installing now

I'll wait for an OS only release and a mirror. I'm sick of this rapidshare crap already. One would think xda-dev is taking a cut of their profit considering how pervasive that crappy site is here.

It's the users that are uploading to rapidshare, not the site ops. Rapidshare is the quickest way for everyone to get the roms. Then, mirrors can be set up for them after that. Got it?

Rapidshare only allows one or two downloads a day before locking you out and demanding $6USD to proceed. There's this thing called bittorrent (have your friends/beta testers seed). Got it?

if you dont like it then go some where else you ungrateful SOB!!

Is there an installation guide that i should follow? I have flashed with the xda live and that was simple to do just wondered what the situation was like with this rom?
Looks really good... glad to see the improvements...
D

@LVSW
Just want to say thank you, I love your ROMS and all the updates you have been working on. Keep up the good work.

I am not ungrateful. I like these roms very much, but let's see some foresight here! Instead of using a free network that would give incredibly fast speeds to everyone all over the globe, they go with a proprietary network that locks people out and demands money, even after providing a sub-par downloading experience.
I didn't mean to start a fight (who knew that this forum took the one-way allegiance to rapidshare so seriously?), but I do think that this community needs a MUCH better distribution method, especially considering the amount of bandwidth we collectively consume.

OK, but, where is a free network for us?

Like I said, bittorrent. We could use one of the many publicly accessible trackers and have the devs and their beta testers do the initial seeding. I know I personally would not mind having my desktop seed the latest ROM and I'm sure there are a great many people who would not mind doing the same.

WOW! I'll be onto this very soon! thanks LVSW, fantastic work
So who's installed it? what's the memory like... program/storage space? is there any noticeable improvement from the previous version?

We use torrents too. I think that is better to got all possible alternatives (torrents, http, ftp, emule, etc.. not to be limited to only one.

Many thanks LVSW!!!! My first impression... it seems faster! Will post more as I load programs etc
SPV-m3100 SPL 1.09 ds / ROM 3.23.0.0 / GSM 1.34.00.10

So back to my original point which is why use rapidshare to initially distribute the file when there are many better and free alternatives that can be used. What are we arguing about, again?

what was the installation process that you took.... quite like to know if there was special way to carry out the install.....
I know its probably a stupid question but i a newbie to all this and need as much assistance as possible.
Many Thanks

There is no neccesity to argue. Some people has downloaded the ROM from rapidshare but there is only one needed to create the torrent

Is it possible that we have a OS only ROM?? Many thx for you excellent work.
Most stable, none issue ROM ever since first day of WM6 Cook ROMs!!

I would do it myself if I hadn't been locked out by that those greedy ()*$)%(*$#()%*$#()%* over at rapidshare.

@MG! A New Elf Rom! [email protected]! Now with CRACKBERRY ADDICT SUPPORT! Elf 2.1! "The New Black"
Welcome to Elf v2.1!
Elf Is "The New Black"
Below you will also find the CRACKBERRY version of this rom. Please, seek professional help if you are addicted to CrackBerry, but, as a public service, I have included it. TIPS ARE HIGHLY WELCOME!
The damn CrackBerry hack took an INSANE amount of time.. The actual hex edit is easy; it's figuring out what to edit! argh.. Seriously nuts. BIG thanks to Shadowmite for his help in figuring this out. Also, a thanks to JJ for his complete lack of moral support as I tested it
Highlights:
Cooked into the rom:
1) BIG STORAGE! (48.8MB available after all ExtRom programs installed)
2) Shadowmite's TweakUI 1.4
3) dotFred's PimBackup
4) TaskMgr
5) ATI Patch
6) Office 2007
7) OneNote patch
Cooked into the ExtRom:
1) Windows Live Search (My personal killer-app)
2) Windows Live Messenger (the NEWEST Live Available!)
3) Device Lock
4) WM Transcriber
5) SIP Config Tool - VoIP configuration
All extrom customizations are REMOVABLE via. the Remove Programs App in Settings.

