Or, download the Jasjar Rom 1.30.76 and flash. It is very easy and works like a dream.

Do I run it on my PC or Qtek?
Right now it wont start on the PC...
What you do is unpack the contents of the rom exe file into a directory, then you take your noid exe file and put in the same folder as the rom files, or the same folder of the normal loader file, and run the no id. This may vary depending on the layout of the contents in the big rom exe file, and yes you run the stuff on your pc, while having your Universal connected to the computer in Active Sync usb linked mode...
If you get the hassel of the country id after running it first time, quickly run it again and DUN touch the pda no matter what wierd setting it may be in, sometimes the first time only put the device into bootload mode, and then give an error message, but when run the second time itll flash the pda correctly hope this will help you.

I cant get it to work..
It just shows the screen thats supposed to show witch ROM i have, and witch one Im upgrading to.. but no data- Just blanks.
If i press "Upgrade" it finishes after 30 sec, and says "Congratiolations" and so one..
but nothing is happening on my qtek?
When you unpack the .EXE ROM files, there are 2 directories worth of files, you have to transfer all the files in these directories to one directory, then put the MAUpgradeUT_NOID in same directory then run from there.
Maybe MAUpgrade is all by it's lonesome self in that directory
Works!!
thanks everyone!!

How does this MIcrosoft directpush work? Cant seem to find any settings for it. But when i select "when new items arrive" i can see the symbol is highlighted in the commmanager.

Go to 4smartphone.com .... They have trial host exchange server push e-mail thingy so you can try it out. Everything is there at their site regarding push email setup
make sure all the files are in the same folder then, like this fx,
enterbl.exe
getdevicedata.exe
MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
ms_.nbf
nk.nbf
radio_.nbf
ruu.conf
ruu.dll
ui.dll
And try running the file then...
Btw i presume you are trying to upgrade to Universal_Upgrade_v1.30.68_radio_1.09.0
the extended rom gets to 1.30.153 WWE

Hi all. I'm trying to flash my XDA2s back from the iMate Rom to the original 02 image.
I have the .nb1 file on my computer. I let the handset sync using activesync. Then double click the image. It loads up the 'XDA OS Image Tool' which seems to work fine.
Then a command prompt widow pops up and says:
'ERROR: GetDeviceData - unspecified error
error getting devicedata'
Programme A v1.09 pops up and eventually an error message tells me
'cannot execute the remote communication program. Please make sure the USB/Serial cable is properly connected'
Any ideas? I'm a bit of a n00b still with this stuff and I reeeeaaaally need this returned to the original rom image.

Hi Mike,
Suggest you download the latest O2 Spec Complete shipped ROM, unzip it into another folder, add MaUpgradeUt_NoID and use this method instead. This should give you a completely standard O2 ROM..
More information can be found here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_1.40.00_Upgrade
Let me know how you get on..?
Cheers,
PC
Cheers for the quick reply!
The thing is, its kinda on its last legs (whistling screen, loose stylus, rubber seal under screen coming out, dodgy down button, didn't enjoy my trip to poland etc) so I predict it will meet its end in the next couple of weeks and I'll need to pull an insurance job. I need to make it so they can't tell that I flashed it or it invalidates the insurance cover. Will they be able to tell if I flash it with the new 02 ROM that isn't the original?

Hi Mike,
My guess is as long as it's an original O2 ROM (that, quite rightly, would have been available to you anyway) they shouldn't have any issue..
One thing that would be a problem is if you have ever upgraded to WM5 and unlocked/unhidden your ExtROM as this would forever be known as your ExtROM wouldn't have a password..
My feeling is that provided you've never updated in this fashion, you'll be ok..
Others - Feel free to comment if you know different..?
Then again, if you're going through the Insurance where the phone has been dropped (off a Building, for example) where they had no ability to see it working, they'd be none the wiser, would they..?
I sure hope not I did upgrade to WM2005, and then back again, but I can't see an extended ROM anywhere.

