A weird one, and yes - I am waiting c 1 min after each action to let info be 'written' to memory...
Upgraded to the new, speedy ROM - but discovered that when I now go to put in my 3-4 other IMAP4 email accounts, all details are lost on soft reset.
Leaving me with just Text Messages / Outlook email / MMS options in 'Switch Accounts'.
Help! - never had this happen before - happily had 4 IMAP accounts on the go.
Could this be related to the MMS issue (I don't actually use MMS)
Thanks
(one other thing - when you go to Optoins - Change settings, the only accounts listed are 'Text Messages' and 'New Account...')

OK, sorted -- it turns out that you have to leave the thing to write the new details to RAM for ... ages.
Longer than before, I think!
Other Faults
This seemes to be a major probelm, as it effects alot more than adding new accounts, when you reviced a message or email etc.. it takes ages to wright that to memory, so when you get a text message and soft reset you can lose all the info.
I am hoping this is fixed very soon as it is not acceptable for a device that costs to much! i might be going back to my Imate Jam if this isn't sorted soon.

...please!
Very please with my setup now, LOADS faster and more stable than before (I also learned to install ALL progs to my 4GB SD card!). 1.14.10 radio seems to behave, wakes up quicker I think, good call quality, not sure if better signal but no complains so far. Blank Ext rom and AKU 3.5 mean very 'fresh and lively' feel to the phone, not the horrible slow responding crashing thing of old.
Excuse if I have missed a previous thread but few issues remain:
I cannot, no matter how I try, get Vodafone live or Vodafone MMS to work. I fixed this before by flashing a vodafone EXT Rom but I want to keep this clean. I have all the cabs from a vodafone UK EXT, I'm guessing it's just one of them that is the MMS settings/customisation - can anyone help or offer a workaround? Getting GPRS up is easy but Vodafone is funny even with the settings MMS can't be had (researched this issue before, seems like an issue - they probably fix it by customising the phone in their EXT rom).
Second problem, I have one email account (in my outlook PC) that I also use on the move via IMAP. I want my ONE email account on my pda, when synced, to copy the emails and if needed retrieve them via imap when on the move. I have never found out how to do this, as I can't seem to be able to add IMAP to the existing 'outlook' account. Only option is to have the standard outlook account which gets filled when synced, then have a second additional account which takes 10 mins to fill up with 100 old mails via imap and get up to date when on the move. I just want one email account that will a) sync via pc from my outlook account and b) when on the move sync via IMAP to 'top up' what is already there.
Third problem - the battery icon is optimistic, eg it says full when the battery is under 75%. The old one (on the top) was accurate. Anyone tell me how to fix this?
I feel I have come a long way from a novice and now need a bit of help fine tuning the above!
Greg.
Has anyone come across a way to set a sync schedule on the the new Windows Live Today screen plugin?
I'm looking to see if I can have the plugin automatically check for email every x minutes
It's possible to set a schedule when I sync with Exchange using the Activesync settings but it does not appear to be possible with the Today screen plugin to allow for scheduled syncs to my Live Hotmail account
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I found the setting, its within the Windows Live application under account settings.
The settings don't save/stick. I want it on, 'as messages arrive' - is anyone else able to get this 2 work.
It would replace other push email solutions....
I know exactlly what you mean radii,
i used to use 4smartphone.net to get push mail, and when i heard about hotmail push i just had to have a look
when I created a new msn id specially for this task and im sure it was on "as msgs arrive" but ive hard reset, to no aval, i found a couple of, well loosly, but quite apt keys, but changing them has not made a difference.
i noticed that the today plugin changes to disconnected after 1min, i found i can keep it connected by having msn msngr logged in, but even then it dosent direct push. ( " as msgs arrive " ) ,and it starts to rack up my gprs bill.
the only thought i have is that when i created the new id, and it worked, my account was then modified, to enforce a policy on the mobile, or an i being to paranoid?!?!?
i assume your on wm5 from posting in here, im on wm6 but i found you have the same issue, so its poss its the app at fault, gutting when you read on a msdn blog how to do it!

I am running WM6 LVM 03-23 and has been running that for sometime without any issues. I created 2 email accounts in Pocket Outlook (the one with MMS, Text and Outlook) and was able to pull emails (scheduled every 15 minutes).
However, as of this morning, those 2 email accounts disappeared from Pocket Outlook. When I try to add it again, Pocket Outlook complained that the account with the same name already exist. So I did a search in the registry for the email account name (GMail) and saw that it exist.
The problem now is that I can't access those email accounts and I can't added since it still exist in the registry. So what can I do?
I also found out that my BT pairing and GPRS settings has been wiped out from the device! It seems that something in WM6 is causing data corruption or data wipe. Anyone knows?
Regedit
If you can't fix with registry search/edit/remove, I'm thinking hard reset.
Sorry for that, but I think that's your only option.

