just installed wm5 Tuma v1.3 on my Qtek9090
had (some) hope that mic problems would dissapear, but no luck att all
besides that, all is working like a charm, even performance is not as bad as i thought it would be
btw, GREAT JOB keep up the good work, it is appreciated
i've read in some forum (not sure if it was on XDA) that someone had solved the problem by putting a extra hole next to mic :roll:
i'm decided to try it out since i'm tired having to use a headset when speaking on the phone with everyone :?
i'm used to open up/repairing laptop's at my work so how hard can it be, right? -WRONG! -i cant find the damn mic!! :shock:
i opened up the BA but i cant find it anywhere...
next to the reset and hardreset buttons theres nothing that looks like a mic...
does someone know where is it??

Its just next to the reset button at the bottom of the XDA IIs. When you open the cover, the mic is fixed in a kind of slot, just in the same spot where you see a hole next to the reset hole in the cover.

my green answer call button doesnt seem to work. i'm wondering if its the rom or the phone. it still lights up but doesnt respond when i push the button.
any suggestions like a button tester program?

Are you having any problems with any other keys?
If its just the one you can break your phone down and check your connections and see if anythings loose or damaged. Make sure to go to the Wiki and check out the guide on how to properly take your phone apart.

Starting to wonder about malfunctioning buttons posts
I myself posted a thread on my malfunctioning power button . I am getting the feeling that certain apps and tweaks are causing some of these malfunctioning hardware buttons to happen. Not exactly a scientific point of view, but I think lots of this button malfunctioning (no matter which one), can eventually be resolved by HR or as mentioned in another post, Clear Storage. I myself, within a minute, pulled out my SDMicro card out for 15 seconds, took off Quickmark application (last app or cab put on my system), and my power button turns on/off as it should. I had to resort to SR's when I had my problem..........................
Latest: Found out that my main problem was NOT any of the above,, it all seemed to occur because of a buildup of Notification Queue's,, so check that out... I think that those queue's can be a source of a lot of problems

softreset doest fix it so i will have to resort to hard reseting.
lucky the vodaphone version has the 3G phone button and i can use that to get to the dial pad but it then assumes my calls are 3G which are annoying
has anyone got any suggestions then?
i flashed K's new rom and still my 'Green Answer Phone' button doesnt work.

i had a similiar problem when installing a different dialer via cab.
i would suggest to either install a naked rom (like pandora naked) or one of the older roms (like schaps v3.x).
do not install any other cabs and see if the green button is working.
i flashed pandora naked rom and it still doesnt work.
any one have any other suggestions?
if not will i have to take the phone apart :S?
the Irda doesn't work at all, when i install a program to use my tytn as a remote for my tv, and i try to clone my remote i get an error saying "Irda port being used by another application"
and it wont communicate with over devices via Irda. other than that it works great...does anybody know a way to fix this problem?
p.s. tried other roms, Irda works fine, so it's not the phone.

A general rule I follow is not to use too many .cabs as certain apps and tweaks can cause some of these malfunctionings to happen.
You cant be installing cabs for everything on your phone. Do you really have so much space in your phone?

seem like more of a hardware problem to me. you can still try checking for bad blocks, flashing another radio, but that all may be futile. look up the disassembly guides in the wiki. mikechannon also has some stuff on that, if u click on his sig

Try shutting down the system by hilding the power button. This should allow the system to save all changes to registry and free up resources. If you hard reset, it's like resetting your PC, you loose all unsaved data. You should try it once!

If I do it like that nothing is gone but after if receive other SMS and softreset that is gone. For shure I will need to soft reset and after I will loose everything

If you really need to soft reset, then: 1. Shut Down; 2. Soft Reset.
I can't understand all these worries, since many cookers are using the XIP part modified by ausdim so we don't have the issue of loosing settings, passwords, or e-mail accounts...

I just tryed something:
Send an SMS to my self, see the message then ok or X and then soft reset.
What happens is that the message is no longer there
I can't see what I'm doing wrong, but it happens

I just tried the same. I guess I never noticed this before, since I always Soft Reset by software. However, if you Soft Reset with stylus, the device lock password is not lost. Wierd!!!

At least part of the problem was solved by the replaced XIP part...

Ok. I've done a test. And that's true if you do a soft-reset by hardware just after you receive an email, sms or mms. But, time after (I don't know when) all data are saved. I think we just have to advertise this fact to the users. We can't do anything else.

