At this stage, for the sake of consistency, both PTT and NON-PTT Black ROM versions 1.1 will contain the same customizations/apps.
in version 2 of both rom flavours we are considering adding a voice commander/dialer.

Hopefully it will be easy to remove since Cyberion VC is probably the worst voice dialer on the market.

Cyberion VC...Yech...Just provide people with the cab so they can install it if they want later. I'd rather do my own thing with M$ VC 1.6.

The fact is Cyberon Voice Dialer does NOT work with this ROM......
Maybe it was bad, but it work better than VC to me...

I'm @ home sick in bed...waitin for my Rom soup! (Really I'm sick as a dog today home from work.) I LOVE your Black WM6 editions. Yours was the first I pulled the trigger on for my 8525 and I just love it.

I think I posted a similiar Remark in another of your threads, but I think If the "Cooks" creade a base OS, then a series of Cabs, that can be added.
eg.
OS + PTT + Video Call + Smart Dialer + Add Mod 01 .... etc. etc.
Then we just need a matrix of what is Mutually Exclusive and what can Co-incide..
My ideal would to get a ROM that does what my current 5 Rom Does and that is the , "OS + PTT + Video Call + Smart Dialer " as a bare minimum. As I use all of these every day..
Anyway, Just a Wish List..

While I know that it would make the file size huge, you might consider releasing an installer program that allows you to select what options you want, and then the program cooks the ROM right there for you to install to your handheld... it's just a thought. Maybe to keep file size down you can make it download the options when the user selects them.

while all of that sounds great, there seems to be a slight problem that some of us are trying to overcome.. and thats the dialer with video calling + PTT .... its a b!tch to say the least

Does any wm6 edition have PTT as of yet??? I love the speed and look of wm6 but i use PTT alot....PLEASE IF THERE IS ANYWAY POSSIBLE let me know, Paypal reward would definitely be in order! I had to go back to wm5 and it just seems like it crawls compared!

Doode...didn't you read the first post. That is what this entire beta test is about...WM6 with PTT.

Yeah when this version is open to public send fifty bucks to my paypal account and I will gladly send you the link to download. LOL!!
Seriously though if you will just be patiant, they will release the link to download the rom as soon as they feel it is ready. As for making a donation, you could always donate to this forum or the creators of this rom could make a link for a donation for all of their hard work and efforts.

SORRY, maybe I didnt explain good enough in the post or it didnt come out right...I have read and read and read!!! I have been in these threads for years, I have installed wm6 and love it. I have not been able to find any .cab or registry edit for the ptt, I seen that this is a "closed beta" WITH PTT. I was just hoping that there might be a .cab or reg edit to use right now so I dont have to use the current wm5 that I have had to revert back to using for the ptt. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE WM6 ROM COOKERS OUT THERE!!!

PTT is not avail on any wm6 rom. Black Edn will be hopefully the first.

no, there is no cab available as it requires certain system dll's that have to be integrated into the rom.... but i can assure you its being worked on...
Apologize beforehand for the n00bness. This is my first post and I'll try and keep it clean. I've been trying to get push to talk working but for the life of me, it's no go. Originally the plan was for me to try to get it working with Custel's Windows Mobile Black Cingular Edition, but I can't figure out how to get it from the regular Cingular edition to Custel's GREAT cooked version. The way's i've tried are as such:
Taking out everything from the Extended Rom and identifying the PTT *registry?* cab and installing it.
Going into the Device\Windows\PTT and the Device\Windows\ Folder and copying all the necessary files
Nothing seems to be working. On another note, I can't seem to get VoiceBuffer to copy over. Any ideas? Thanks in advance guys! And the march continues~
Even if we can get PTT working, would we only be able to use it with other cingular customers? Or people with other carriers also?

Only cingular customers.
If you search you will find your answer as to why it does not work. If it was that easy it would have been functional a long time ago.

No problem, going to have cingular version based off of my rom tomorrow some time as well .
If it has PTT I'll love you. The Cingular Black Edition you put out is almost PERFECT for me, except the whole PTT thing, it's driving me mad!
So I have been searching for two days and I can't find the PTT install cab. Where is it, I just did a WM6 ROM and I would like to use PTT as I use it for work. Anyone able to help

YOU CANNOT USE PTT ON WM6!!
as it requires editing the rilgsm and ril.dll's that control the radio interface layer (RIL) for PTT to work...

the ril's from wm5 work on wm6... the app will also run on wm6... there is just one slight problem... no one can get the PTT button to work... however there may be a solution soon, the cing/att Kaiser rom that was posted by incognitho is wm6 and has PTT.. people are working on porting that over to hermes, if all else fails i keep hearing that att will have a wm6 rom for hermes in july (i dont think it will be for the public, but i could be wrong)
Quite honestly, PTT would be nice but not necessary for me. I currently have an LG 400 on my business plan (6 phones) and well...I don't need it on my 8525 right now, except to stop carrying 2 phones with me.

