I try to upgrade ROM by SER-v1.2 for my ET180,
When I run XDA-developers-SER-v12.exe,
error occur:
ERROR: GetDeviceData - Unspecific error
error getting devicedata
does anyone know the reason?

I think the problem is, that the ET180 isn't a HTC Wallaby device.
Never heard this name before......

i'm having the same problem. ive got many roms. all of them are showing the same errors. its synced in properly. iam running 1.66 on my O2 XDAII . ive cooked up my own rom which i want to install. or maybe 1.60. 1.66 is not stable, i'm having a lot of problems with sound & missed calles etc.

Are you trying to flash your XDA II with a cooked ROM made for XDA I ??!!
no ... whichever rom i try... i get the same problem...
1. i double click the rom exe file.
2. a small dos window opens up, where i presume its trying to get some data from the phone.. it shows... FAILED TO GET DATA FROM PHONE...
3. the installation window open .... when i click NEXT.. it shows error getting data from phone. please check USB connection etc..
i phone is synced properly before i start the installation. i tried it by disabling the sync as well.
i even tried the i-mate 1.72 rom version . same thing. i even tried the A3.09 cooked rom for wm2003.
whats going wrong? is there a way i can run the exe on the phone itself, by transfering it to the documents file or something???
please let me know.. wierd thing is that i've got my O2 XDA II with 1.66 & not 1.60. i actually want to put 1.60, but when i log onto myxda.com & try downloading it, it says ur phone does not need to download it as it got a latat verion already installed.(obviously ive registered my phone there with my imei no)
any ideas?? please let me know. 1.66 is not stable & im having lots of problems with the sound. & sometimes i get a call, but my phone does not ring.
all this started with SBP's software.. especially Phone Plus II.
since ive removed it, its better but yet not good enough. maybe i should just do a hard reset. But how many times can i keep doing that??

I 'm totally confused!! ... which ROM you are using to flash which device ??!!!
cooked WM2003 ROMs (like 30.09 and 4.01.16) are made for only Wallaby devices (XDA I) ... the 1.60, 1.66, 1.72 ... etc are made for only Hymalia devices (XDA II) .... now what is the exact error you get when you are doing exactly what ?

When attempting to update the rom of my trinity i get the 270 error. I am updating from default HTC rom.
Error 270 : update error
The image file is corrupted. Please check your update utility.
I have tried with several roms and to no avail.
Anyone have a solution?

Just run the ROM again. It will work. Do not unplug your sync cord

I get the same problem. However, when I run the ROM update the second time it works perfectly. There is another link somewhere that says the same exact thing..

Strange. With me the updater stops at 1% every time.. and the the phone restarts..

Did you use CID Unlock,hardspl?
Start it off by down that,once you unlock the phone,hardspl and restart pc and trinity,this might work.

Try going to the Artemis forum instead of the trinity forum.
However, I happen to know that you will always get this if you do not use the USPL for the ROM each time you flash your artemis. They are difficult compared to the Trinity. Last time I updated an artemis there was no Hard SPL remover (SPL is Service Providor Lock by the way) (ie you could not run an updater that will let you update your device with any ROM in the future). you need to run USPL every time before flasing your phone.

I'm having problem upgrading my phone from PDXHL2 to PDXIB1 ROM with the error message on the version thing. Totally clueless on this as I upgraded my phone to the PDXHL2 using the original ROM downloaded from SAMSUNG earlier this year...
When I trigger the PDXIB1, it gives out the error message of the Version check after I click on the Verify Device button. Any ideas, please?
Another funny thing is that when I try to reflash again my phone to the PDXHL2 (I'm using the same file that was used earlier this year), it gives me the same version check error message???!!!
Any help would be highly appreciated and thanks...
try to flash back to DXHH1 both rom and phone via mirage then reflash with PDXIB1 via Samsung loader
strange, but i think the reason could be that previously before i upgraded to PDXHL2 ROM, the version on my phone/pda is i780DXHH1... then after i flash the ROM to PDXHL2 the version is reported as i780PDXHL2... there is an extra 'P' there...
guess this might be the issue when the updater program from SAMSUNG check the version is not i780DX series anymore, but i780PDX series... thus validation for DX phone failed... zzzz maybe this could be the issue i guess... zzzz :sigh:

you have to open the official upgraderEXE-file with a hex-editor, scroll near to the bottom of the file, there must be something like i780DXIB1. now you have to change it to i780DXHL1, save, that´s it. have fun!"
does it mean after u do that u can now update the rom tow m 6.5?

