You have downloaded AKU 3.5 for WM5, not crossbow, try Helmi's crossbow v1.1 or Jwrightmcps's 2.01.08.

Before upgrading please ensure that you have bootloader version 1.01 or above. also ensure that you are using the original cable and connecting the device directly and not through a hub. Charge your battery fully before upgrading. With these precautions surely your device will not brick.

IV GOT BOOTLOADER 1.00 AND IT WORKED??

hw do we get 2 noe the version of bootloader ? m sry m new .. so dnt noe

Re it working with bootloader 1.00. It does most of the time. 1.01 is more reliable.
To find out which bootloader you have, get into bootloader mode. Read the wiki to find out how: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Resets
You would do well do read the whole of the wiki - the answers to many questions are in there (including how to upgrade the bootloader). Note that if you have bootloader 2.01, then you have a G4 - don't try changing the bootloader as it's already up to date. If you have 1 or 1.01, don't try going to 2.01 as you will brick your phone.

How to Update Bootloader

Hi,
i have 2 Blue Angel Devices (both T-Mobile MDA III). One purchased in December 2004, the other in June 2005.
I updatet the older one with the "newest" shiped ROM by T-Mobile. And i updated both with Radio 1.13 and BT 3900.
Everything worked fine. Thanks to the Forum and Wiki.
But there is one difference between the two devices. The older one has Bootloader 2.05 and the newer one Bootloader 2.07.
What is the difference between these versions? And how can i upgrade the bootloader???
No Answer???
i believe the Newest Bootloader version for BA is 2.08 ..
in HIMALAYA we have lots of Option to change BOotloader ..
http://www.buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=41
One Q.. Why You want to Upgrade ?? ..
if you have a problem with Flashing Using 2.05 but not with 2.07 .. then i can suggest to upgrade .. but if not no need to do that .. there is a big possibility to brick your device if you made it incorrectly .. and a JTAG or Motherboard Replacement is only the cure..
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WallabyJTAG
(Example of JTAG but using WALLABY)
anyway in WALLABY and HIMALAYA we usually having more problems FLASHING with Newer bootloader so we more tend to Downgrade than upgrade..
-toe
So, the Bootloader also seems to indicate "how old" the hardware is, cause it is normaly not flashable without opening the case...
There are some Problems with 2.05 cause 2.05 often "hangs" whlie flashing and i have to manually clos the flasher and reset the mda and start over angain. After 2 or 3 trys it succes.
And how can i upgrade the NEW bootloader ? . My BA v2.07 ?
I would not touch the bootloader if it works. Old IT rule says "Never touch a running system".

Universal RUU - CID Checking bypassed

Hi, after speaking to Midget_1990, I have patched the RUU for the Universal to allow flashing with any CID on your phone, this is the official Universal RUU (with a slight GUI mod by someone Midget_1990 mentioned)
so have at it... enjoy.
thanks, was just about to upload it
thanks,
just downloaded and have a try

it does work... just has the minor caveat that it'll try to flash a Universal when it's not actually plugged in... so try not to be a complete plank with it.

Is it possible that you will make a HardSPL for Universal?
We still have no way to recover bricked radio...
we were discussing that earlier. the nogsm shows when the radio bootloader is not written to the device properly for whatever reason. its still early days but it may be possible to create a new radio bootloader that cant be overwritten so that problem wont occur. however it wont fix thoses who allready ahve the problem.

ok, if you are flashing a radio, and you brick your radio, but not the radio bootloader, then you should be able to recover by reflashing.
if you brick the Radio bootloader, then unfortunately, there is no way for you to recover from this; possibly the only way of recovery is directly accessing the radio chip pins via whatever interface it is... perhaps i2c? and flashing on a radio BL again through a separate interface... meaning you then need a radio bootloader binary in the correct format.

