issues?) and so Missing Sync won't connect.
Markspace are dealing with this issue and in time will re-write to solve this issue however, it leaves me with a serious problem at the moment and possibly for some consderable time!
Has anyone managed to work around this issue, if so could you let me know.
Thanks

I can think of only one way, but you need Entourage on your Mac.
(1) Set up an account with 4smartphone.net
(2) Have Entourage sync with 4smartphone
(3) Have your Hermes sync with 4smartphone.
This works like magic. LIKE MAGIC I tell you. You change something on your Hermes, and - look ma, no hands - you go back to your Mac and the info has changed there too. And the other way around! and it is all pushed! GEEK HEAVEN.
They offer a trial period ... might just be long enough for MarkSpace to come up with a solution.
If you have Office for Mac installed, but do not use Entourage but instead use iCal, then you need to set up Entourage to sync with the iCal database. The option is somewhere in Entourage.
That's well and good, but only a partial solution. Entourage only syncs Email, Contacts and Calendar with an Exchange server. You'll still be missing out on Tasks, Notes, iPhoto and iTunes which Missing Sync takes care of nicely. I do hope MarkSpace works it out soon, but that's not likely to happen until there are some shipping WM6 devices available in the States...
I second that...
Man I really really need Missing Sync again!!!! I'm sure we're not the only ones
Is there a way to hack and reverse that security feature?
Cooks and cooders we can put a bounty on this!
Thanks for your advice nispen. I Have sorted out 4smartphone account as i run Entourage. I have had partial success in that have been able to sync to an exchange server but must have made a mistake somewhere as contacts in entourage are not being updated. This said, I have been able to get all addresses in one place - on phone and in Mac Address book so at least I'm halfway there!
Like spidy.web says, as the problem ultimatly likes within WM6 being secure - someone out there might be able to solve this problem - a reg edit or something?

Dear All,
I was working (quite happily) with WM5 on my HERMES (MDA Vario II - HERM300), but a friend told me that WM6 was MUCH better and that the reception is MUCH better and the facilities on this nice, new, Dutty V2 version of WM6 was brilliant and... (get the drift?)
Well, I upgraded, according to the instructions with the ROM, including upgrading the radio and SPL (Hard-SPL, now) and I now have NO email! I got this FOR the email!
I had some issues with the phone and each has been resolved. I am hoping that these issues will be resolved as well by listening...
Anyway, I cannot receive my HoTMaiL email (as I could with WM5) and I cannot get my OWA email.
I used to be able to download my HoTMaiL via Windows Live, but that has stopped working after about 2 days. I have NEVER been able to send emails via HoTMaiL (under WM6). I send an email and it stays in the Outbox. When I do a Send/Receive, it sits there for a long time trying to synchronise folders and then returns that it Failed to sync.
I get the same problem with my OWA email as well - it cannot sync folders and cannot send emails. I have installed the certificate for the OWA machine and I am referencing the right address (owa.xxx.com) as in the certificate, but to no avail.
Although I do have HSDPA on the phone (and its beautiful), reception seems not to be any better and *CAN* be worse!
Lastly, I cannot change the soft keys on the phone - I understood that the ordinary application was removed, but I cannot find the replacement for this to change these keys.
Hoping that a noobie can be helped,
QuietLeni
some more information:
I have since solved the HoTMaiL issue - my phone was in a bad reception area (OK, schoolboy error, but the phone USED to receive there fine...)
...but I STILL can't synchronise with our Exchange 2003 server, even in a good reception area or over 54mbps WLAN!
So, the questions are these, now:
1) is there a reception problem with the 1.4 Radio ROM, as I used to have slower speed, but better coverage with 1.12?
2) is there a compatibility problem between Exchange 2003/OWA (on SBS 2003) and WM6.0? Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Thanks in advance.

Got a little further...
Dear All,
I'm a little further forward... ...I have sussed out that the WM6 machine *IS* synchronising, BUT no emails are not sending or receiving.
What is going on?
Help

Since I have upgraded to wm6 my outlook won't get the new emails automatically from exchange server. I have to click on "send/receive" manually to get the new messages.
I can't find any setting to change. Can anyone help me?

From memory, the setting is in Activesync and under Schedule or something like that (it's one of the top three in the menu). Definitely remember it was in Activesync though. Should say "When mails arrive" - sounds like yours is on "Manual".
Hope that helps!
that was it. Thank you so much
Hi,
I am using the new SMS synchronisation with exchange, but sometime, after a while, sending a new SMS to my contact through the OWA just kind of crash my phone. Active sync become unresponsive and the phone gets hot!
The only solution left is to reboot the entire phone...
Does anyone else experienced this issue?
Any help, advice welcome!
Thank you
Wait, what's this? SMS through OWA? Sync SMS with Outlook? Need more info.

I am not sure that this feature is really interesting, because it is buggy so far. Pushing SMS from the phone to exchange works fine, but OWA to the phone is buggy.
This feature comes with exchange 2010 and WM6.5. If you have both, after your first sync you'll be able to enable it.

Yeah, I've read about this feature of Exchange 2010 -- sounds cool...wish my Exchange-Server host would upgrade from 2007.
Of course, phone getting hot and locking up sounds less cool...
Hi everbody,
I'm operating my own Exchange and recently upgraded it to 2010.
A colleague of mine and I are using HD2's where I have the same symptoms. I wasn't able to send an SMS through OWA (altough the server's listing the mail under "Sent items").
Strangely the text message is showing up in the conversation view on the phone.
When I now open up Outlook 2007 (as 2010 rtm hasn't been released, yet) the message is still in the outbox (unsent items, don't know what the translation is).
Now it comes:
A third person is using a Touch Diamond with some hacked Windows Mobile 6.5 - working flawlessly.
Anyone of you looked at that post?

Maybe that's a solution, but I haven't tried, yet.
@Brainscanner
i read the post, but i can't apply it to the rhodium
Just gave it a try. Working fine for me and the colleague with HD2's.
I apologize in advance if this has already been answered but i have been looking for the solution for a couple of days now and have had zero success.
I have my t-mobile dash setup for pop3 email with my own domain. When I first setup the email account, the email is all downloaded fine. After that, it just stops working and hangs at "looking for changes". I can go into tools and modify the settings in there to download from 5k to 20k or make any changes in there it will download once, but then stop again.
One other fact about this is that it started once I updated my Dash from WM 5 to WM 6. I have since tried WM 6.1 and WM 6.5 and have the same problem on all.
Does anyone have any advice or solutions to this? I have seen a few people post the same question, but never any replies.
Are you using the TZones hack? If so, there is one more change needed to make your email work correctly. Look it up in the WIKI...it's the last thing on the list.
Sorry...not in the WIKI....just search for the TZones hack. It's in there.
No, I am not using the TZone hack. I have just upgraded my WM to 6.0, then 6.1, then 6.5 and have had the same problem on all of them.
It seems that using Exchange instead of POP works fine, but my email is not on an exchange server so I have to use POP.
I just put WM5 back on my dash and now my email works fine. Same setup and same account as before. The only difference is running WM5 instead of WM6, WM6.1 or WM6.5. I am not sure why that would make a difference, but I would LOVE to run a newer version of WM on my dash if anyone can shed some light on the pop email problem I am having.
I just read some other posts addressing a similar issue where a pop email setup on WM 6.1 kept "looking for changes" and wanted to check through all 6000 or so messages on the server. The recommendation was to set it up using IMAP. Does anyone know why the pop setup would be a problem but the IMAP would work?
Thanks
