HELP ! XDA ORBIT -> Cant connect. - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hello guys,
Just a quick question, i have an XDA Orbit and im trying to Sync it with my PC.
Ive downloaded A/S 4.2 and attempted to Sync with it, so i connect my Fone and PC and it starts to Authenticate etc. Then, my XDA tells me i need A/S version 4.1 or above to Sync with my PC......
I thought it could be a problem with the A/S version, so i decided to download the 4.5 Beta in that hope i wouldnt get this issue again....
So i connect fone etc, and it tells me the same thing
Any ideas, help, pointers would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks in advance.

Grey Screen with Error 101 - Can you lend me a hand?

I've tried to patch my O2 XDAIIs with the Imate rom with no joy. It kept putting me to the grey screen letting me know the unit is either UBS or Serial depending on if it's in it's cradle or not.
Now I can't get the Rom update from O2 on the unit. When I try to get a Rom back on the unit it tells me that it can not connect, i.e. Error 101: Connection Error.
Anyone able to help? I have tried the help file from Wiki - bootloader mode with no joy.
I've tried to hard reset the unit, tried downloading the Update from O2 again, killed the ActiveSync from Task manager..
Anyone experience this before and know a way out of it?
phew!
I think I have it going now...
What I've had to do is grab another laptop. <not sure if the machine is the problem or not.>
Reinstall ActiveSync
Allow the machine to find the XDA
Run the Rom update - it's about 10% through so far, I'll let you know later if it works completely again.
Back up and going
I've got my XDAIIs back now, yahoo!
I have read others who have had trouble running the update on one comp, but fine on another. Seems strangly common.
Congrats on fixing it!

Upgraded ROM to 1.30.76 but PocketMSN wont work. Help please

Hi,
I recently purchased an iMate Jasjar and upgraded the old ROM to one of the latest ones I found on this site which was 1.30.76 WWE I believe with the 1.09 radio ROM. Previously PocketMSN worked flawlessly and I could send/receive thru Hotmail and log onto MSN Messenger. With the upgrade, however, I cannot do either. The device constantly says 'sign in to pocketMSN failed' and I keep trying to no avail. I can still surf and use PocketIE without a problem but only PocketMSN isn't working.
Can anyone recommend a solution?
Should I purchase PocketMSN and reinstall?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Jay
the problem seems to be when I am using MSN but I leave the device idle for a few minutes and the screen blacks out. when I press the Power button to return, comm manager searches for a wireless signal and then i get signed out of pocketmsn. when i try to sign back in, it keeps saying 'sign-in failed'.
what if i upgraded to the latest Qtek ROM as I hear that's more stable. Will it work on the Imate Jasjar hassle-free?
I also had probs with MSN not even being able to log on
I fixed it with another ROM

USPL disconnects Activesync

Once arrived to 100% it disconnects the activesync and the screen on the p3300 appears black as it says in the manual. Then I can't make the connection again so I can't transfer the ROM. Can anyone help me?
I have tried a lot of times and read a lot, I have also updated actvesync from 4.2 to 4.5, but still the same.
Thanks,
Without disconnecting run USPL again and see if it helps. If not reset your device and look and see what the SPL version is. If it is 1.11.0000 then it has worked and you can flash the new ROM.
I had the same problem with my P3300 and I found a solution under Windows Vista on this forum (you can find the link in the wiki xda)
http://www.forummobiles.com/index.php?showtopic=139079&st=0&p=1399080&#entry1399080
The only thing, is that's in french...
Maybe you will find some equivalent thing under XP. The tip is to upgrade the driver of the mobile device once USPL is loaded 100%.
I hope this will help.

Click to collapse
Seems perfectly normal to me... I think you are not patient enough. It can take quite some time, whatever you do, don't disconnect the usb cable, sit on your hands and watch the phone resets itself. After that a new ActiveSync connection is made, then you can start with the ROM update.
It can also help to disable your AntiVirus and firewall software temporarily, during the flash sequence.
Had this problem too. killed the firewall what worked for me!
Had this problem too. If you are trying to install a cooked ROM run first "clear storage" program (settings/system)

Problem Upgrading Artemis

Hello,
While I was upgrading my Artemis to the Artemis Touch 4.02 version, there was an accidental powercut and the updating process was interrupted.
I turned on my phone, it's still working thank God, but I feel like some things are changed in terms of theme and lots of contacts are missing. Anyways, everything is safely backed up.
When I connect my phone to the PC, the synchronization process is successful, the phone Connects to the PC, but when I start updating my phone, the process does not start and an Error 602 (Connection problem) pops-up ironically.
How can I resolve this problem to update my ROM?!
Please someone help asap!
SOLVED
Okay thanks for the help everyone... haha
I solved it myself after such a long time figured out that it's such a simple problem to resolve... I removed the MircoSD from the cellphone, and it successfully connected and installed.
Whoever has this problem do it, and it will work!!
