Just bought the Qtek S200 after having the imate JAM. My machine seems to hang and is very slow.
In simple terms. because Im no that clever when it comes to these things..how can I upgrade my ROM if I need to and is it possible to speed it up.
My curent version is:
ROM version: 2.9.7.24 WWE
ROM date: 2/9/2006
Radio version: 02.07.20
Protocol version: 413.1.03
Ext ROM version: 2.9.7.106
Any help would be greatfully received.

I've just upgraded to a Dopod 818 English ROM and it's working fine. Previously I had a S200 German ROM. The system is very stable and only sometimes a bit slow. But this is because of the processor speed of the S200.

(to keep overclocking after wakeup) is all that you need.
BTW reflashing firmware with latest Dopod (or Jamin) is not good idea to solve only speed problem.
Be _very_ carefull and read all bug reports and downgrade problems _before_ reflash decision!

P.S. I have the same device and rom version overclocked to 240 Mhz without any hangon and still waiting new Qtek FW (OS 2.15.7.37)

Hi all,
I was very busy in these last month and I couldn't being informed about last ROM avaible, official one and home-made one too.
On my JasJar I installed UNI_QTEK_WWE_13077_130176_10900_WWE_Ship
(that should be an home-made one) because it was stable and cleaned, I mean without unuseful software added, and it had A2DP profile too.
Now I would like to upgrade my ROM, because I suppose there should be more improvments...so wich one can you suggest me? What is the best ROM around , stable and with A2DP included?

i found I-mate JASJAR Rom on /ftp, 1.31.79_164_10900 WWE and still AKU2.0 :x
i think not much improvement than previous ROM..don't know about A2DP, coz i don't have bluetooth Stereo ..

Maybe...but what AKU3 ROM Alpha added more than AKU2 did? Is there a step by step to test safely AKU3 ROM Alpha?
I was wondering if it should be better to install last official AKU2 IMate ROM and anableing A2DP profile with that procedure that doesn't mind what ever AKU2 ROM you have installed...if I remenber well there suold be a post about how activate A2DP, but I can't remember where...

I am new to this forum and to this hardware and I am trying to find some help regarding rom upgrade to my unit.

upgrade it to Jwrightmcps new rom 1.90.96 WWE
and expect much better speed and additional featues which are built in the rom like usb hard disc, CompactFramework 2.0 SP1... etc etc

Have tryed every firmware on this site (full collection i have tryed below)
And it works fine. You can always go back to original firmware (download from my library below)

The best way to find out is flashing various ROM´s to find the best that suit your needs.

I am new to this forum. And i just wanted to know, out of all these rom updates which rom update is most suitable and stable for my imate JASJAR. When i was younger i downloaded an update which made my JASJAR WM6 but it is sort of laggy and has slight problems with recieving calls sometimes.
So, can i please get anyone's opinions, particularly people who have experience with this or even people who own an Imate JASJAR and have updated their own device..

jasjar is the same as Dopod 900 / Qtek 9000 / SFR v1640 / Vodafone v1640 / Vodafone VPA IV / T-Mobile MDA Pro / O2 Xda Exec / Orange SPV M5000 / Grundig GR980 / E-Plus PDA IV. So yes you are in the right section

i have loaded the rom onto my Uni, synced all the contacts etc. BUT when i activate pin number, it says type in your pin number. I typed it in, (ie the pin number i used b4 rom update), but it doesnt recognise it.
Does this mean, there is a problem or has the pin number gone back to default?????

I think it's a polish? version of Qtek, because at start it shows Era logo and also have Era logo on the top.
I don't know if it's important. Anyway wm is in english. I would like to make it faster if it's possible. I read a little, found rom comparision, but there is a lot of them to choose from. Which will be the best for my device ??