If there is a way I can fit it via registry, I'd do it. But I don't know...
Also, is this an issue with ALL the WM6 cooked ROM? I don't want to do hard reset and use another ROM but to find out later the same thing happened.
All,
If you have setup POP3 mailbox in your Hermes runnign WM6, can you tell me the entries in this registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\POP3
I suspect the above is where all Messaging information is kept, thus I'd like to rebuild my missing POP3 mailbox.
For example, the text message mailbox is kept in the above as follow:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\SMS and contains the following:
- FriendlyName : Text Messages
- NewMessage : New Text Message
Did you guys manage to resolve this issue? This also happened to me today and I am not sure what to do and where to start????
Is HR the only way to resolve it? By the way, my gmail account also mysteriously vanished!!!
Messaging ( Email / Mms / Sms ) Account Disapeared - Solved
Same happened to me
Try this application:

Hope it works for you guys!!!
So I can use exchange email without any problems at all.. I have had maybe 10 different releases of WM6 on my 8525s (I have had 2 already) and when I try to use POP3 email, the phone hangs at "Logging On.." for about 5 minutes and then it finally connects and downloads the email. Is there a fix for this? WM5 connects, logs on, and downloads messages extremely quick. But WM6 seems to hang.
mine always seems to do this the first time I check my email after a hard-reset or new rom flash. this is true whether my 1st check is via WiFi or EDGE.
however, subsequent email checks are always back to normal speed.
No Pop3 Probs for me!!
I am using Sleuths New ROM with the following installed and my POP3 Is Fine!!
ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308019
SPL: 2.10 Oprilo
Radio:1.4
+ Software (Which might affect POP3 Hang)
If you require my software list i can post on request.
I have been running this particular config since i got the ROM and i have had no crashes/hangs, there are no bugs (i can find) Wifi is most stable i have found, general signal strength is good (No Radio problems) and my TYTN is very fast and responsive.
and with regards to POP3, i access via WIFI and as i type i have checked my email 3 times, each time sending a new email from different accouonts and i got them all, only thing i can find is that using the default email program on the ROM does nto allow download of the attachments i was sending.
Hope this helps
EDIT: I also entered Details Manually!!! (Prob AutoConfig Problem)
i use pop3 with 2 diffrent email address ( = 2 different email providers ) , the first ( tiscali IT ) logs and download immediately , the second ( Yahoo IT) stays at logging on for a while then download regularly ... i think this is a configuration problem and i found it's due to auto email configuration utility of wm6.
Try to check your email configuration or edit it manually since i found the wm6 default configuration is different ( also if working ) from the usual configuration from the provider.
Bye
vdavide
I didnt use the auto config on yahoo as it forced an imap set up. I prefer pop for that account. I entered the details manually.
I did use auto set up for Orange.net email and that worked fine.
It is usually fast but if in a dodgy signal area or if Orange are having network issues, it can slow up.
I could be impatient, but pop3 has been noticably slower over AT&T's network lately. Mine doesn't stall for 5 minutes, but it does take at least 30 seconds to login. Over wifi it works just fine though...or are you having issues with both?
No POP3 problems here so it's not WM6 related. Topic is misleading, please edit.
No POP issues
I have had POP3 accounts and Exchange at the same time since i was in Black 2.0, then 3.0.1 and now Dymond and have had no issues with POP3. So it must be a configuration or GPRS issue.
Something seems be very flaky in poutlook with regards to POP/IMAP and auto connecting. I had this issue a while back - would not download at all or hung - removed and reconfigured provider's and e-mail settings and it worked. try that.
What are you AT&T settings/configuration? I tried and it keeps doin it. Even on WiFi.
I have a Dopod 838Pro and I have used a played with a number of different ROMS and have stuck with Schap's WM6 and am currently running:
Schap's 4.31
Radio: 1.54.30.10
The problem. For some reason which I can't tie down, the MMS settings continue to return to the default vpix.com/servlets..... settings. Being that I don't send or receive alot of MMS it's not a huge problem, but it's got me buggered why it does this.
I sync between two PC's, one XP with Active Sync 4.5.0 (which then uses Groupwise PDA connect to sync with Groupwise) then at home I have Vista with it's Mobile Centre syncing up with Outlook 2007.
For no good reason every now and again the Vista Machine decides it doesn't know about about the PDA anymore and decides it's a new device. Being that this is random, by the time I notice the PDA has lost all contacts and calendar. I'm not sure if this is before or after I put it into the dock, but I can confirm that it is before I confirm anything on the PC.
I know that if you delete a "profile" thing on the PDA it will loose all information associated (including the calendar and contacts etc), but I'm not doing that.
Again the rare use of MMS means I can't pin down the MMS settings change to the PDA loosing sync. The other strange thing is that if I change the settings in the "Default" MMS server settings, when they revert back to the vpix settings, I am sort of screwed, but if I create an "Optus" profile then set that as default, when the vpix thing happens it simply re-selects the default profile, the upside being I can just re-select the Optus one and away I go.
So does anyone understand my ramblings or has anyone had a similar problem? Is it Vista? Is it the ROM? Is it a dodgy piece of hardware? Any ideas are welcome.