Anyways... What are you waiting for?? Why aren't you downloading? Oh, you need a download link? Well.. Instead of having a great big red DOWNLOAD HERE link, I'm going to have some fun
Download here (Rapidshare)
High Speed Mirror (thanks Chamelion!)
Download **FIXED** CRACKBERRY rom here (Rapidshare)
Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it..
Notes:
- X-Button has serious issues. I am not including it in this release. I recommend SBSH.net iLauncher as a proper replacement. It is inexpensive, and just amazingly awesome. It's the task manager of choice for most people who really know what they're doing.
- I need an icon for SIP Config Tool; I'm a god-awful artist. So, if anyone wants to contribute back an icon, please do and I'll release an updated cab for it.
- Splashscreens are professional; I do have some other more fun ones that ToddJG did; I'll post them later for seperate download.
- In my tests, with the standard battery, and full time push-email, I was getting an insane battery life with this ROM! Longer than I had seen before. So, I'd be interested to hear other's opinions on this issue...
- General idea of what got cooked vs. added via. Extrom. Basically, I wanted a core OS that allowed one to operate the device but leave most of the other stuff in ExtRom to be installed on HR customization. So, things like TaskMgr and PIMBackup (both VERY small programs, but, also HIGHLY useful) are cooked. Live, Live Search and other stuff that I like, but you might not, are in ExtRom and marked as 'removeable'. You will be able to reclaim the space lost on the Live installation, etc..

It's based on LVSW. It *highly* stable. So, if you prefer newer and unstable check out that Rockin' rom or Faria. But, if you prefer ROM's that don't need Ritalin, mine's the best around (IMNSHO).

Excellent, I will try later this week; I've just gotten Sleuth LSVW rom up and running.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the good work, Elf. Just had the original Elf edition setup 2 days ago and has not had a soft reset.
Trying this 2.1 out tonight.
WebCamera Plus from Ateksoft not working
Thanks Elf for the great ROM. I finally took the plunge to flash the ROM fo the first time. So far everything has been working fine except for the WebCamera Plus. Apparently after flash the ROM, it somehow returns a new device ID to the software hence the activation of the software fails.
So the problem would be similar to those from TOM TOM users.
I suppose I have to call Ateksoft to issue me with another activation code.
Apart from that it is a great ROM.
Thanks
I wish I knew why it does that silliness. Although, this whole activating based on some strange device ID is just silly too.. Pirates just bypass it. Legitimate people who buy the software are screwed out of the program...
There have been HUNDREDS of downloads of both roms, and only a VERY SMALL handful of posts.. I guess this ROM is the secret Diamond around here
WebCamera Plus from Ateksoft not working
Thanks for the reply, Elf.
BTW, donation on his way.
Great ROM elf, awesome in fact.
I just have a small problem with the refresh though. When I change the settings on the today screen like take away a button for instance, it does not refresh it until I do a soft reset. weird.
WoW!
With all the different roms ive tried this is the best so far!
well done, cant wait to see more!
We're like the diamond in the rough... The new black... You know, once you go with an Elf, you nevah go backlf (well, something like that).
CUS' i'm TELling you that I'm way better than some of these other ROMS
I'm just joking of course. I have great respect for all the cooks on here.. JJ is a great guy if you ever get to know him, Custel is, well, uh, uhm, anyways... Sleuth is a nice guy (smart too), and LVSW, well, he's just plain cool--I only wish he spoke English better because he rocks and I'd LOVE to pick his brain on a few things..
Anyways, I'm missing tons of cooks, so, don't take offense.. PLEASE! I'm just trying to be funny.. But seriously... In the words of that annoying idiot on TV that hocks his "Video Professor" software--"Try my product!" lol
I just put this on my TyTN today. I'll be testing it for the next week or so. So far, everything seems ok. It's definitely less snappy than Black 3.0, which is what I had on before for about 3 weeks -- 3 weeks without a single reboot. I'm hoping this ROM can show the same kind of stability.
Black wouldn't recognize my microSD after removing it - I had to soft-reset to recognize a re-inserted card. That is fixed in this ROM.
One minor bug so far - when setting an alarm with the built-in alarm function, AM/PM reads "P 1" and "A 1", rather than AM/PM. Not a big deal.

Go to HTCustom, change the TIME to Normal, NOT AM/PM.. It is a WM6 bug.
About memory... compared to the others your ROM is relatively low on Program memory (in my case about 24-25 Mb after install).
But you tell in your ROM we can remove the extra programs we don't need. Will this also increase the program memory (as I understand in WM6 memory allocation between storage en program memory is dynamically)?

vp3G's WM6 v2.0 -- [RTM & Hybrid builds] -- [Cingular/AT&T optimized]

