For every one who had a problem with activesync after having installed ozvga, I found this fix after googling a lot and being just about to perform a hard reset! Enjoy!

Hi all
Having trouble installing Tomtom 5 on my SPV m2000. I have just upgaded to WM5 and activesync 4. Wen I run the installer for the TT5 application it errors and aborts . tried uninstalling Ativesync 4 including registry entries and tried reinstalling 3.8. Activesync doesn't detect my PDA now, I think I read somewhere that it relates to software in WM5 that requires activesync 4.
anybody any idea's how to get TT5 on my PDA without having to revert back to WM2002se?
:?
OK,OK! I know what ya gonna say! I have just found a string relating to the same prob and a resolution. orry for wasting ya time

is there any alternative to wms storage ? supporting USB 2.0 ?

You might want to try responding to the wm5torage thread on MoDaCo, since that's where the developer hangs out.

Since I updated my Device to Crossbow I am no longer abel to sync with my Exchange-Server directly over the Internet neither does server syncronization work when connected to ActiveSync 4.5 or WMDC (I do not want to use push service). First I tried PDAViet 2.00.07 pro. Installed a Certificate and tried to use SSL, as I did with the old Aku 2.0 rom. The devices seems to connect and I can read "syncronizing folders" for half a second, then it stops. "View status" gives me the error-code 0x85010014. So I disabled SSL, which makes no difference. This morning I tought, there may be issues with that rom and installed Helmi WM6 c1.1 instead, but again no difference. Syncronization with the desktop works with no issues, but I have to sync. over the net troughout the day, when I am not at home. I've been reading a lot of articels about that error-code, but they are all mentioning activesync desktop problems, such as firewalls etc.
Can anybody help???
Hi xxl
I updated to Crossbow too, and i can syncronize without any problems with a 2003 exchange server.
The only problem i had is that i have to skip the check in activesync when i set up the connection with the exchange server.
If i don't skip that connection test i get an error and i can't connect to the server, but skipping that , allows me to set up the server and sync.
I tried Helmi, and Jwright, and both sync ok for me.
Good luck
This may be the issue of helmi's ROM
I use original WM6 ROM, sync with exchange 2003 sp2 and push email works fine.
As I use SSL, the only thing needed is to add ours CA certificate to trusted roots (created a CAB file that installs a certificate).
I use Helmi's rom v1.1 and it works fine.

Now I've tried the third rom (i-mate JASJAR Crossbow Rom 2.01.06 WWE), still the same issue. Of course I've also installed the nessesary certificate. In WM 5 AKU 2.0 SSL worked fine that way.
I dont know how to set up push mail, just tried to sync manually using Outlook Moblile or ActiveSync on the HTC.
antguada,
I dont know what you mean, I didnt recognize any connection test...???
tnx, for the replies, any other ideas?
Strange thing. I solved it and it was no issue of WM6. The public nic's IP was not on the list of permitted IP's of the OMA virtual directory. But I didnt change anything there and a few days ago I synced successfully with the old Rom...
Confused, but happy
Thanks for your advices!
Hi,
I tried lots of WM6 roms so far (black, lvsw, vp3g, faria, schaps) and I'm really puzzled about one thing. Why do WM6 roms not reconnect to activesync if they are soft rest. The problem that when I install certain software such as PhoneAlarm or Resco Keyboard Pro the devices perform a soft reset after installation. With WM5 roms it was normal behaviour that the devices would reconnect to activesync after they rebooted. But the wm6 roms seem to be different. If the device makes a soft reset and is still connected to the USB cable it wont resync with activesync until you unplug and re-plug the device from the USB cable. I know it's not a very big problem but I still finde it strange behaviour especially because this worked on WM5 roms and I can't see why MS should change this beviour.
Is this something which can be fixed through .cab or other tweaks? Maybe one of the rom chiefs can fix it for upcoming WM6 releases...?
Can anybody shed more light on this?
Best regards,
Marc
I have the same problem
I have the same problem
what version of ActiveSync do u have?
I'm using the latest ActiveSync 4.5.0
Hi everyone!
I have already posted this thread on the Modaco forum but I'm still getting no answer. I'm posting it here. I know there are a few threads about ActiveSync problems but none of them solves my problem!
I'm using an Orange SPV M650 (French branded HTC P3300) for a few monthes now, and I've been successfully syncing it with ActiveSync over Bluetooth from the beginning. At this time, I had created a BT COM port with the Windows Bluetooth stack, configured ActiveSync v4.5 to authorize connections through that port ; then paired my PDAPhone to the computer and checked the "ActiveSync" option that was available in the services listing. I was then able to sync using the ActiveSync application on my PPC.
A few days ago I deleted the USB Bluetooth dongle on my laptop from the "Device manager", it's been installed back successfully on the next reboot BUT now I can't synchronize. The "ActiveSync" service no longer appears in the services list of my computer from the device's BT configuration tool. I only have "Serial port" showing.
Reinstalled ActiveSync twice, didn't changed anything.
What should I do?
Thank you!

Up! Nobody's an idea?
i can only suggest something i do when i have similar problems:
1. uninstall everything involved
2. manually clean up all involved registry keys
sometimes, the remainders of not completely uninstalled programs can cause problems if you install them again.
i never ran into your specific problem, but trying this will at least make you forget your synch problem for the 60mins you are busy.
...and sometimes, above procedure even helps!
I had to reinstall from scratch Windows XP for other reasons and the thing is still not working! I really don't understand, I'm wondering if I'm not doing something wrong... How should I do?
Hey..
Hey found this manual for you..
http://www.htcwiki.com/page/activesync+via+bluetooth?t=anon
Thank you. It's exactly that way that I'm trying! The problem is at step 12, the only service available on my paired computer is a "Serial port", not ActiveSync. I double checked that ActiveSync was properly configured on the correct serial port and it is...
i had this problem with XP, i sorted it out, but cant remembe quite how i did it, i have a feeling it was to do with the COM ports that you use for blueooth. upgraded to Vista and no problems, my suggestion is to go to vista, its much better then XP and everything works.
I have hardware unsupported under Vista (pro-soundcard) and my computer is a little bit too old (512 MB of RAM are fine with XP, won't be with Vista). Anyway I'm okay with XP, I won't change my OS just for an ActiveSync problem.
Anyway I updated my Artemis with the B&B 3.7 WM6 ROM and now it works... Was a problem on the phone I guess.
Thank you for your help