Not in 100% of the cases... there are some situations where the radio bootloader is intact, but the radio is screwed, this causes all bootloader commands that require radio seclevel to be queried to hang the device (like 'task 32' or 'info 2'), thus not being able to flash it with the usual RUUs.
If this happens, it can easily be fixed with hermflasher by flashing the raw radio without prior authenticating to bootloader.
Olipro!!! am having No GSM here!!!
Dear Dr. PDAs
My Universal is suffering for bad blocks of Radio ROM i guess.
it Says NO GSM when boots.
Boots WIN CE very well
can't flash radio rom.
Please tell if we could have HardSPL for Universal or is there any other way to recover it...
waiting.

Flashing the O2 original ROm with this RUU
Hi,
Can i use this RUU combined with the original ROM from O2 to flash?
My current ROM:
ROM 1.13.82

ExtROM 1.13.188
New ROM available:
ROM 1.30.107
Radio 1.09.00

I have to use the bootloader mode to flash the new ROM because my XDA Exec has problem on connection with my PC via Active Sync. My Xda just dont sync with my PC where there is no connection established.
Hopefully someone can tell me what is this RUU? Whats the different than the original?

after upgrading Hard-SPL-V7, no change of Bootloader

Hello,
I just posted this quesation at the
"[UPDATED]Schap's WM6 Pro 3.30c multilanguages WM6 ROMs [WWE|FRA|GER|ESN]"
Thread, but I think this is a general problem independent of that ROM... so I post it her once more.
It seems that Flashing HardSPL didn't work...
after every upgrade, there's no change, the old bootloader is still there... After every new upgrade, the upgreade utility shows the upgrade of the old one to the hardspl...
There are not really many chances to do something wrong with upgrading to Hard-SPL-V7 but something is wrong.
some more information:
It's a never before flashed, hard resetted O2 Tytn (HERM100)...
would be very appreciated to get some help. I haven't found something like that in the forum...
Thanx!
ok, it worked now... i noticed now the new bootloader... so now i can go ahead please do not ask me why it didn't work before... had to flash the bootloader many times...?!
cant get bootloader to upgrade either

how to downgrade ipl/spl for warranty reasons (currently running HardSPL)?

Hi,
I have the following question. I currently have installed HardSPLv7 (so the device shows IPL-1.04 / SPL-2.20Olipro.
How exactly do I downgrade to my old IPL-1.00 / SPL-1.06 in case I have to hand-in my device for warranty reasons? I already searched through the forum and read that it can be done using sspl somehow but I couldn't find exact instructions.
Can anybody (maybe pof) give detailed instructions on how to downgrade to original ipl/spl from a .nbh with the correct ipl/spl files. I already prepared a .nbh with a spl-1.06 and the corresponding IPL extracted from an original vendor rom and put in my rebuilt dumped rom.
I also have the problem that I don't know where to get IPL-1.00, because on the page where to original roms are listed only the SPL version is noted, but not which ipl is in which rom. Can anybody tell me where I can get an IPL-1.00 .nb file?
Thanks for any help on this. I also think that maybe it could be interesting to put this onto the wiki if I anybody can answer this.
Thanks for any help.
check you PM
It's already pretty much in the Wiki, maybe a 'downgrade' link would be prudent.

IPL-1.00 / SPL-1.06? Is this working
Hi,
I just read through the mr vanx downgrade guide and found out that there is a downgrade package with IPL-1.00 and IPL-1.04 and a second one with IPL-1.01 and IPL-1.06.
Now, I have the problem that my device was shipped with IPL-1.00 and SPL-1.06? Apparently this is a strange combination as this is not downloadable at the mr vanx downgrade guide, so my question is. Can I simply extract the IPL-1.00 from one .nbh and SPL-1.06 from the other and recombine them using rombaker, or would a downgrade to this combination screw up my device?
Thanks for letting me know.
I'm on the same boat, I need to downgrade my JasJam to send it in.
I haven't researched at all yet, i've been pretty busy. when I get off work i'll look into it and see if I run into the problem your facing and we can atempt to solve it together.