This WM6 ROM for Hermes is brought to you in two variants:
v2.0 "RTM" (CE 5.2.1238 | Build 17745.0.2.3): Based on Schap's 3.30b WWE RTM build.
v2.0h "Hybrid" (CE 5.2.1238 | Build 17913.0.3.0): For those who feel the "RTM" is a step backward, v2.0h comes to the rescue -- a reprise of my renowned v1.0 making it's resurgence with the Hermes RTM CE (XIP grafting by yours truly), freshened apps, 4gb SDHC support, and the v2.0 "look and feel".
Which version should you flash? My recommendation would be to try the "RTM" first unless you're a heavy Bluetooth hands-free user, in which case I'd recommend heading straight for the "Hybrid". Why? Well, some folks feel as if M$ really loused up the BT stack in the RTM while others have not experienced any problems whatsoever. Personally, I'm still on the fence with regard to the RTM... the hands-free does seem to be a bit quirky in the RTM, but the A2DP support is a solid as ever. Repeated cycling of the BT radio also seems to be a bit unpredictable with the RTM.
Bottom line: You decide. For all intents and purposes the ROMs are functionally identical, it's just their internals that differ a bit.
NOTE: These ROMs are Cingular/AT&T optimized. If you're NOT a Cingular/AT&T subscriber, you can still install either variant and simply soft-reset as soon as the customization dialog appears to bypass all things Cingular/AT&T. Then manually perform the setup for your carrier.
Notable Features (apply to both variants, except where noted):
OS + splash screens
BIG Storage + 4mb Page Pool (~54mb free Storage, ~30mb free Program)
Re-tuned performance parameters (GLYPHCACHE=16384 + FATFS Cache=Auto)
ATI ImageON fix
Acquire Date/Time & TZ info from network
Schap's 11-button Comm Manager [2.0]
OEM 9-button Comm Manager [2.0h] (v2.0 11-button add-on cab available -- post #2)
Schap's Vista-like icon treatments, System Tools & Accessories program groups
A2DP tweaked for BT stereo listening pleasure (JointStereo & SampleRate)
Video calling disabled
WM6 sounds enabled
Annoying phone sounds disabled (in-call volume adjust, end button)
Customer Feedback, AutoUpdate & Catalog removed
Abbreviated initial setup
Transcriber [2.0h]
4gb SDHC support

Happy days! Your last ROM was the only one I have ever used that I would describe as completely bullet proof.
Happy to see a new one from you - great looking work dude
Sounds very good.
Is possible to turn off getting time etc from network in the Time Zone tab correct?
thanks
great job man! keep up the good work
Is that actually the new version of AudioManager 1.2?
Man I want to give this a try sooooo bad, but every rom keeps breaking my bluetooth except for the official one... lol crap
But I would like to try it with my new Plantronics 590A I just ordered....
And again great work vp3G
You Da BOMB!!!!! Down loading and installing now.....

Newer build of AM, yes. Far as the BT goes I can tell you it will assuredly work with your 590's. The A2DP quality will knock you flat on your ass, mark it down.

Thanks!
@SkOrPn: You're gonna look mighty funny wearing those in your car.
@Stangs55: Dunno, but doubtful as I've done nothing special to the BT stack. Only one way to find out what works with it...

Thanks again for your hard work!!
Just downloaded and installed. So far it's spectacular! In the process of installing all my junk now and will report back later on.
Great Job, vp3G.
Just one question: Does this build support 4 GB microSD?
Guessing it will, but I don't own one so I can't tell you for sure. I'm just a poor ROM chef, afterall.
Thank you for this ROM. I'm using Radio v. 1.41.00.1, should I switch to 1.40.30.00 like you have for optimal performance?

WORKAROUND/TEMP SOLUTIONS:
No simple solutions from on. Why? I want you to learn the hard way like I do so you will be a better person and knowledgeable. It also will make staying here as fun as possible.
1. If your device happens to be stuck, black screen for a long time and cannot turn back on, etc. after flashing, it's a bad flash. So, reflash again but make this time, you try a HardSPL by JockyW2001 as an option.
2. A little slow is not a bug. I've never touched the registry entry keys to tweak the speed. I leave it to you. Search for the keys in this forum.
3. ....When new things come up.

Wow
Its looking great! Waiting for tomorrow..
I can't seem to get it.... what is the difference between this one and Diamond project team V1 !!?? for me it seems it's their work on the manilla design.
if the original bugs of the V1 are solved in this one, then this would be a good ROM to get

Happens just passing by my PC.
My answer is, Sorry, it's not their design. Confirmed by Dutty himself. So, do not make accusation for what is unknown to you. The truth is, it's HTC's.
This is the latest Manila build .38 came with the ROM. I'm just merged the old nice .33 beta release graphics happened to be surfaced by my friends Dutty and Tom.
Great!
What wanderful graphics, I like this one...

