I have tried searching everywhere but i cannot find anyone with a similar problem.
I have an o2 XDA 2s which so far has been the best phone PDA i have used.
However, I have one small problem sometimes which happens about once in every ten calls i answer or dial, I cant hear anything the person on the other end is saying and they cant hear me too, althought the phone shows im connected and the call duration works as well. However, I am able to make/recieve calls as normal if i do a soft reset which takes about 2 mins, rather irritating. Has anyone had a similar experience? Its just so fustrating when the phone is such a superb phone that this rather small problem happens.
Please can someone advise me on what the best thing to do is, I have tried a hard reset but this has not solved anythinga and the problem remains.
Should i try upgrade using the upgrades provided for the XDA 2S on the o2 site? i understand this flashes the ROM or something. Is this easy to do and is there a chance of doing worse damage when flashing? also my XDA which is an O2 phone is unlocked onto all networks, i.e. orange, tmobile, vodafone, does this mean if i flash the rom that i will lose the unlocked networks and be stuck on O2? I would be very grateful if someone could advise a newby as to how i could rectify this problem on what otherwise is a superb phone.
Thanks
rio
Try keeping Bluetooth ON all the time. Check if problem still occures...

When I sometimes receive or make a call on my XDAIIs, I find I can't hear anything at my end. I have to reset the XDA and then retry my phone call and it then seems to work. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know how to fix this issue ?
Any help would be gratefully aprreciated as resetting the phone every 2 days or so is doing my nut in !! I've upgraded my OS to latest version using the supplied download by O2.

:? my qtek9090 phone since ive got it about 4 months ago, i noticed that the phone sometimes does not work properly. Sometimes the other person on the other line cant hear me, nor at times as well i cant hear the other person on the other line. I have to soft reset the phone always when this happens. Is this natural?
P.S. I love this phone but sometimes its annoying.
Welcome along - the Blue Angel does this - rather than a full reset turn the BT On then OFF and you will find the audio works next time you need it - pain but far quicker than a reset - The new O2 ROM download does seem to cure this problem I have run the O2XDAIIs for five days with no lockups since loading the new ROM so perhaps they have sorted this out - Mike
Thanks
Thanks mate, i guess ill have to live with it. I like this phone as it is very useful to my work and studies. Though a pain in the ass when going out with friends on parties.
:?: (My problem is im in orange, and not an O2 customer, do you think it would work?)
i'm using o2 rom on a pda2k, no problems
i'm using O² asian ROM on my MDA III works fine...
howdy folks
thanks for the great site.
ive had my BA for over a year...despite the occassional hangup it works fairly well. however all of a sudden when i try to make an outgoing call other than to my voicemail i get 3 beeps and the call is then ended. the weird thing is that this doesnt happen all of the time and with no apparent pattern.
i cant understand why this is happening as i havenet changed any of the software / network.
please help me !! i'm very tempted to see how many pieces i can break it into with one throw.

That is the behaviour of a network barred handset.
Richard
hey thanks for the reply
however there is no reason for my phone to be network barred ! i bought the phone while on the o2 network, had it unlocked and have been on vodafone for over a year with it working fine. i understand if it was barred it would block all my calls (maybe except vmail). thing is the 3 beeps i get are intermittant and dont happen with every call.
do you think it could be something to do with changes to vodafone and the way the xda works with vodafone. i'm not a techie person, but even this reason sounds unlikely to me.
any further ideas would be appreciated
many thanks

oh yeah...forgot to mention...i've had the phone since new and am the 1st and only owner of it
i get this sometimes also... and i think mine has to do with wm5, but im not for sure....
ok but i'm running WM2003se
is there anything that you do to your mobile to get it to dial out?
does anyone think that a rom upgrade or a radio upgrade may solve my problem?
Please see the email that I sent to O2, but have not received any update yet. I basically wanted to check whether the old ROM would fix the problem below. Could you please help me get the 20060614 version of ROM for XDA Exec (India), and would I be able to install the old version over an existing new version?? Please help.....
I bought my XDA atom exec sometime last month. I updated my phone to the current ROM, and since then I am having some problems with my keypad. I am not sure why?? I tried soft rest, hard reset. Basically sometimes the down arrow key and the disconnect button stops working. You might say that this could be a hardware problem, but when I try to hard reset it asks me to press both Connect + Disconnect buttons at once, and when I do it, it works!! everytime!! I have tried this atleast 5 times immdeiately after the key stops working....just to make sure that I am trying it when the problem is actually there..I am really upset at this problem. And the keys start WORKING by itself after sometime...
another major problem is the sound?? I dont know why O2 tecnicians are not able to rectify this problem? When I am on call the other person says that the sound mutes every now and then, and I have made sure that it is not becoz of the network in the area, and vice versa too....I can't hear what the other person is saying, its not audible enough?? Is there any plan to get this fixed any time soon?? Or is there any registry tweak?? Please help me with these 2 major problems!! If this not the right department please forward it to the right department.
I checked your web site and there is no service center in our area. And I cannot afford to drop my mobile at the collection center for it to be sent to another city and wait for about a week??
I have a problem with one mobile phone I call. Often that phone suffers bad feedback, making it impossible for the user to hear me. I hear nothing untoward in my handset. Recently that user changed phones (from Nokia to a HTC) and still gets the problem. Suggest then my One V is at fault.
I plan to carry out a group test with several phones to try and recreate the issue. Has anyone else suffered this problem?

no i dont think it is at fault..
the same happened with my phone but the problem vanished on its own after a day or two..guess that's the network problem of ur operator..
but still you can try to change the network mode to "gsm only" when its on auto mode this problem occours
hope it helped..
Hi Pranev
Thanks for the suggestion. I will try that.
You think this change should be made on my phone or the phone that gets the feedback?
