Hi,
I've got a new phone so i'm only using my Orange M2000 as a PDA now.
Is there any way I can get it to connect to the internet over bluetooth as i've got unlimited data on my new Nokia phone.
As i'm no longer using it as a phone, I dont even mind installing a non-orange branded firmware if it's Orange that's removed the option and I have to.

I was wondering if it was possible to use the internet on an M2000, but rather than connecting itself, to use a bluetooth connection to another mobile phone and it's GPRS connection (such as an SPV C500).
Has anyone tried this?

Saw some earlier posts on this but haven't seen where anyone has figured out how to get the old WM5 wireless modem on WM6. Has that been done? For my applicaiton the new internet sharing simply won't work - or I haven't figured out how to get it to work anyway. I can connect to internet sharing just fine. I can get on the web and all works. However I have a tunnel application for my job that I need to use through the cell phone connection. When I start this applicaiton, the PC gives me the blue screen of death. It is repeatable. Doesn't happen with the WM5 wireless modem connection or any other connection to the internet I have ever tried - just this new internet sharing thing on WM6. I actually use the USB link so it isn't a bluetooth issue. Just something in the internet sharing that blows my PC up. Any thoughts would be appreciated - or a method to install the wirless modem on WM6. I'm using the standard ATT upgrade ROM - stock model.

My problem is this i need a mobile broadband solution for my laptop while i move into a temporay adress untill i move into a new house (in approx 1 months time).
Can i use my o2 xda as a modem with say for example a three payg mobile broadband simpack?. My xda is unlocked and has a cooked wm6 rom.
any suggestions/solutions most grateful

u need to plug in through usb cable then on pda click start programs then internet sharing but be prepared might cost you a fortune depending on tarrif.
Infact i did it through bluetooth follow steps as above (except usb cable) then on desktop right click on bluetooth symbol and i think it was join bluetooth network or summit good luck

Yes, connect to the PC via bluetooth then switch on internet sharing.
Works well, but watch the charges ...... better to buy a data bundle if you can.
If you have unlimited web access on your handset will it be free to use through the laptop?
this depends on how aggressively the carrier detects tethering, if they want to make a big deal out of it, they will have you for it...

So in order to use mobile phones internet on my android tablet,
i turn on my wildfires mobile portable hotspot, and succesfully connect my laptop to it through wifi. So the laptop gets internet from my mobile phone ...
But when i run internet explorer at tablet (any site), it keeps redirecting me to vodafone's prepaid mobile internet card site!!
I can't browse at all.
I test the same thing with an xperia ray (android v4) with the same carrier and worked just fine.
i talked to vadafone customer support and they couldnt help at all. (I believe that option is locked somehow by vodafone )
After that i succesfully rooted my phone, but the problem is still here..
i don't know what to do next.
I dont want to switch to custom rom yet because i read that there are lot of bugs.
Any ideas??
