Alright, I've completly had it with the t-mobile rom on my tytn. Befor this phone I used to have a wizard which I flashed almost the same day that I bought it, but after a while it broke down on me and I didn't get a new one (warenty issues)
Thats the main reason why I havn't flashed my tytn, but the t-mobile software is such a pain in the ass and WM6 is so much better then 5 that I'm just going to do it, screw the warrenty.
The question now is which version of WM6 shouls I flash. Is there a single version that definitivly leaves the rest behind?
Did my Vario2 with Black 2.5 yesterday. TBH, I don't know what the fuss is about. It's not noticably faster, and it was a big pain in the butt reinstalling everything. It also introduced a bunch of new bugs I didn't have before. On the other hand, being able to read HTML email has really changed my life. I'm sure for some people the changes are worthwhile, but for me it was not.
I extracted the TMob UK rom before flashing, so PM me if you need it in future.
I think this is a very important poll at this point.
There're so many WM6's version, and I am still using blackV1.X
Hesitating all days and looking about all the different versions, couldn't make a choice.

I agree with you completely here. The standard T-Mobile rom is sh*te to say the least. Many instability probs. The wizard was a much more stable device IMHO.
I flashed Custel WM6 Pro V1.2 a couple of days ago and it has given my phone a new lease of life. Highly recommend it apart from warranty issues. This seems to be the most recent rom revision out of the the cooked rooms available. The support from Custel is excellent and it is still being developed, 1.3 will be out soon.
Hope this helps.
Jeez - Another Poll !!!

Can you tell me what your instability probs were? I can't remember when I last had a lock up with mine, but I can't say the same for my new ROM.
LVSW Rom definitively
stable and fast!!
I sent a email:
this is my second mail my first within 2 weeks, I didn't got answer for my first mail. I purchase p3600i in the u.s and I can't find in your site any rom update... Were can i find it? and I want to know when will be wm6.1 upgrade, Its very expensive pda phone and it will be shame If there will be no upgrade. Thanks and good day Gal Levy
And the answer:
Thank you for your inquiry.
We here at HTC definitely understand your concern about having the latest software available for your device, in this case regarding a Windows Mobile 6.1 update. Currently there is no information available regarding a release date for Windows Mobile 6.1 on the HTC P3600i.
Gal, I hope we have answered your question in detail. Feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions.

Hey Gal
I did the same about 4 to 6 weeks ago and got a response from HTC Australia they they would not be supporting the P3600i with regard to any updates at all.
This is why I was so pleased that Olipro was able to come up with his Hard SPL.
At least now we have some opportunity to keep our "Expensive" non supported devices current for a little longer.
but still there is no stable wm6.1 rom for our devices...

in my opinion, there never exist a stable rom for any device.... every day is appering a new problem, a new solution is found.... when it come up a new radio/program version, it comes again new problem....
how to solve this.... make a backup every day, and put it where you can get it anywhere and anytime!!!

This is correct but not in rom that every night does hard reset without know why...
There is stable that you can work with the device but you have some problems... that is usualy
and there is "stable" without any bugs... That doesnt exist in any software in the world

Well so far I am pretty happy with the PDAViet 3.2 ROM. I am not sure if MMS is working properly or not...though that is no big deal for me. BT is working, battery life is really good as is memory...there don't appear to be any large memory leaks. I was concerned that it was switching off the screen on external power even after I set it to stay on but found there is a now a power saving feature for the battery and that needs to be set as well (it overrides the screen setting).
My only real gripe is that it uses Mozilla 4 as the browser and I haven't really figured it out yet. I might look at other browsers but I don't use it much so its no big deal.
I foolishly jumped on the new ROM:
HTC Tilt 2 (AT&T) ROM Update 2.10.502.4 | 08.30.2010
I now recognize what a mistake it was, for me anyway. Loss of "missed calls" and "new voicemails" on the home screen, not to mention that All Programs are no longer available (at least not without exceptional effort). Plus, I've had to soft reset about once a day due to lockups, and I've had to hard reset five times since the update, assuming my add-ons or take-offs have caused the problems. Frankly, this price is too high just to add camcorder function and animated weather to the phone.
Can anyone point me to a place where I can get the previous Tilt2 ROM? HTC doesn't list it as a download any more.
Thanks.
Bill

Thanks, Redpoint. I wonder if the one on that site is the previous or the "original", as that is how it is labeled. I've tried to download it, but I time out after about 5 seconds. I don't know if that is because everyone who updated is trying to go back, or that there is a server problem at shipped-roms.com.
I even hard reset and reinstalled the updated rom but to no benefit. Oh well. Boy I hate learning these expensive lessons. Never buy HTC. Never use Windows Mobile.
Thanks again.

Probably just too much download traffic on the shipped-roms site in general, try again later.
I think the one that is 6th from the top is the one you want. The one at the bottom has the newer radio, so therefore must be the "new official" ROM.
I think the stock "old" ROM was posted here at some point too. I know the original ROM, stripped of bloatware was posted in the Rhodium ROM Development Forum some time ago.

I have the same problem, except mine freezes so much, the phone is unusable. I spoke to AT&T and I am still under warranty so they are giving me another phone. Did anyone find a stripped version of the original rom anywhere? I would love to have that one instead of this new version which is basically the same as HD2, but doesnt work well at all on the Tilt 2. BTW, AT&T has discontinued the Tilt 2, due to the previous issues, and now the major new issues with this rom update. Thats according to the reps at AT&T themselves.
The bloatware hasn't been removed, but here is the original Tilt2 ROM from HTC's website.

