I have a very annoying problem with my TP2 : when I short press the home button to go back to the home screen, the data connection terminates. I tried to remove the setting for long-pressing the home button, to switch tu GSM only, to change the sim card (same and other operator), but no effect.
After a hard reset it works normaly again for a few days and then it starts doing like that again.
Any idea what is causing this issue and how it can be solved ? I can't hard reset my device every 3 days and I don't want to upgrade to wm 6.5 because I think the HTC official 6.1 works much more faster than any 6.5 ROM I tried.
Thanks!

Hello all!
I am having a strange problem with my MDA III (Win Mobile 5). Some month ago I did not have a connection to the GSM network but only a plane symbol, where usually the antenna signal is.
I was not able to activate GSM, so I made a soft reset (I have to do the soft reset quite regulary because often my screen will not go on, when I push the power button).
After the soft reset everything worked fine and I forgot about this. But then four days ago I was entering a plane and tried to activate the flight mode by tipping the antenna icon. When doing so I only get an pop-up named phone with the name of the provider and the option to go to the settings. but no option to turn the flight mode on.
I tried every menu on the phone and was not able to find it. So I decided to update the ROM to Windows Mobile 6 using Helmi BA WM6. The update worked fine, but still I do not have the flight mode option. Quite strange, because I thought I will remove everything from the ROM with this update.
So if anybody has an hint or solution how to get the flight mode option, I would approciate it very!
Cant you just go into the coms manager in WM6 and click on the phone icon to turn it off?
You can just turn all the Radios off from there as well, wouldnt that do the job?
I've noticed since installing Kavana's 6.1 ROM (great ROM, btw), that I can no longer use my red disconnect button as a shortcut to lock my phone.
In the past, I would just depress the red disconnect button for a few seconds and it would lock the phone, now I can only do this by hitting the left side power button to bring up the quick menu to do this.
Is there a way to get the shortcut back?
Thank you,
Tim
Locking Dash
I have always held down the z key to lock my phone. This works for me in WM6.1
Thank you, never tried that method, the key is smaller than the red disconnect button, but it'll do. - Tim
Strange. It works for me by default and I am using this ROM:
RUU_Excalibur_WM61_Kavana_080320_WWE.exe
(apparently this is the same as the 080318 ROM, but with the defaults that he said were turned off actually turned off).
Strange it's working for me now as well.... but yesterday depressing the key would do nothing. Being a Windows OS I should have known I'd need to reboot. ;-)
False Alarm

when in doubt.... Reboot!!!!!!!
Is there an auto key lock function or application available for WM 6.1?

Hi.....
I have an wm6 xda with a broken mail button and I'm trying to hard reset it for upgrading. Is there a possible way to do the upgrade with the button while using windows 7 (using WMDC) or I need XP to do it.
Another problem with my BA is
1. If I slide it up, the screen will be distorted and will fade to white.... (Is this a Hardware problem??)
2. My stylus always point is not accurate in one point (the right side).
Are you trying to do the hard reset before or after you flash the ROM? You enter the bootloader first(Record + Power + Reset) Then flash it. Then after its done you press power + record. That should be it. You only need the mail button to do a wm6 hard reset without upgrading the ROM
1. That sounds like a hardware problem
2. Maybe try aligning your screen. If that doesn't help it could also be a hardware problem. How much is it off by?
that is not true, after upgrading you need to hard reset the device, and for that you need the mail button, because after you upgraded and entered the hard reset menu by pressing power+reset+record+camera you set the options right by flipping them all, using the camera and record buttons and then confirm your choice by pressing the mail button.
but i agree about the other problems:
screen - hardware issue
touch - align screen
just my 2 cents
So I am working with Spaatie on upgrading my iPaq hx2495b. We have encountered a problem that he has never seen before. When I press:
Contacts + iTask + reset (with sylus), the screen will fade out the windows screen towards white, but continue till black (but lit). It never goes all white for but a split second.
I hit calender, but it wont connect at all, and his ROM wont find my iPaq (error 503: activesync error).
So, is there something I am missing? I have tried just tapping everything, holding down for 3 to 5 seconds, holding down for 60 seconds, but I get the exact end results each time.
I have also performed a hard reset to remove any added programs, still getting the same results. So, any help would be appreciated!
Every 10 minutes, or more often, the phone disconnects from the network,
and ask me to enter the SIMs PIN code. The phone is still initializing the SIM-card regularily without my
knowing because I've now disabled the PIN-code and perhaps draining the
battery or something. This is very annoying, when I'm calling someone the SIM-card suddenly disconnects
...Any fix for this? I tried to solve it by replacing it with a new sim-card, but that didn't fix it.

Problem solved. I've noticed that a lot of people have this problem, including my brother. The solution was a hard-reset of them phone.
1. Turn the power off. If your HTC Desire is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
2. Hold the Volume Down button
3. Press and release the Power button
4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
6. Press and release the Power button
7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO
If you selected YES, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from the HTC Desire. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state.