I didn't accuse you of anything Cyphol... i know you're very good at cooking ROMs and I respect your work... it was only questionings from me that's all...
Personnaly i love the new look and loved it in the V1 now yours... if you could solve the bugs that came with that build it would be great and i'm certainly going for your ROM as soon as you upload
Apologies if you got offended my friend
I love it it is beautiful but WHY remove Audio Booster ? Could you post the .cab to permit us install it. I use my phone as an mp3 player and think Audio Booster is one of the un-removable soft

Nevermind, friend. I'm askign for your forgiveness too since this is not how I normally reacts. Sleepiness makes me talk like ****. Malay cultures and Islam does not tolerate this kind of manners. Sorry again, friend. I feel stupid and embarrassed already.
Looks really nice bro, congrats

AlphaZero & Swtos
we hope one day wildberry gets a community rom means we like to start a rom where chefs share knowledge are open minded and work together on the same goal. to make a good rom and share it. stop working against each other and take this rom as a example what could be achieved by a cooperation.
Happy Flashing
Regards
Swtos & AlphaZero

Interesting! Any ETA?
I would like to save my F5 button it's getting kinda shady cause of all the refresh actions
By reading your other posts Aplha I would bet it will be somewhere tomorrow?
Can you give us some more infos?

we dont know yet she will decide how she wants to appear to you.
if she likes you she could be naked. if she doesnt like you then she will wear her full armor suite.
But hey she told me she does not want to end on any kitchen here. maybe that means she is dumprotected =(
Cooks unite..
Awesome, finally a ROM's cooked by two excellent developers swtos, and alphazero, can't wait to see your results. Lets hope your combined creativity excels..
How easy would it be to created a cube based Manila interface like the TouchFlo on the HTC Polaris? and a graphics customizer so we all could change the Manila themes etc easily?
don't tease us, please.
great idea to collaborate. maybe other chefs are interested.
really appreciate your ROMs, swtos.
I like that good cookers cooperate to create a very good ROM for the community!good job!
And can you give us more details?cant wait!
Gotta love the name "Wild Berry " nice
i would look forward to a version with blackberry connect and wisbar desktop...
Maybe also combine all the tweak programs into the settings tab..
You won't find many ROMs that contain shareware.
If you really want Wisbar in your ROM you should try to cook it yourself. You might wanna use AZOR since the WildBerry will (probably) be a protected ROM
Sounds Berry Interesting!
(pun definitely intended - sorry! )
I can only aplaude when 2 Chef's are putting the heads-brains together
Under the motto read somewhere els "too many Rom's - not enough time" it will help flashing less - though presumably even better ROM"s

If these results are true... (that's about double the speed I usually get!)
Sorry but I don't wanna flash the WildBerry. With those speeds from the benchmark I'll fry my device for sure
Like pietrucci said that's double the score from other benchmarks. Wonder if you used tweaks to get high scores out of the benchmark or if it's actually that much faster than other ROM's.
Guess we have to be patient. No ETA yet?

we have 4 hands on it and progress is double high than other roms. sorry we cant tell more on this point. pictures say more than 1000 words
i think i'll wait and see before trusting these benchmark results as they seem a bit "unrealistic"

Dunno if you decided to release wildberry under alphazero's or swtos's philosophy (open/protected roms...i've asked for that in another place but, due to my bad english, I've not understood your answer alpha! ).
Anyway, if you don't find me boring, I would ask you it again...
My personal reason? Don't mind about "recook" your roms adding/removing apps or tweaking its: maybe don't really think it's necessary 'cause I'm actually running Swto's Vanilla 1.3 and I think (for my exigengces) it's a pretty perfect base for my jewel.
What I really need is the abilitiy to have installed into that Remote Traccker (an anti-thief software) always configured and HARD RESET resistent...
Sorry another time for my terrible english and for my "heavy" request about that issue...
PS: Last one question, will be the vanilla version UC capable? I find that feature very useful in my swto's Vanilla 1.3!

Well thank you for your blatant, upfront rudeness to the Diamond community. It's like we don't even exist. Talk about someone that couldn't care less .
Love your ROMs itje, please do carry on by all means. Would love a version with the new Pointui Home 2 cooked in, and NO TF3D (which eats up precious RAM, battery, and slows the phone to a snail-like crawl)! I'm loving Pointui Home 2. Everything is smooth, bug-free and the phone carries on functioning smoothly without being affected.
Not bad at all, seems to manage memory very well. Report back in a few days after I use it, but so far A+
Nice Rom itje. Love the Blue trimmings. They are very refreshing. Also noticed:
1) FlipIt by Wildberry team works nicely with this ROM.
2) Long End Key Press appears not to be not included. Might be a nice addition. Anyone know where the cab for this is so I can add it myself?
Nice Rom itje!!! But I will keep mine... in french
However I really like the blue highlights... Could you make a cab so we can install it on other Roms
Thanks for the job

"Schap's TouchXperience"
this is why they are having problems with the naming of the rom here in the diamond thread....IMO
