.net Framework CF2 - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi,
Im installing .net framework cf2 and notice it needs nearly 6mb .
Can it be installed to the Storage Card or does it need to go on internal memory?

Ignore, has to be installed to the internal memory.

Why do you have to install .net frameworks? isn't it already implemented in the device? i did NOT install fw but could use all software which used it. the frameworks checker replyes version 2 if i check it.

CF1 is built in. CF2 can be installed to storage if you use CF 2 SP1:

The aku 3.0 rom used on the artemis includes CF2 it does not have to be installed again.
Check HKLM\software\microsoft\.NETCompactFramework and see the ver of cf.

Maybe someone can help me with the following problem:
I installed a 4 gb memory card using the patch and it works perfectly. The phone identifies it and I use it for music files and the tom-tom without any problems. However, when I wanted to install a new program I was asked where I want to install it (phone, memory card or Bluetooth). I chose the memory card, the program begins with the installation but then I get the following message: “your telephone has not enough memory. Delete old or unused items to create new memory”. It seems (although I chose for the memory card) that the program is trying to be installed on the phone memory. Does anybody have a solution for this problem? The HTC help service said its because the memory card is 4 gb which they don’t recommend.
Hi,
Many .cab files are setup to copy some files on internal memory even if you choose "Storage Card".
You can try to download WINCE Cab Manager to check your cab file and change location of destination files using this program.
WHat is the software you are trying to install? Is it actually a CAB file or desktop installer?
Does this happen for all software you try to install?
Please let us know.
thanks for your reply,
the program is called " the 5 minute veterinary consult feline and canine".
its from skyscape and its specially for wm users.
when i installed the tom tom on the memory card i didn't have any problems. i will try to install the WINCE Cab Manager.
thanks a lot for your advise. i will let you know if it worked.

backup jbed installed apps

I'm in the process of upgrading my dash to the rose based build, but I don't want to lose my jbed installed apps, as one of them is a banking application and it was a pain in the as* to install as the dash isn't supported by the bank and had to trick the deployment server to get the jar and jad files for a supported phone.
So, my question is... is it enough if I take the appdb folder and make a copy?
Once I flash the new rom, copying back that directory will bring back the installed applications?

1st save everything to your storage card.. i'm pretty sure rose rom has esmertec jbed already(which will load your apps)..but if you flash to kavana's new rom you will have to search for esmertec(i had to) but all you have to do is re-install everything and it should work.i could be wrong though just try it out as long as you have a storage card for those apps then it wouldnt be a problem.

How to determine where programs are installed?

Ok this might seem like a total noob question, but please bare with me for a quick sec...
I have a stock 6.5/2.1 TP2 and I somehow ran completely out of internal memory! I couldn't even receive texts. I know I have lots and lots of text messages, about 1000 contacts, and a few emails on my phone, but I have NO media whatsoever stored on the phone. In fact, I only have a couple visible files on the phone that are larger than 1MB. I did delete a bunch of visual voicemails and that got me about 10MB back. I ran a level 3 Clean Ram, message purge, soft reset, all that jazz but I still have less than 11MB left. Where is all my storage space going?!
Anyhoo I did install some programs to my internal memory, but can someone tell me if there's a way to tell which programs are installed to your phone memory and which are installed to your external storage??? That was really my question
U can use "Installed programs" option in SK Tools.
You can check the "\storage card\program files\" folder, and see what's in there; that's the location where programs end up, if they are installed to the storage card.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it!
when installing a program, it should ask you where you would want to install a program, on the device or on your memory card. Install on yoour memory card in order to leave your internal memory available.
dont forget to clear out cache in opera or IE because that takes chunks of internal memory out

Not allways, some programs bz default installs at internal memory, and some programs are recommanded to install at internal memory......

Good idea. I didn't even think of that. I do it all the time for my desktop browser but it never occurred to me to do it on my phone. I cleared my Opera cache and got about 30MB back!
That should hold me over for awhile, at least until I flash my next rom I use my internal memory mostly just for PIM and important apps like Opera.
I remember awhile back, a guy wrote a program that automatically deleted bloatware from stock AT&T rom's. I searched and to my knowledge no one has done the same for T-Mobile or other rom's. Does anyone know of such a program or a method of deleting apps that won't show up in uninstall menus?

There are advanced settings in Opera that allow one to set the cache to the storage card. Do a search.

Visual Studio .CAB installer Help

I have currently made a piece of simple windows mobile application using visual studio...
everything works fine, and I made the .cab installer.
except when i try to install it on my phone (it has both internal storage and device memory), doesnt matter what i choose it always installs everything in my device memory...
how do i fix this? how do i might it install in my internal storage?
Some .CAB files are hard-coded to install themselves to the internal storage.
To install the file to the storage card, I think you need to have a look at the settings in Visual Studio before compiling and packaging the project.

Seeing as I don't have VS set up to program for mobile devices, my best guess would be the "Project Properties"
Depending on your coding language, MS has decided that these menus should look a bit different, but try looking for a "Compile" tab or something like that withing the "Project Properties".
Good luck!