Just curious if there is anyone out there that can get the PTT app from the new cingular ROM such that it can be installed on WM6 or non ATT Hermes ROM's.
maybe if someone rip it out of DPadMenu.dll which is also used for Smart Dialling, or the other solution is to remove it with smart dialing.
If it was that easy there would already be a ptt wm6 rom.
I know Sleuth had a PTTfix cab from a while back that added the functionality (it worked very well too)... I'm curious if the PTT software in the new official ROM is the same or newer. Has anyone looked into that?

let me give you a more serious answer... this has been worked on since i first recieved a rom with PTT on it late last year... i havent had a whole lot of time.. and the software itself works for the most part... but there is 1 important part that does not work, after we can make that work then it will be possible to port to WM6... but as custel said.. its not that easy... congratulations to cingy and HTC for making this very difficult to achieve...

Sleuth's fix was to regain the button functionality of the PTT button...aka button 5...not the PTT service.

theres a cab for them in my 1.2 thread in the 2nd post, CV doesn't work though, I haven't had a chance to fix it. I've heard if you install original real player after installing the cab in my 2nd post it will work.
to get PTT to function in WM6 you need to replace the RIL dll's, although its not hard the dll's have been changed and API's have been added.... still working on it

yes, the ril's are very important!!! Just gotta make that button work....
I'm back from MEDC with the new WM6 SDK's in hand. I'll see if I can get the button shim done next week.
Guys (and girls) I have searched to no avil and need some brotherly love... Does anyone have a working CAB for the PTT feature from ATT/Cingy? I've gotten my phone completely pimped using Duttys V2 and would like to try the PTT feature. I live in a 3G area (Louisville KY) and I am ready to give PTT a chance.
Only thing I am pissed about is ATT wants to charge additional $$$ to use the PTT feature when they already give you mobile to mobile free (doesnt make sense to me) but I am sure the future will bring different results.
Keep up the good work all you chefs and mods... and the noobs that are always good for a laugh ( i am sure based on my signature that I look like a noob but in reality i am long time listener first time caller....)

well even if there was a cab with a working PTT button it still might not function if installed from a cab, as it is dependant upon ril.dll and rilgsm.dll and these cant be installed from the cab.. crashes the hermes every time.. unless sleuth the master can make it install those without crashing the phone
More than likely some files will have to be integrated into the newer roms, then have a cab to install ptt (after we get the button working)...
sorry for the long answer... short answer is NO, does not exist at this time.

I think we have now have finger flo on the hermes and trinity!!!
a friend of mine has sent me a modified touch.dll which works with finger flow, he has modified it for the trinity and hermes but cannot create a cab.
he is using a wizard and here is a video of it working, but he also has it working on trinity:

Hmmm...added the touch.dll to jj's and bepe's alpha cab and it doesn't work I'm afraid to say - it disabled the touch screen completely...I may have done something wrong but the fact that the touch screen stopped working suggested that the original touch.dll was overwritten by this one..

Did you SR after applying the new DLL?
Yes I did do a SR
The original touch.dll is in ROM so if you can use the keyboard and buttons to get rid of the new one (I managed to navigate to add\remove and uninstall my cab) the old one will re-appear and start working again no HR needed

i was hoping someone could look at it as i have no clue, all i do know is that it works on the trinity, and if it does it WILL work on the hermes!!
ill try and get afew clever people to look at the thread!!!

the wizard touchdll isnt compatible with the Hermes touch screen different hardware.. already tried
So, more of the same, which is nothing. I for one am not really waiting for it. I don't think its worth it.
Though it is funny to see threads like "TouchFLO working finally" and in it, some people got ButtonFLO working...kinda...sometimes.
And now "Touch Flow working with Fingers" and it doesn't.
Next will be "Really, its working now!" and yet it won't.

The key thing here is that if you cook a rom with the touch.dll rom included, does the digitizer work once FWUPDATE runs? (screen cal). As we've seen so far with other dll's, when one is cooked in, it won't pass the second splash screen (IPL/SPL view).
If it will pass this test - then it is almost certain to work - assuming the edits to it won't affect any other applications that will need to hook it.
I can't play until tomorrow, but i'd be curious if anyone tries to cook it in.

The guy who gave me this dll has it working on trinity, he in fact was the fisrt person to get it working well and release it into A ROM of any kind, i think it was Wizard (or trinity cant remember), he told me that this is the dll he used, he cooked it into a ROM AND he has it working, He has released the ROM but it is in full italian.
but he is Italian, it is very hard for my to communicate with him as i am having to learn italian at the same time!!!
From what i gathered from conversation, is the following:
1) He modified this for Trinity/hermes
2) he cooked it into an italian ROM and it worked
3) he cannot create a CAB for it
4) he asked me if i could get it tested over here, so i have.
also it aint like i have been posting daily about this touch flo thing, but if someone PM's me and tells me that this is the answer to everything, which it possible could be as it works for trinity, i thought id take some time out from celibrating my brithday and post it for everyone to get into.
I dont believe him to be a liar, i asked him to work on this AGES ago, and he last night posted this to my via PM.
I dnt get wat the big deal is, you lot need to stop having a go, I AM NO PROGRAMMER, but i can network with people, i had this new dll before anyone else and im getting **** for putting it into the public eye for the clever computer people to test and to see if we can help get this working, kinda a colaboration between us and my Italian friend!!

If this is the kind of childish response i get from supposed adults about a new file, i dont know what im supposed to do when someone sends me a file that i can do nothing with.