Easiest thing to do is to download your original shipped ROM and extract the NBH file (using dutty's good nbh tool) and grab the IPL or SPL that you need and substitute that for the file from MrVanx. Just be careful what you flash - if you mix up the IPL and SPL file - InstaBrick! Trust me - I know
Do as ToddJG says, download the two files which i refer to in the guide.
Extract the IPLs and SPLs from the two files, mix and match.....BUT BE CAREFULL.......DONT FLASH UNLESS YOUR PREPARED TO DO IT.
ipl 1.00 and spl 1.06 will be fine.
make a single nbh from the mix and match combination then flash with customRUU.
What if i'm trying to flash the original shipped rom.. and i do the first step in your guide, then simply flash the shipped rom, or do i still have to extract the ipl and spl? (they're already extracted just wanting to know if its redundant if i recompile it with the rom i extracted them from.)
Ok, just succesfully downgraded to IPL-1.00 and SPL-1.06. Now i'm gonna flash back to an imate shipped WM5 rom. but one problem with that... clubimate.com is only showing the extroms which are around 6mb when downloaded.. where can i get the full imate rom?
also mrvanx what do u mean by this:
As with other downgrade guides this is NOT intended as a guide for claiming the warranty of the device having flashed components which are not authorised by the manufacturer or carrier.

It means that if you flashed unauthroized phone parts (like unofficial WM6 roms, radio upgrades and so on you have void your warranty). Of course if you can downgrade to your old rom nobody will notice that you did that.
But you have to be very careful on downgrading if you have also upgraded your radio I thinkk, cause you can brick your device (means having "NOGSM" after downgrading), see this note from mr. vanx downgrade guide for wm5:
NOTE: If your radio version is currently HIGHER than 1.27.00.00 then it is very likely the radio bootloader is version 0108, this WILL NOT allow the radio to be downgraded to a radio containing BL 0106 and will result in a "NO GSM" error.

Maybe you should follow mr. vanx downgrade guide for wm5 to make sure your on the safe side.
I thought he meant that it is still noticeable if you downgrade the IPL and SPL that it would be detected during warranty repairs but thats not the case...
I emailed I-Mate and they gave me an RMA# and had me purchase the $60.00 Diagnostic package from PocketPcTechs.com(They handle imate warranties in the US). So i did that, they emailed me with a form i should fill out and include it with my device when i ship it...
Did that, they sent me an email when they recieved my device, 15min after that i recieved another email that they were working on my devic, then Early the next day i get an email saying repairs are complete and its being ready to get shipped back to me... 15min an email with a tracking number saying its shipped....
Everything worked so smoothly, warranty was accepted, hopefully everything will be good when i get the device back (which should be today) I want to get rid of this ****ty iphone so bad!

why is every one so paranoid about this....
has anyone EVER heard of a warranty being denied because of the software on it?

Go to the wiki > hermes > original shipped wm5 roms and then decompile the rom with duttys good nbh tool. You will see an spl.nb file. Make that alone into an nbh file using duttys good nbh tool. Then flash to your hermes using the custom ruu.
Since you have successfully followed mrv's guide, you should probably know what all those things are.

Hey, maybe i come to late,
I had the same "problem", I had the Screen Aligment Issue. And I really wonderd myself if o2 have problem with my "Schaps ROM Version HardSPL" BUT there was no problem, they solved my Screen Aligment Issue. Afterwards I asked, what actually is bad for warrenty. Upgrading the Bootloader is no problem. But CID (Costumer ID) unlocking will may be evil. Anyway's for myself (the SA-Issue) was a hardware issue which has nothing todo with software facts like upgrading the bootloader...
dont be worried... i guess there will be no prob...

Why are you trying to relock?
What are you actually trying to do?
It looks like you've already tried this. If <<< that didn't work, not sure what to tell you mate.
Hi there, first poster so bare with me.
I had problems installing the H-SPL too. Then at last after trying and trying I thought by myself, maybe there could be a version (security) problem using an official 0.88 SPL rom update which doesn't work with the HSPL 0.88 version.
So what I did I looked around for any official ROM update (downgrade) version and also for the official SPL included.
I found the following HTC site (mind the spaces): www.htc.com/uk/help/htc-touch-pro2/#download
So I guess the H-SPL (version 0.88) isn't able to unlock official 0.88 spl's.