Hi, I have a few questions I hope you can help me with?
My wife has a galaxy nexus, stock and unrooted. It is only around 6 weeks old and last week it started crashing, turning off then getting stuck in a boot loop just displaying the starting colours. I understand this is a known problem, she has software version 4.0.2 and it says her phone is up to date.
I "fixed" her phone once with a factory reset however this time she is away with work till Friday and now has no use of her phone or contractual minuets or data ect.
To make things worst she was planning on using the sat nav and wireless tethering to her laptop. It is the second time this has happened and she has lost all faith in her phone. She can maybe upgrade the software by downloading the 4.0.4 software but she/I don't see why she should have too. She just wants a phones that does what it says on the tin without needing to mod or mess around with it.
My questions are...
Is this problem enough for her to exchange the phone for another phone all together, she fancies a One X. Has anyone here managed to exchange the phone for this reason?
If not will updating the software to 4.0.4 fix the issue for sure? She really needs a reliable phone. Maybe it will be best to send it back under the warranty but we are afraid she will get another GNex with the same issue.
Any advice will be much appreciated
Sorry for the long post and thanks for reading,
Oliver
I would just try updating it and then wipe it. If that doesn't fix the issue it's most likely a hardware issue and I would warranty the phone.

Hey there,
Well first I would suggest calming down and not reverting to hardware issues just yet, Bootloops are pretty common, especially when using phones which were meant for the (a bit) more advanced user, it's advantage is also it's flaw, being a modding monster that it is..
And this is by no means a flame - but I wouldn't want my wife to have a GN for that exact same reason, yes - she knows about flashing roms and stuff, but she needs a reliable phone, that will work and do what she needs it to do and nothing more, as opposed to me, I like to mess around a bit with my phones (also not that much, I plan to stay stock with my GN).
To your question, I don't have any experience with RMA's but it maybe worth a try.
You also mentioned she fancies the one-x.. that means she wasn't really keen on buying the GN in the first place (I believe).. and also - and don't take this the wrong way - I think she\you don't really know what the GN is all about, this isn't a phone for everybody, I mean - it is, but it's a shame to see it fall into hands that do not appreciate it for what it is, think of it as a nice new Ferrari, sure - it'll get your wife to work But she is not going to the Nurborgring to time her laps with it.. she'll complain that once in a while the clutch is too sensitive and that she cannot count on the car to take her to work every day, and that she really fancies the new Volkswagen beetle... you get my drift
Also - I believe that flashing to the 4.0.4 will sort the bootloops, which usually has everything to do with the kenrel.
Best of luck!
p.s. All of the above is said in a humoristic way!

Thanks for your post.
My wife wanted to upgrade her htc desire to a faster phone with bigger screen, she loves android and Google products and the Google nexus seemed like the best choice at the time (b4 the one X was released) she loved the phone till now.
The phone has twice randomly gone into a boot loop and twice we managed to get it working again both times within the week. This has caused her to lose faith in the phone. I guess the update should fix the issue but it doesn't seem to be available on her phone just yet.
A basic phone would not be enough 4 my wife, as I said in my first post she uses it to connect her laptop to the Internet and as a satnav. Also she watches youtube videos (720p screen is handy here) and for facebook.
We never had any such issues with our desires. When my wife returns home we will update her phone via pc if it doesn't void warranty (I'm sure it won't ) and hopefully the issue will be fixed for good.

Sounds like our wives can get along my wify loves her htc desire hd! and to be honest, in my opinion in many ways it's much better than the sensation I had (stock).
And by what you described, if I was your wife (lol ) I'd also go for the GN.. I trust you know how to upgrade to 4.0.4, if you need any help just say so and I'll be more than happy to help
Also - from what I know upgrading will not void you warranty, you can simply lock the bootloader once you're done upgrading if you wish.
I really wish the bootloops will stop and that you wife will continue to enjoy her GN!
Hi again
I unlocked, rooted and installed Android Revelution HD 3.0.0 (based on 4.0.4) by mike1986 on her phone.
She is happy with her phone again.
Now it's rooted she likes the extra apps she can now install like AdFree.
I have a quick noob question though..
After installing the new rom her phone it said their is an update available. I understand that she should NOT accept over the air updates now she has a custom rom, and is that right?
Cheers, Oliver

Hey Oliver, sorry.. seems I didn't get subscription notifications on your reply...
anyway, she "can" download the update, but it will not install, it will simply give an error upon installation, the reason is the original files that the update needs to update are not there anymore, or they are but have changed, so it will just give an installation error.. that's the only downside to having a custom rom. me personally - I like mine stock at the moment
Just a quick update, I rooted, s- offed and install Arhd rom on my wife's gnex.
She says her phone is running faster/smoother than ever and has not restarted since. It's running great and she is happy again

I thought I would start a new thread for this since there is a lot of people looking for this update and information pertaining to it. I live in the US and purchased this HTC X One 720e from Ebay and didn't realize there was so many different international versions.
Did I screw myself in getting the 707 version? Is this considered the Asian version of the phone? My S/N starts with SH23XW.
I have the same serial number. No update and I don't really need it.
Be patient. It will come later.

Same here, also purchased without knowing the difference. This one from expansys though, also 1.26.707.2.
No real issues with it so far, my hunch is it'll take the release of s-off to allow flashing the UK version (which i'd prefer personally).
Running an unlocked build is tempting, I've almost started the process a few times. I've stopped mostly because:
1) the unlock wipes the unit, and I'm finally all set up.
2) the flashing process is not without risk
3) the unofficial roms don't support the OTA upgrades (obviously)
4) the unit works as it is.
I just came from the motorola razr, which has an extremely slow patch cycle - I see patches here from a week or two ago (official ones) - I'm confident the .707. variety will have a release reasonably soon.
