I noticed in my instruction manual i should be able to get a screen orientation icon on my today screen so i can change between landscape and portrate. can some please help me on how to get this icon to show. Maybe im just doing something silly but i can figure it out!
thanks
That functionality is missing from the current O2 UK Orbit rom - the instruction manual was written before the current rom was finalised
maybe this?
Hi thanks for your fast reply's. I tried to install thats cab but i just said install unsuccessful? maybe not compatable? So the rom version iv got is not finished? Is there a rom version with this feature available?
Sorry to be a pain.
landscape
If its any help, you can just go to Settings and Screen, and set orientation to landscape. To make it easier, I assign a hardware button to it (holding the record button for a long time) Works good for me, given that there is no icon.
Anyone else had any luck with this? I'd love an easier way to change orientation of the screen, but I've tried running the CAB file (as well as tweaking the registry myself), but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas?
I've got an 02 XDA Orbit.
Cheers,
Tim
I have done the same and revled no such luck, again i would ask ditto to the post above.
I'm loving NFSFAN's new Bell ROM, but i'm not crazy about the slide to answer on the phone canvas.
I'm looking for a way to replace the slide to answer / ignore with buttons instead of a slider while keeping everything else the same.
I've researched different skins for this dialer (there are some cool looking ones out there!!) but none of these change the slider.
Any help would be appreciated.
This one works for me; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=429179. There is also a black version somewhere Google 'Black Minimal Dialer'
I've now been using NFSFAN's ROM for a few days now.
Must say i've gotten quite used to the dialer. I like all of the other features. Especially the "in call curtain". While i'm still not in love with slide to answer I understand the concept of why it was created. If I want to press a button that's what the hardware key is for!!
I wasn't really looking for a new dialer, but i've learnt the slide is an integral part of the package.
Thanks for the response anyways. You were the only one to do so. (everyone else was probably busy shaking their heads!!!)
now mine might sound like a really stupid question, but can I install the opal's slide to answer dialer on my sprint htc vogue ? are all the ## codes working for you on your phone ?
Yes, everything works (911 etc)
In NFSFAN's words, the data connection is not active during a call, it just breaks the data errors.
The dialer is included in his ROM, i'm not really sure if the same one is found anywhere in CAB format. A quick google search for "opal slide to answer CDMA" should yield some results for you.

thanks jmitr for your patient answer and the links to the solutions.. really really appreciate your patience and yes I just installed it and working fine now.. love the new dialer...
i spoke too sooon... i installed the complete cab by mbarvian and then tried juggaloo's cab but it was for VGA graphics, i tried mbarvian and conflippers cab but that messed up everything...
just mbarvians cab - didn't display the incall screen properly.... it was all greyed out...
now i can't find a single good cab which displays everything like it should... i don't want to do any more trial and error and find out... please help me on this ...
i dont mind not having the canvas - atleast i get a bigger picture on caller screen and thats all i want right now...
I know s2u2 has a large picture to answer the phone with.
I don't use it anymore, I found it drained my battery too fast. With NFSFAN's rom and the opal dialer it isn't really needed anyways.
Sorry none of the links led to anything fruitful, my only experience with this dialer is in the custom ROM. Must say it has grown on me though!!

I've been using this on my Sprint Touch for months now with out any issues. Here's a link for a post I have up at PPCGeeks for you to check out . Please let me know if you have any problems. If you don't want the lock feature, don't install Albert's cab...

I had trouble getting the dialer to work initially also. It seemed to be tied to the rom build that something changed after the 20XXX rom build was released. If I used anything earlier it wouldn't work. If your on a stock rom that may be part of the issue. Not sure, but just my experience in fixing the issue.
It is tied to a shell component.

Hey thanks for the reply NFSFAN, the slide to answer was the only part of your ROM that I didn't really like......at first. I couldn't imagine going back to the old dialer now.
It is good to learn what's possible and what's not though, thanks again for the answer.
Cheers,
Jason

Codes don't work for me on the verizon beta rom. Is it just me or do you have to use the folder rather than the dialer?
Hey Fellas,
Just got me hands on the new HTC Touch HD....wondering if anybody can give me the link or the software to change orientation to landscape in all applications....
I know this must be posted somewhere in the forum, if yes I am sorry to request again but I could not find it...
Any help would be much appriciated
Cheers
Those applications are related to the "g-sensor" of the device.
So thats a clue for what to search for.
I will name just a few of the applications that can control screen orientation:
FlipIt (integrated in many custom cooked ROMs (Davide's, Dutty's, etc.)) http://asapload.com/212485
ChangeScreen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468488
GSen
Gyrator
I have not experimented with all of them so I cannot recommend. You'll have to check and decide for yourself ... and share the experience here
Ok first off searched for a day or two and i could not find anything to help the problem that i have with my new tilt2. Its driving me crazy! i went from a touch pro(att fuze) to a tp2(att tilt 2) and the tp2 screen only goes to landscape when the keyboard goes out period, no landscape in photo or any thing tf3d at all. i installed gyrator and that works great in windows programs but not tf3d. Am i the only one who is having this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
I believe Gyrator doesn't work with TF3D. Try installing changescreen, enabling it (it's not enabled by default) and deleting "manila" as an exception on the exceptions tab. Save your configuration and you're good to go.
add these to your registry:
hkcu\software\htc\htcsensor\gsensor\modulename\
create a string named Manila with a value of \Windows\manila.exe
and
hkcu\software\htc\htcsensor\gsensor\whitelist\
creat a string named Manila with a value of Manila
great thanks alot for the help & i really appreciate it a bunch but but is there any way you can you Dumb it down a little bit for me? Please thanks hahahah

How much more dumbed down can it get?
Uninstall gyrator.
Download this program:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468488
Run the configuration program for it. Go to the exceptions page and select the options you want for Manilla. Save the settings. Soft reset.

Here install this ..
You should try alinging the screen first. Had the same prob . Did what Jack said to the reg to no avail. Then I remembered my 3 yr old jacked my tp2. He pressed his way to the align screen tab. I jus ok'ed out, never finishing the alingment. Then the screen stopped auto rotating. I jus alinged the screen and presto, the tf3d Today screen auto rotated by its self. So try it.

It was Jack's reg hack that made my today screen auto aling again and not the align screen utility. Sorry for waisting space.
I used to have an HTC Desire running Android 2.2 and it would render web site columns to fit the screen as I zoomed in and out which was great. The Nexus with ICS 4.01 and 4.02 doesnt seem to do this which is a pain. Is there a way to turn that on ? Am I missing somehting ?
thanks,
Seedar.
No one else have this issue ? To clarify it doesnt wrap text to fit the screen as my Froyo phone did.
my phone does wrap the text. but you just have to double tap the text to make it happen.
Great ! Simple but thats exactly what I needed to know ! Thanks !
cheers,
Seedar.
