docmax

hi Docmax and everyone else.
I also am looking for exactly this options, but i would use it for listening to streaming radio. I must say that i find it very strange, this is not an standard possibility in wm2005 with the artemis.
Lets hope some bright member knows a solution to our problem.
Thankx y'all!

You should consider PhoneAlarm from Pocketmax, with the profiles you'll get full control of your backlight, and they even have a button/screen-lock software over there

Impossible to ON/OFF

Hello,
My On/Off button does not work anymore.
Only incoming call, soft reset, or USB pluging awakes my P3300
* Is there a way to hard reset anyway, as it could fix the problem.
* If impossible or useless, what's the best way to backup the whole before sending to repair.
Thanks for your kind help,
Jean-Jacques
Not sure if this is the same as I had, but my device (o2 XDA) appeared dead with a blank screen apart from USB and calls. The device was still working though, as I could here key clicks when I pressed the screen. I plugged it into USB and checked the screen brightness when on battery, this had somehow set itself to dark, adjusted it back up again and everything back to normal.
Have met this on several Qtek, with no known fix to this bug...
Mine is gone back for repair, as the problem was th on/off button.
Thanks danpier.

My on/off button was also faulty for a short while. It rectified itself after a few days and hasn't been any bother at all since. Same sympoms, you could turn the display on/off only by fiddling with the button, pushing it to one side etc.
i found the reason - problem is with backlight settings.
Artemis is not compatible with any phone profiles software - disabling this software or any options related to backlight will solve the problem.
Do not use backlight controls from Spbp PocketPlus as well.
my on off button was a bit sticky, the other day, i hope its not on its way out!!!

Just read your post and it must explain why my three day old Orbit will not wake up from sleep mode by pressing the on/off button. I installed PocketPlus day one and have touched the backlight control.
Do you suggest I now have to remove pocketplus and reinstall it or is there a way round this?
Peter
Just to answer my own question I have solved my problem with the on/off switch not turning the screen back on.
I turned PocketPlus screen brightness to highest, then went into MS screen brightness, turned them both down and then up to full again (preumably overwriting any changes PocketPlus made) - now my on/off switch works for sleep mode as it should.
Hope this helps somebody else.

No.. just:
- remove backlight control from pocketplus tab
- go to control panel and set proper values again
it was enough for my p3300.
Astier: please, make sure it is really on/off issue. Artemis' LCD is very dark without backlight. I found the answer during my trip to Spain in bright noon sun
Onother solution is, map spb pocketplus brightness control to your buttons so you can control screen brightness easily by flicking the buttons.
Backlight settings in PocketZenPhone are also incompatible with Artemis and are causing this issue.
Pocket Plus v.3.2 backlight issue resolved...
Although I have not upgraded to this version yet, SPB claims to have resolved the annoying backlight issue with the newest version of SPB's Pocket Plus:

Please post if others have found that this indeed does work!

HTC S620 Backlight Program

Hi,
I'm a longtime reader but never posted too much but I search and found nothing on the backlight for the HTC S60. Is there a way to dim the screen or brighten it? Can we set the duration?
I can whip up a program if it is a registry change but I would need to know where to modify it. I've found stuff for non Dash/S620 phones...
tornado power control
every low light program i have tried locks the backlight on when you are done using it. i'm pretty sure i have used tornado but maybe i will try it again.

Any Power Saving tips for WM6?

Does anyone have any power saving tips for WM6, specifically using the Exalibur model.
All I've done was lower the display and backlight timeout settings. And whenever I'm not using it, I've placed it in locked mode.
I remember with my old PDA in Windows Mobile 2002, that when I pressed the off button, it would simply hibernate or go into standby showing the home screen immediately when I turned it on. It seems that locking is the only way for quick access.
So if anyone has any other power management tips, I'd appreciated them.
Thanks
Disable OBEX if it's on, ensure wi-fi is disabled if not in use, & if you over clocked use a program that lowers the cpu cycles when the display is dim or off.
hello, what is OBEX? what program work fine for underclock the S620?
thanks
I use tornado power control & OMAP Clock. OBEX is file transfer over bluetooth. The Dash calls it Beam, not Beam as in Infrared since the Dash doesn't have IR.
also dim your LED to blik only when notification pending, use program DoNotForget

turn scroll wheel light off

hi
well i think the most thing that consume power in htc diamond is the scroll wheel light. Because there is i light for each event such as missed call, new massages ... etc. Therefore, turning them off well reduce the battery waste which is a problem with diamond. Anyone know how to registry tweak it ?

You should have asked this question on the tweaks THREAD instead of creating a NEW ONE.
I think that the wheel light consumes very little power. Not too sure but the light doesnt seem to be the issue for battery drain.
I also think that the turn wheel consumes nearly zero power
in comparison to the chipset, backlight, radio, gps, etc. ...

Power off backlight?

Hi!
I am looking for tweak or application which turns off backlight - not just dim the display to lower level after some time.
I want to completely turn off backlight to 0% and when the screen is tapped the backlight is on again.
Any solution for this?
ya core player does that...even tcmp player

If in Setup>Power supply>Advanced click on "Deactive device when not run for"
this setup turns off all display lights after minute that you set and in the same time blocks all keys.
To reactivate the handheld just press the power button.
I find this setup very useful.
Exscuse me because I have not an english ROM and I don't know if I have made a right translation of commands.
Thanks luigug, but that is how I configure my device from start.
The point is that I dont want to press power button again to activate device, just to tap on screen and use slide to unlock application.
Any other clues?
Thanks
you are right, this is a major design mistake in wm6 "features", and all wm6 devices suffer from it. This behaviour actualy make the native windows Device lock function unusable. Also, wm is much more stable if you never suspend it, and battery performance is almost the same.
I even searched for a wm5 downgrade rom for my eten m800 (wm5 does not have the dimming "feature"), but without success.
I still hope someone will manage to get a fix for this to function like in the wm5 days (my mio a701 was able to do it easely). Maybe we should make a wish topic in development section ?