By soft reset you mean the power button or any aplication?
If the mobile hangs, or stops responding will the power button work? The application for shure will not
some rom has still the lost of settings issue
Some rom like the last pdaviet rom, has still the issue of loosing Mail password, connection settings and luetooth paired devices informations on reset.
You are right, there is less and less rom which has this bug, but there or some.
Unfoirtunately for me, the rare ones which have this pb, are the rare ones where the A2DP is working fine and is not too much solwing down the phone.

If I receive a SMS, and if I Soft Reset by software (I use WkTasK), the SMS is NOT lost. It only happens when I Soft Reset by stylus.

Soft Reset can be done in 2 ways: with the stylus or by software.
The power button is used to shutdown the device.
If the device stops responding or hangs, you may not be able to shut it down or reset it by software.

I'm going to test more A2DP in my ROM, since i just got a BT stereo headset. I wasn't able to do that before.

Very good news. Happy to know that some knowledgeable guy will look for A2DP.
I don't have technical knowledge in this domain but had done a lot of test.
There is 3 categories of rom:
1- There is some rom which do not even has the A2DP sound with good quality. Sometimes they can be fixed by reducing the max bitpool to 30and installing sleuth A2DP fix. Some times I didn't succeed to fixe the sound A2DP quality.Sound is very skipping. For example the Akeo rom is in this category.
2- Some of them have good quality but when A2DP and music is runinng, you can't use anything else. For example the netdrg or your rom are in this category. sound is very good but impossible to use music thru A2DP and at same time, use tomtom.
3- Rom where sound is not skipping or at least skipping very rarely and the cpu is still available for doing something else in the same time. The only rom in this case are pdaviet roms and the WM6 Schaps rom.

I recently updated to "WM6.1 080408 Final For Excalibur WWE with English - By Kavana." I have noticed that when I press and hold the "." key it does not display ":" as it's supposed to, instead it just shows "." All the other keys work fine. In order for me to use ":" I need to first press the "alt" key and then the "." key.
I would like to know if anybody else has experienced this. And if there anything I can do to fix it. I think I went over the first 30 pages in this forum and I didn't see anything about this. Sorry if this question has been asked before.

im gonna have to disagree...i tried what the OP said and the same is true on my phone running ricky's v.24
they keyboard layout is fine..its just that when you hold down . waiting for : it never happens. instead you get a bunch of periods (depending how long you hold the button)

Mine works all i did was remove the .cab and all my keys work, posted @ thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397723&page=7
I origianly had the eT9.cab then installed the Tegic eT9.cab, removed both with SKTools and sudenly all my keys worked including after a reboot.
I had deleted the .cab file a while ago, just using Windows Explorer, and still have the problem. I'll try re-installing and then using SKTools, perhaps that will change things.
ill try it when i get a chance...i never even noticed it..so it really doesnt effect me.
I tried uninstalling the cab and rebooting, but that didn't fix the problem. When the cab is not installed, none of the keys work when you hold them. I just installed the cab back.

Have to admit i had to restore phone last night with Spb back up to b4 got keys working and now i'm in the same pedicament, tryed the uninstall .cab no result, must have been a fluke in the order i did things.
ok let's keep it short:
I disabled the htc sense for better performance as it took much of the memory, did some tweaks (I didnt do any registry changes) and when I enabled it again it looked like this
everything else works normally, like the original meny, as seen.
so I think some of tf3d's display drivers were messed up in the progress. I tried to undo the changes without any success.
this is a stock 6.5 wwe. do anyone know what is the problem and how to fix it or could anyone send the original file (what ever it is)
Maby it's time for THE hardreset or some custom roms in this forum..
Have you tried turning it off and on again? soft reset? hard reset?
usually those solutions solve many problems

no i didn't yet hard reset. found somewhere here a tweak for hd or hd2 that might messed up the senses graphic drivers/settings. it had some kind of setting that would "boost" up the tf3d... but when i had sense running nothing happened, after re-enabling sense it looked like that..
i tried to install quake but i dont think that had anything to do with this..
Seems obvious then that you should try to get rid of those graphics drivers. If they don't uninstall the normal way, maybe there is some info on how to remove them in the thread where you found it.
Yeah I understand that, but even when I changed the tweaks that may caused this mess and uninstalled the program nothing changed (with soft reset between changes).
So now I am seriosly considering hard reset or for some of custom roms found in these forums.
So go ahead and hard reset. It is not the end of the world and after you do it a few times it becomes very simple. I make backups every few days when I am playing with new changes. That way if somthing goes bad then I can just hard reset and restore a backup from known good working order.
A hard reset is one of the smallest prices you can pay for having the ability to play with all the settings and customize the phone so much.
dont be afraid... turn it off and push send and end and power button at the same time. Follow the instructions on the screen, load your software or backup and resync with PC and you world will start to be normal again.
