hi all, im sick to death of this piece of junk now, it was a nice idea but it never works. im a driver on the tube in london, this phone has NEVER managed to connect back to the network when i come out of the tunnels. gprs just says error or the other person has hung up, and i never get my sms messages unless i reboot the device once at ground level. the phone has now decided to freeze up all the time (over the last couple of weeks this has happened). i plug the phone in to the computer for sync and it also freezes up. ive now just pulled out my ageing xda 2s and will go back to using that for now. ive tried all mannor of firmwares but it allways freezes or wont connect. ive tried all the radios - im just sick to death of this piece of junk. the xda 2s never had a problem reconnecting to a network, what can be so difficult for a suppose newer and better phone!!
cheers for any help
I've just spent a while searching for this but i cant seem to find it.. I need to get the internet sharing working on my dash, running nrg's 1.4 full but i dont know what happened to the internet sharing lnk.
As far as i know it should still work and should still be somewhere on the phone. Does anyone happen to know of the location of the file? i believe its something like intsharll.exe or something.
Im running seven (7000 i think) with all updates, have wmdc with everything.
I just cant seem to get this to work again.
Hey guys hope you can help me. I've been using internet sharing for a while but since HTC's most recent OTA update I cant get it to work while on 3G/HSDPA - the laptop cant seem to communicate with the DNS servers and I get an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle by the connections icon in the system tray. When forcing the Desire to use GPRS it works well - although its very slow, obviously.
Interestingly 3G/HSDPA works fine on my Desire - I get emails and web browsing no issues there. I also noticed since the update that it takes an awful long time for the radio on my desire to start data connection (a good 30''). i guess both issues are related to the OTA update which, by reading comments on this forum seemed to create more problems than it solved. Any idea guys as to what tweak I could use to force the laptop to connect to the DNS servers when using 3G on my desire?
cheers
I have the same problem except that I can only share a wifi connection with my laptop and not the 3g connection or gprs. I don't think it's the update because mine happened before I had installed it. Do you think t-mobile could be blocking any ports or something?
why would they block 3G and not GPRS? And T-Mobile explicitly allow internet sharing with the right internet plan so i don't think they would block it.
I installed Double Twist both on laptop and device recently - since then I have uninstalled both - could these have impacted on the internet sharing thing?
Any other idea?
I'm not too sure to be honest, I tried to look at what programs I had installed since the internet stopped working, the only thing I had installed was peer guardian which I have now uninstalled and its now working. I don't know if it's just a coincidence but it's working.
Any other programs that you've installed that may cause any conflict?
it started working again as I travelled and changed city... so it may be a local cell issue...
Glad it works again for you too. let's see for how long lol

I've had the exact same experience on my t-mobile wildfire - > apply the OTA O/S update and Internet Sharing stopped working!!! (It worked fine before on Windows 7 and XP)
Grrrrr...
Anyone have any ideas?
I also read that a factory reset fixes the tethering issue in several places and will see how badly it fracks the phone up (or whether everything gets downloaded neatly again automatically) and report back here...
Hi all.
Been installing quite a few roms in the last year and untimately sticked to UHD 3.0.2 with lupus kernel.
This happend once before, internet suddenly stopped working and the simptoms where having a 3g simbol showing up to then dissappear for minutes.......no way of having any internet connection whatsoever, tried installing different kernel and roms but probably it's something deep into the firmware.......it fixed by itself after a week or more '
Now it happend again, internet is down despite i reinstalled roms and kernel and even went back on .13 stock rom and kernel.....nothing internet is simply down and no 3g simbol coming up from time to time this time....only phone signal and that's it.
Settings are ok, checked 100s of times............i just left the phone charging and all of a sudden it became like this.
I'm back on stock as i said and still nothing.........this pisses me off like few other things on earth. Is there something i can attempt manually to recover any form of internet connection. I need it for work and messaging a lot!
Please help me out guys, or i'll just have to dump this phone in the bin despite the fact that i'm quite fond of it.
Thanks
Default [Q] Xperia arc S internet dead....tried everything, please help
Looks like you tried quite a lot of things but you did not say you tried another baseband? Worth a try? Just make a note of the baseband your on so you can return to it....
Hi all,
I recently sent my phone in and got it back probably little less than a week ago. Samsung had to replace the motherboard on my phone as it had the infamous SDS syndrome. I just realized the other day that when I connect it to WiFi at home, I can't upload my apps on the Play Store. I can still surf the web and everything, but most of the apps just don't connect to the web.
Is there a solution to this or do I have to send it again? As you probably know I don't want to do that because it's extremely frustrating. Should I try doing a reset to see if this helps the solution or ?
I know that it worked on another WiFi hot spot (my work) on Friday, so this issue just happened recently. I'm pretty tempted to do a hard reset since I don't have everything downloaded and reloading my contacts won't be that big of an issue. Any recommendations will help. It also states that my WiFi download speed at home is 72MBPS when I check the network I'm connected too.
Many thanks in advance for the help!
EDIT: I have not rooted my phone and don't plan too anytime soon. I'm considering on selling this so I can get the Note 3, but after the couple of issues lately, not sure if I wanna stick with the Note at all.
EDIT 2: Weird, it seems like it works in my room but not in my living room...I just realized that now which is extremely annoying, any solutions or suggestions as to what might be causing this?
EDIT 3: And it's not working again...I cancelled the download and tried downloading it again and it works again! This is frustrating....any help would be appreciated!

Just noticed that it seems like I can download most apps that have less than 10MB...any solution to this? If not I might just don't a reset later on tonight.
