I have set Button Lock to power button only.
The ON/OFF switch (top right) keeps changing its function. Sometimes it works as expected and switches the phone off but sometimes it causes the backlight to go off.
I have tried various durations to see if that makes a difference (hold button down for period) but it doesn't seem to. The one thing that seems to switch it back to expected functionality (not always) is a reset.
This is now dodgy for me though as I have lost my stylus and so I reset by unclipping the battery for a mo'
Bottom line is - How can I get my Power Switch to work as expected?
Further to this point, could anyone tell me where I can get a new stylus and also I appear to be missing two very small screws on either side of the phone casing near the top (left hand side is just above the 'Recorder Button', right hand side is opposite the XdaIIs logo).

Hi guys!
I upgraded my PDA2k to the following:
ROM: 1.40.00
ROM date: 03/10/05
Radio: 1.12.00
Protocol: 1337.42
Ext.ROM: 1.40.176 WWE
I seem to think that this release is even buggier than the last one. The few problems that I face are:
- Camera turns on brightness to full, and on exit, the brightness doesn't return to previous level
- In Windows Media Player, you cannot assign shortcut buttons, the prompt just stays there.
Can't remember more problems right now, but there are more. I will write them later.
Another problem is that if you dial a number, and turn off the screen (with the power button) before the other person picks up, then no matter how long you talk, the call history will always show it as being "00:00". If you turn off the screen after the other party picks up, all is fine.
Another problem
When bluetooth is on and u press power botton... ur device will not be discoverable anymore.

Click to collapse
You can't assign any hardware button in wm10 - only a D-Pad (left, rigth, and so on, hold left, hold right... and so on) and buttons of hardware keyboard. You can't assign other hardware buttons such as Contacts, Caleddar, Photo, Record, Win, Mail, IE, Ok... And i do not known why ... May be this is a feature, may be a bug...
I've now got my XDA IIs and let it put O2 activeon to start with.
had a look,
then hard reset and got rid of it.
great
any problem is, no tool to go from portrait to lanscape screen orientation.
how does one get this back?
Select start, settings, system tab then select "screen" botom RH icon from here you can select screen oriantation - I know its not an on screen short cut but at least it gets it back for you, I wouldn't put the O2 active on the device it caused me nothing but trouble, I fail to understand why O2 sell the device with a rubish software load - Mike
Aother way if you want an on screen icon is to load up Omega One Batery Pack Pro. This will put the battery strength meter back onto the screen as well as other useful information, but in addition it loads "programe Bar" from here you can have short cuts to practically anything on the device - I have just tried it so I know it works - Mike
I've mapped my t-zones key (3rd from the left on the bottom row) to flip orientation.
Perhaps you could try that.
PHM tools does a free tool as well.
V
tap start - settings - personal - buttons.
from there u can reset hard keys to what u want. i have the home button stored to this, the first button above the call button.
hi,
desperate here
I love my jasjar, until it started to behave randomly.
seems that the right top corner is "pinching" the screen (or it needs to be changed, which would be OK, if I wasnt stuck in africa for 5 months yet to go)
mainly, I have RANDOM inputs as if I pressed the touchscreen.
I understand the touchscreen is a layer on top of the LCD. and must have either a separate DLL of a kind , or set of functions in a dll, or however else they did it
can anybody help: how can I disable the touchscreen input alltogether (delete a dll, or any hack), yet keep the screen (visual) working, and the keyboard?
thanks in advance, I cross my fingers, and go back to fight now, will take me 5 minutes to dial a number with the battery sign or the time, poping up every 2 seconds or so
Hello. Maybe someone has faced with the same problem before... When I turn off phone (standby mode) the screen starts powering on and off in different time intervals (for example/ 2 minutes after power off, it turns itself on... and few minutes after, it turns off again (or sometimes it takes less time)...) During the "оn" state,(when it turns on by itself) the touchscreen function is not working... I have to push power button 3 times untill it turns off, and then, when I turn it on again (with button) it works just fine. I am not sure is it software or hardware problem.

Thanks!!
I have a very annoying problem with my TP2 : when I short press the home button to go back to the home screen, the data connection terminates. I tried to remove the setting for long-pressing the home button, to switch tu GSM only, to change the sim card (same and other operator), but no effect.
After a hard reset it works normaly again for a few days and then it starts doing like that again.
Any idea what is causing this issue and how it can be solved ? I can't hard reset my device every 3 days and I don't want to upgrade to wm 6.5 because I think the HTC official 6.1 works much more faster than any 6.5 ROM I tried.
Thanks!