this morning I was intended to revert my kaiser back to WM 6.1,
I followed the instruction to put the ROM to my SD card along with KAISDIAG.nbh.
but maybe I chose a wrong rom, as the process goes, I just realize that the process was deleting my hard SPL..
now the text my 3 color display only says "SPL-1.56.0000"
but the android is still working....
so now my phone run on android without hard SPL...
could anyone help me? is it possible to install a hard SPL from android?
flashing from SD card doesn't works because I don't have any hard SPL installed..
There is no way at present to install hardspl from android, since we cannot run jumpspl, however you should still be able to flash a stock 6.1 rom using usb method.

I have tried, but the process always failed with connection notification.It says that update utility cannot connect with my pda phone.
Well the problem is, flashing with usb method needs activesync connection with the computer. since microsoft activesync doesn't applicable anymore, I have no idea how to build connection with my phone. Besides, nothing seems happened every time I connect my phone with usb cable. Its just like my pc couldn't detect the device.
Should I install some kind of programs first on my pc? or am I miss some steps to make my phone detected by my computer?
I'm using windows xp by the way..
The CustomRUU still works for me if you boot the phone into SPL first (reset and camera+power buttons) then plug it into the computer and run the RUU (no activesync connection), so you should be able to flash a WM ROM, then you can sort out the HardSPL later
EDIT: Or does that only work for me because I have already got HardSPL?
yes it works..
the process goes, but only for 1 % . my phone reset itself and the notification on my pc says about invalid vender ID "this update utility cannot be used for your PDA phone, please check your update utility."
since the only stock rom that I found is .exe which is extract itself, I couldn't use The CustomRUU. Could this be the problem? or do I choose a wrong rom?

I have visited that thread before, actually the 1st ROM that I tried to flash is also from that page. Both original ROMs for HTCor ATT doesn't works for my phone. But thanks to you I just realize the link about some reconstructed original ROMs.
Well, My phone is KAIS-100 which is made in Taiwan.
I guess I'll try Chinesse HTC 1.56.708.3.

aww... still not working..
with reconstructed ROM, the process stuck at 0%, give me error [262] notification : update error. The manual said that if this kind of error occurred, I just need to do soft reset and run RUU again. I have tried several times even restart my pc first, but still not working.. any suggestion?
Try to flash radio. If you can't do it i think that you have messed up the bootloader

So, the lesson is :
If you are trying to flash back to windows mobile, DO NOT use factory shipped rom. Because it will modify your hard SPL and downgrade your radio version.
If the process failed and your hard SPL gone, you will get stuck in half working android without being able to flash anything, including correct your radio version, or reflash your kernel to fix your panel setting.

You can extract the exe file with winrar and you'll have all the files including RUU_signed.nbh
Rename it to kaisimg.nbh and copy to sdcard
Don't know if you can install from sdcard but since it's the shipped rom it might let you.

Flashing via SD card got me stuck at loading screen, and I also tried to use custom RUU to flash the files via usb but my phone reset itself at 1% of the process and gives me error message [294] : invalid vender ID.

Finally
after days of yearning..
I found a suitable WM 6.1 ROM for my kaiser.
My phone is KAIS 100 HTC P4551. Usually, KAIS 100 model is for AT&T but mine is HTC branded, so that's why AT&T stock ROM won't works and my phone was originally shipped for US, that's why most of WWE stock ROMs always give me error 294.
So, basically I have to use HTC WWE ROM for US and this is really gives me hard time since HTC US website only provide ROM for AT&T.
In case you have same problem with me, I have uploaded the ROM at rapidshare
and you could find it here.
Now, I can flash a hardSPL, fix my radio version....
and flash back to android..

i tried to install ( nk.nbf) a windows 6.1 on my old but brand new device
at first it went through and struck at 6%
dont know what is the issue
i tried mtty
i tried removing battery removing card
tried disabling wces and tried hard soft every single effort.
cant get through 6%...
see attachments...
i know its simple problem but cant get through
neither i found those stock roms i required to re flash to stock eg 2003
Any help...?
please i have tried all tutorials, but correct direction will sort it out..
