XDA dead on rom update

Hi
I have just tried to update the rom on my xda exec (downloaded from the o2 microsite) it seems to load fine, but when i do a reboot I just get a wierd green & red speckled screen.
I have tried to update the rom twice now, once when the xda was on, & once from the bootloader screen.
Both times it seems to install correctly, but i get the strange screen.
HELP!!!
Add. My battery seemed to go to about 30% whilst i was updating. Could it be the battery? Can't charge it now to test. Can still get in bootloader screen.

I have exactually the same problem!
I downloaded the latest ROM from the My-XDA webiste (O2 Ireland) and it supports the XDA Exec as sold in UK and Ireland.
The upgrade goes fine but when I hard reset it just get a fuzzy screen full of red/green spots (lise interferance on a TV).
Have reinstalled the ROM from another PC and the same thing.
Can access the bootloader (v2.01) with no problem.
Have downloaded the ROM from another PC and tried from there and same thing?
Can anyone help?
Is there a known good ROM file that someone has used to rule out the file, as the XDA was fine until I ran the update.

Update
I have tried 2 other ROM's on my XDA Exec and its exactually the same issue.
Once it gets flashed successfully and reboots i get the hazed screen which i cannot use. So its not the ROM file.
Has anyone got help with this, I have searched the posts already and found no solution that it why I have posted this thread.

So its not just me then! Thought I had cocked it up.
If this has already come up in these forums, I cant find it. Please at least send link to the previous problem if it is in here somewhere.

the screen is funky but the xda is dead
I too am having this problem and am getting very frustrated.
I have searched the forum for hours and am not getting any closer to a sollution.
If anyone has resolved this problem in the past please send me a private message. I will love you forever if you do.

I had the same problem i think its a dodgy rom on the O2 website
I went into boot mode and used this ROM

Works a treat and is loads better than the normal o2 Rom

IT WORKED!
Not sure how, or why this worked.
But i installed the Crossbow ROM as listed previous and its working.
And can I just say the Exec is brillant now, its much faster, more responsize and works perfectly.
Thanks for the info, but I had tried 2 different ROM's previously and they never worked let I used one previously with no problems.
Either way I am now staying with Mobile 2006.

i have the same problem as you guys.
and more i can get my xda exec in to bootloader usb at the top and v2.01 at the bottom
but when i got to update it with the wm6 upgerade mentioned earlier
i get a connection error, please con somee one help
im using vista could this be the problem i have a hdd around some where that has xp on should i try that.
also i dont know is any of you knew but when ur in that messed up screen
if you press the lightbuld button a sort of i guess diagnostics or somthing screen pops up

you can change the no/yes's iv only got the enable kitl to do anything though. change it to yes buy using the buttons by the screen and then the center button it take you to the screen below

Select KITL Mode:
ACTIVE
PASSIVE
any help with this will be appreciate

where can we find that crossbow wm6?????is that the one thats needed???

Hi..
When attempting to update the rom of my trinity i get the 270 error. I am updating from default HTC rom.
Error 270 : update error
The image file is corrupted. Please check your update utility.
I have tried with several roms and to no avail.
Anyone have a solution?

Just run the ROM again. It will work. Do not unplug your sync cord

I get the same problem. However, when I run the ROM update the second time it works perfectly. There is another link somewhere that says the same exact thing..

Strange. With me the updater stops at 1% every time.. and the the phone restarts..

Did you use CID Unlock,hardspl?
Start it off by down that,once you unlock the phone,hardspl and restart pc and trinity,this might work.

Try going to the Artemis forum instead of the trinity forum.
However, I happen to know that you will always get this if you do not use the USPL for the ROM each time you flash your artemis. They are difficult compared to the Trinity. Last time I updated an artemis there was no Hard SPL remover (SPL is Service Providor Lock by the way) (ie you could not run an updater that will let you update your device with any ROM in the future). you need to run USPL every time before flasing your phone.

Error 202 Hard-SPL Update

I am very frustrated with my HTC Touch Diamond as I am trying to update it to Hard-SPL yet when it's plugged into the computer (with active sync running) and I follow all the directions very closely, I go to update the phone and it doesn't show any activity on the phone, the progress bar on my computer screen shows 0%, then it eventually pops up with a message saying Error 202. This is a connection error, yet I am positive that the phone is plugged into the computer. Please HELP!

Hello, Did you run SSPL first? You can only flash hard spl when sspl is active it is a black screen.

I have a Telus HTC Touch, does that make a difference on whether or not this will work?

your diamond is cdma. these only work with gsm.

so by the word 'these' in the last post, you mean that the Rom updates won't work?

I don't think SPL has to do anything with CDMA or GSM. Some ROMs have an option in the phone settings to choose either GSM or CDMA.
ryanseyz: Make sure you have a factory ROM ready before trying the cooked ones here so when things happen unexpectedly, you always have a choice. Next, there are 2 versions of SPL here, try both. Make sure you install EnableRAPI.cab and CertSPCS.cab installed on your device.

anyone has a solution for this yet? I'm experiancing the same problem with my Touch Pro, can't seem to get it to work.
I installed both files like mentioned above but still give error 202.
The funny thing is it does recognize the current version of my rom (stock).

The same here with my mda compact iv. I've tried all versions of the RUU of hardSPL with no result (error 202). When I update the official rom of t-mobile (1.93) with the RUU, there isn't a connection problem and everything goes well.
My device is not simlocked, but i suspect it has a security lock or something like that.

I'm not sure, but if i'm not wrong i had the same 202 error code last time i tried to reflash original (stock) spl, for warranty reasons. I solved the problem flashing stock spl (from hspl 1.93 olinex) with the phone conencted to activesync: run sspl-manual.exe from the device (previously copy sspl-manual on the device): the phone will go to black screen; than run the normal romupdateutility.exe from pc, and follow ordinary instructions.

Hard SPL 262 Error

Hello all.
I have just bought an o2 Xda Ignito (aka HTC TOUCH DIAMOND).
I want to flash it to a cooked rom. And after reading up about it on this site, it would seem that I would need to install HSPL onto my device.
Well that is where the problem lies. I get the 262 error when trying to flash it with HSPL. I have even tried to do it the manual way (placing the SSPL onto the device, run it, then install it via my computer.
I still have no luck. I have tried this more than enough times with no joy...
I've read up on a few threads with the 262 error with no joy.
It just sticks on 0% and then the above error comes up. I can't understand why it wont work.
If you need any information let me know.

I'm using this one

But I have tried 2 different HSPL versions.
One of them gave me the white loading screen and then it just froze
The other just gives me a black screen and stays black, although one time i did get the phone to show the % bar on the screen, but that froze on 0% too :\.

You could try this 1.93 (HERE) if not done so already.
Run this from your PC - during the process a message appears on you device screen asking to run an .exe (select yes) the the process should start. You may find that nothing appears to happen for a while, which is not the case.
Please do not do anything until you see the processed completely finished or the system error out.

There is no need for me to search - HE DOES NOT HAVE A TOUCH DIAMOND 2 - What he owns is a carrier customised Diamond (1st diamond) FFS.

got a brand new unused Vodafone V1620 (PH20B2)
i tried to install ( nk.nbf) a windows 6.1 on my old but brand new device
at first it went through and struck at 6%
dont know what is the issue
i tried mtty
i tried removing battery removing card
tried disabling wces and tried hard soft every single effort.
cant get through 6%...
see attachments...
i know its simple problem but cant get through
neither i found those stock roms i required to re flash to stock eg 2003
Any help...?
please i have tried all tutorials, but correct direction will sort it out..
