Hello.
My XDA seems to be stuck in the bootload process. When I try to boot it, it brings up the RGB screen with the numbers and letters in the bottom right corner, and then stays there indefinantly. I tried the whole reset while holding record and camera, but now I just have a white screen, and it's doing nothing.
Is it possible for me to flash the ROM from this state? How do I go about fixing this problem?
I appreciate everyone's speed and reply.
Cheers!
Scratch that. Just needed a hard reset.

I just resurected my xda IIs from the grave and upon start I come to the Align screen stage. I follow the directions as usual but it just keeps asking for the taps over and over and over. It never passes the same five steps. I've tried different ROMs but they all stop there. Could it be caused by the little internal battery being dead? Is my digitizer crap? Is it martians? Are the forces of evil combining against me? Am I doomed?
I'd like to see this old guy work again.
Thanks for any tips in advance.

hard rest then hold the 2 buttons next to the volume slider only and press the rest button on the bottom using the stylus.this should take you to the 4 color screen with 3 options to be set
1st one leave as NO just press the top button
2nd option as yes by pressing the bottom button then press the top button to goto the 3rd
3rd option change to yes again by pressing the bottom button
then press the message button on the front that looks like an postal letter
this wil reset the options saved kind of like resetting a pc bios to manufacture defaults .
then try again to do the alignment.
I had similar when I flashed pdaviets rom to my blue angel and that resolved it
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I broke me screen tinkering with it so I'm not able to test your idea.
I started with two LCDs one with a bad digitizer and one with a broken screen. I touch the digitizer off the one a replaced the other so that I had a working screen but then I had the problem listed above. Before I saw your response I thought I might have some dirt or something under the screen causing it to not work so I took it apart but I guess I was just a little too rough this time and cracked the LCD
I'll have to find a new LCD if I plan to resurrect this phone.
Thanks anyways for the help

I´ve tried everything with my XDA III PH20B1 - no camera model -, but I never get the 3 options screen. Just the 4 colors and bottom right the radio version R 1.10.00.
Is there any other way how to make my O2 XDA III boot after the WM6.1 upgrade ( from 2003se) ?
I have the same problem (I have already reply in another thread...), I am still trying to fix it. I suspect from the backup battery, since before I hard reset my SX66 all programs lost their configuration when I turn off and on again my SX66, and when I tried to realign the screen the align cycle repeated forever. Then I tried hard resetting, reflashing to various OS's and I can not pass the initial calibration screen.
Please keep me posted if someone have found the way to solve it.
Thanks !
no need to upgrade or delete anything from bios, this is not a cause of motherboard and software.I removed the motherboard and essembled in a working screen phone.there is no problem all ok,its not a problem with backup battery too. Then i changed working phone motherboard to cant align phone but same as before it dsnt align. Therefore in my investigation its a problem with the touch or screen.
its not a problem with screen cover too.
If any knows the exact solution for align problem screen ,please post it.
eway - press the power/stand by and leave for 15-30secs
then pen reset, press [cam] + [rec] as the 4 colour screen comes on and change 2/3 - as previously stated countless times - press [mail] to reset - this will reboot your new rom.
touch flo user manual is a little allusive
but, soo much too test, soo little time

I for 1 would be very interested, too see. . .
post a link, please!!
How to bypass Align Screen?
If you have flashed a proper rom/ hard reset your device, there could be some dust on display which won't let the align screen pass. This is a real annoying feature on WM platform. But guess there are always ways to bypass software related issues.
The display can be cleaned by patting a small amount of water on it, and then running the water along with a visiting card on the edges of the screen. This will take off all the dust on the sides, and will let you pass the align screen easily. You can simply wipe the display propely with a glass cleaner.
If this doesn't help then :
When your phone says align screen, connect the phone with computer and get it detected in Active Sync. Next, you could be able to access Tree/Files on your phone. If you are able to do so, then go to startup and delete files directing to Align Screen, if I remb it was "welcome" something. Delete the file, and there won't be any align screen.
or
You can always go for an easier method. Download Code Factory's Remore Screen Alignment (http://www.codefactory.es/en/downloads.asp?id=108). And simply enjoy.
In both of the case, active connection with Active Sync is important. If you are unable to connect your phone, then I believe there ain't any way other than changing the display.
Hope it helps.

O2 Flame
Hello everybody,
I've got a serious problem with my 2 years old O2 Flame: sometimes, when I reboot my pda, I can't realign the screen. And when I can do it, after a while, the left of the screen doesn't respond, or, when I click on it, it's another part of the screen that answers! I flashed the bios already: nothing changed.
@Gerd
Did you try Remote Screen Alignment?
Sonny
wow, that tool is awesome. My digitizer is cracked.