Did you re-size the ExtROM, etc using the following procedure..?
Wiki said:
If you have not unhided and unlocked your Extended ROM yet
copy xda-developers_Unlocker.cab from the "Preparation\ExtROM unlocker - WM2003SE" folder to your device.
install it by tapping on it in filemanger
then go to start -> Programs -> ExtROM tools -> then first run "unhide", then "Unlock". Do a soft reset.
Setup the Storage size to get a full 60MB and not 43 MB
Copy Repart_DOC.exe from the "Preparation\DOC repartitioning tool" folder to your device and launch it.
Set size of Extended ROM to 128 kb (or a bit more, if you want a NOT working extended ROM)
Press "Format now!" and wait until it is done (A few seconds). You will see a message that it is done.
Soft reset.
You will get an error message about your storage, just press yes and wait a few seconds
Click to collapse
Unless I'm mistaken, this process will change the password for the ExtROM..
Can others advise..?
Cheers!
D'oh, I can't remember! I recall setting the ext. rom to 128kb so I probably did. Darn.
Well, this is pretty newbie advice to most of you, so you may think it doesn't warrant a write up, but I had to do some searching for info on how to upgrade my ROM so I thought it would be good to put it all in one thread.
1) Download the ROM you want from the FTP server....Details here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_FTP_Site
2) Download MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe to your Desktop from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=7644
3) Disconnect your device from the USB cable.
4) Hold the Power button + Light bulb button, and press the reset pin found at the back of the device (fiddly if you have large fingers).
You will notice that the screen of the device is dark but has “USB” and "v 1.0" written on it.
5) Connect back your device via the USB cable.
6) Run the download ROM upgrade application...When it prompts you to begin the upgrade process, just minimise the window or leave it alone (DON'T CLOSE THE PROGRAM).
7) Whilst it is running, use Windows to search for a file named RUU.dll
8 ) Right click file and choose ‘Open Containing Folder’
9) Select all files and copy them
10) Create a temporary storage location....C:\Upgrade....And Paste all copied files in here.
11) Copy the file MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe from the desktop into C:\Upgrade
12) Close the previously started upgrade application running in the background
13) Run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe from it's C:\Upgrade location
The upgrade process should begin now…If it does not, run the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe application again
Make sure you DO NOT DISCONNECT the cable.
The upgrade takes around 20 minutes to complete.
14: Disconnect the USB cable when told, then push the reset pin. Ignore the advice to do a hard reset by holding down the soft keys while you do this, just push the reset pin by itself. Your Universal will load the new ROM image and you're all done.
Thanks.
Thanks!

Help!
OK, I made my own instructions. Follow this instruction of mine:
The file is extracted in your computer. Once you run the shipped.exe file, you need to go to:
My Computer
Your Drive (mine is Drive C)
Show the contents of this drive
Documents and Settings
Choose your folder name
Choose "TOOLS" from the menu bar
Choose "FOLDER OPTIONS"
Click on the "VIEW" tab
Click on "HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS"
YOU WANT TO SHOW ALL HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS
Now go to TEMP folder
Now you will notice a bunch of folders will show up, tons of them to be exact. What you need to do now is click on the shipped.exe file again and "LOOK" for the folder being created because that folder is what you want to copy. If you did not see it created, you have to manually open each folder and look for the files I listed below.
Assuming you found the folder, you will have these following files inside that folder:
ms_.nbf----------------------this file is responsible for EXT ROM Version
nk.nbf------------------------this file is responsible for Windows Mobile Version
radio.nbf---------------------this file is responsible for Radio Version
EnterBL
GetDeviceData
readme
ROMUpgradeUt
RUU.conf
RUU.dll
UI.dll
MaUpgradeUt_noID
If the file MaUpgradeUt_noID is not there. You need to get hold of a copy of this file as you need this.
There you have it, REMEMBER, you need to have the MaUpgradeUt_noID file plus all the rest of the file if you want to upgrade to the ENTIRE I-Mate ROM, QTEK, O2, or whatever ROM you want.
If you only want to upgrade to the radio version then you need to delete 2 files namely: "ms_.nbf" and "nk.nbf". Leave "radio.nbf" alone and click on the "MaUpgradeUt_noID" file to initiate the Radio installation. Basically those 3 files control what you want to update on your device.
Hope my instructions were clear enough for you. Hope this helps.
cannot locate files after running exe
Hi All, I have ran the ROM update exe and the message saying extracting file XXX etc appears OK then the program closes. Did you follow the instructions above on how to show hidden files and folders? After double clicking the .exe file and running it, leave it open then look for the NEWLY created folder in the TEMP folder as instructed. You need to look for it the hard way by opening each folder one by one and check for the files to see if you got the right one.
someone advised me for some extra step, someone please advise is it coorect steps:
"Then you need to make a small change to one of the text files. Look in the directory for
RUU.conf
Open it in notepad and add this line
[CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1
then save it
That’s about it….."
thx for reply christian,
yes i tried searching every folder the manual way but still no joy, I have just copied the rom exe onto my other computer and it worked OK on there and updated my exec without any further problems
Hi All, Linked to the update of the exec software , i noticed the audio playback on tom tom navigator and media files is very jerky to the point you can hardly make out what is being said. has anyone else had the same problem and have you found a solution to fix the problem ?