Try steps from this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1769443&postcount=1
This is for HTC Wizard, but it should work.
Hi,
my XDA Orbit have the screen off.
I can activesync the PC, and I can flash the engine.
Now I have the original OS from O2 but the screen is off.
I suppose that the screen is not broken because sometimes is on (yesterday the screen show the HTC logo screen) but it doesn´t work.
I can access to bootloader mode too but I can´t see something on the screen, I don´t see the three colors on the screen, it is black and it don´t work.
When I power on the Orbit it syncs with the PC but the screen continues black.
I made soft reset and hard reset but it didn´t make something. I flashed it with others OS but nothing.
I don´t know what can I do.
help me, please
thank you
I had an issue like that waaaay back. Though mine was to do with the baclight settings, I just tried to navigate to backlight settings while out in the sun.
This doesnt seem to be your problem though as you say you have actually managed to flash new ROM to it?
will it be a software or/and a hardware problem?
thanks
Probably hardware as you say you have flashed new ROMs to it and still it shows nothing,
Suddenly my O2 XDA Oribt with Black and Blue ROM won't boot past the splash screen - after the splash screen the screen goes black and the phone shuts off. I thought that my battery may not be charging so I bought a new battery, charged it with a stand alone charger - same results. Next I thought that a hard reset might do the trick so I held down the two soft keys and reset with my stylus but again I boot into the splash screen and then the screen becomes black. Somebody please suggest my next step?
Thanks so much for any help you can give.

Enter in bootloader mode:
Wiki: "The bootloader is invoked by pressing down the Power and Voicedialer buttons simultaneously, and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button at the left side. Continue pressing the two buttons for a few seconds after pressing and releasing the reset button until the bootloader screen appears."
Then try to flash another ROM.
If it doesn't work, then you might have a faulty Hardware...
Cheers
Hey guys.
So I got this Galaxy S II SGH-T989D from my friend, he just gave it to me.
Anyways, I think it is soft bricked. When I stick the battery in, it turns on, displays the samsung logo, then says Koodo with a loading bar underneath. Once the loading bar is complete the screen just goes black, and the device will vibrate every 2 seconds.
Don't really know how to reset this.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks!

if you can go download mode please flash a stock firmware for t989d and flash it using odin.. get the stock firmware from samfirmware.com if u wish.. goodluck
Thanks Ill try!
Okay when I try it put it in download mode, it displays the warning screen about installing a new firmware blah blah, and then before I can do anything the screen flashes, I see blue and then it just goes back to a black screen and vibrating.
When all else fails I suggest opening Kies on your computer and selecting "emergency firmware recovery"

Sounds to me like a power button problem, not a firmware problem. Could be wrong, but the black screen and vibrating sound like the tell-tale symptoms. Check this thread out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931310&highlight=power+button
There are many, many threads about this.
Okay so I took the entire phone apart and removed the power button. I tried booting then, and it still does it.
So it is definitely not a button sticking issue
Same issue
I'm having the exact same issue. I've also disassembled my phone and have ruled out the button issue. All fix guides I've encountered thus far require the "volume up + volume down + power button" boot method which is non-responsive on my phone. It continues to vibrate every two seconds. The furthest I get is have halfway through the Samsung load screen before the screen goes black.

it sounds like it might be a bootloader problem, I can't seem to find the thread right now but I know i just saw it on here that a guy in oregon will reset you bootloaders for $25(you pay for shipping), but there was a few people on there also saying that he had done a great job fixing theres. he works for a shop that repairs mobile devices, you should look through the general and q&a for bootloader issue threads i know its in there somewhere.
Hi there its really hard for me to explain but ill post a pic of what I need help with.... Help now would be better.... How do i get my phone to start up and work again? it wont reboot... It just gets stuck at HTC screen... It wont factory reset, or recover anything.....

OK so my friend tried to unlock my phone but in the middle of the process the internet got cut and ever since then my phone wont turn on all it will do is go to the HTC white screen and stay there until i hold the power key and the volume down button down then it brings up that page i posted with my original question.... I have tried downloading a bunch of the links off this site but none seem to be the full ones.. or something because it wont let me do anything.... It also wont connect to my computer I have updated drivers and everything but i have the memory card that im going through...
What tool / method did your friend try to use when the internet got cut off?
When it goes to the white screen does it vibrate, how many times does it vibrate?
Edit: as bixscotte said, don't post in multiple threads. Not only does it lead to confusion, it's frowned upon.

I didnt realize the first one posted... So that's why there is 2 posts... Im new to this site and I still need to learn how to use it... So as soon as i figure out how to delete the other add i will. When just pushing the power button it vibrates once and turns on right away to the white screen with green htc Writing....
First we need to make sure your computer recognizes your cell phone.
Search for the fastboot commands to check if there is connectivity.
If not, delete the htc drivers, reboot, install the drivers again or just download the standalone adb drivers which ought to be roaming around xda somewhere.

It meana you have custom recovery installed but because your bootloader relocked, you cannot mount any partition for flashing custom rom.