Hi
I'd like to take the risk for updating my Dopod 900 for new versions of ROM & radio, but I've got couple of questions.
1. I've got Dopod 900. I do understand, that it's absolutely the same with Qtek9000, but to be sure: may I use ROM update for Qtek?
2. My ROM (1.13.69) & radio (1.04.02) as of 10/12/05 are ancient What version of ROM & radio consider to be stable as of now? I saw in signatures that people using ROM 1.30.77 and radio 1.09.00. Are they OK?
3. I got on FTP and was a bit confused: as far as I understood the latest ROM is 1.30.100 (UNI_QTEK_130100_190_10900_ESN_Ship.exe), but it's for ESN (Spanish???) localization. So in order to get WWE I should use UNI_ORUK_13090_174_10300_WWE_Ship.exe and that update radio separately from 1.03.00 up to 1.09.00 or just UNI_QTEK_13077_176_10900_WWE_Ship.exe? What would u advice me?
4. What is the benefit for updating from 1.13.69 and 1.04.02? Will it works faster & more stable?
Thx in advance & take care

The devide says me:
Boot options:

I want to upgrade to UNI_QTEK_13077_176_10900_WWE_Ship.exe for use my heasphones motorola stereo... (AD2P..)

how do you activesync or put stuff onto your trinity?
you REALLY should have a USB lead!
I Dont! For Sync and other stuff I use BT or card reader.
So this SD-Upgrade Works or not?
What name do I need to assign to .nbh file?
in hermes is Hermimg.nbh do for Trinity is Trinimg.nbh?
Its easy
Format the SD put there the .nbh and the sspl trin.exe, then execute the exe and starts alone the rom instalation.

after the 2nd boot logo,it stucks with white screen.

Don't know why the previous didn't worked.

i have a similar problem with a dead O2 XDA Zinc...where do i get the abi file or can i make one from the wm6 upgrade file (Xda_Zinc_RM3070712_WWE_ExtV2.8.0.exe) that i download from the official website
the abi file can be found inside the exe but i dunno how can u extract it since if u use any extractor it will not give u the abi file ... also if u hv the raw rom & want to extract the rom also u will hv difficulty in extracting it
that is the problem that i am facing now
you can extract abi file from Xda_Zinc_RM3070712_WWE_ExtV2.8.0.exe by
1. connect o2 zinc with usb
2. flash your o2 zinc by exe file
3. when complete flash don't push finish button
4. select to view hidden files in folder that you put exe file
5. finally you will see marsii_g4.abi

hard reset or soft reset both does not do any good to remove the error message "unble to open the registry key" and to just reload the orginal applications and remove the others

You mean the WM5 ROM on seeo2? It's still an upgrade ROM, not the original that comes along with the device at the beginning.
Anyway, I'm a newbie so please advice how to 'downgrade' from WM6 to WM5? Is this similar to the process upgrading from WM5 to WM6 (you just sync the device with PC, run the .exe file on the PC and let it go)?
If it's not, please kindly give me detail instruction
Many thanks

Hi,
When you get this message, you should find a file called "tmp_rom.abi" in the same directory as the firmware update utility (you need to Show Hidden Files first - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/hiddenfiles.mspx).
Before clicking "OK" on that message, copy tmp_rom.abi to another folder. When finished, close the update utility. Rename "tmp_rom.abi" to "GM5_WWE_Zest.abi" and copy to your SD Card. Then flash as you did the WM6.5 one (Navpad Down + Reset).
Just to say thankyou for your response , my zest is back to original op sys.

Bob

Make sure on the SD Card the file is called GM5_WM61Downgrade.abi or something like that. It has to start with GM5_ and end with .abi
done a few before, but for some reason, just never works with the file i've ripped/extracted from the update program. it's there, named correctly. I'm absolutely puzzled

no problems do you have more than one abi file on your storage card? If so ensure there is only the 6.1 one on there.
nope, just the one .abi file. i've renamed it a couple of times too (but still following the GM5_xyz.abi nomenclature). its insane in the membrane lol, i see a few other users here have done it....why not me? i feel like a leper lol

I'll try this today, and if still no joy, gonna get a tg01 tomorrow and sell this to CEX just to get rid of it. Thanks once again!!!
