SIM-card disconnects! - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Every 10 minutes, or more often, the phone disconnects from the network,
and ask me to enter the SIMs PIN code. The phone is still initializing the SIM-card regularily without my
knowing because I've now disabled the PIN-code and perhaps draining the
battery or something. This is very annoying, when I'm calling someone the SIM-card suddenly disconnects
...Any fix for this? I tried to solve it by replacing it with a new sim-card, but that didn't fix it.

Problem solved. I've noticed that a lot of people have this problem, including my brother. The solution was a hard-reset of them phone.
1. Turn the power off. If your HTC Desire is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
2. Hold the Volume Down button
3. Press and release the Power button
4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
6. Press and release the Power button
7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO
If you selected YES, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from the HTC Desire. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state.

1. I do believe that was caused by installed softwares,
2. try to remove all today plugins, wait 5 seconds, softreset, after 2 minutes (just to ensure
all processes are finished),
3. try to press the power button then again after 10 seconds, and see if that helps or not, alternatively,
4. try to remove the shortcuts fron the startup folder and try. If nothing helped, probably there is a confused registry. hard-reset for no choice(except you are expert in registry matters )
5. Remember to wait for 10 seconds before you reset the device after changes were made.
thanks everyone!! this problem happens occationally. SO i need a few days to see if the above steps work
Thanks for ur advice again though

[Q] Random reboots of system after pressing the power button

I've been using CM10.1 for some time now without any major problems, but recently my phone fell like half a meter from a table and after that it started behaving weirdly:
1. The SIM was not recognized anymore (i just found out that the SIM card is faulty, as other phones do not recognize it aswell)
2. The phone keeps randomly rebooting(even after fullwipe and updating to CM10.2) after press the power button to either wake the phone or turn the display off.
I have literally no idea what could be the cause of the second problem, as It does not happen everytime I press it, but just randomly from time to time.
Thanks for any help in advance!
EDIT: I should probably also mention, that if I constantly wake the phone via the QWERTY keyboard and let it fall into standby automatically the reboots do not happen.

[Q] Can't get M7 to sleep after reboot

I'm having a weird issue on my completely stock, S-ON, non-rooted M7. Each time I reboot the phone, I'm unable to get it to sleep, either by the screen timeout or the power button. The screen simply will not turn off. Eventually it'll start working again after some random time period or random event, but it could be hours. If I keep rebooting it, it may eventually work after a random number of reboots. Once it starts working again, it's fine until the next reboot. Any diagnosis ideas?
Double check it isn't an app preventing sleep. Check all recently installed apps and their permissions (the one you are looking for would be "prevents device from sleeping" or something of that nature). If it isn't an app, it could be something corrupt in the data partition, which means only a factory reset would fix your issue. (Reboot to bootloader via vol down and power and select factory reset and press power button to confirm).
Sent from my One using XDA Free mobile app
I'd factory reset
Sent from my Lunar Ecliptic One.
Old thread, but just wanted to close the loop to help others if they experience this. Turns out I would see this problem only when restarting the M7 WITHOUT powering down. If I power down first, then power up, the issue goes away. Strange, but at least it's fixable.

Moto Z Play won't charge after removing Google lock?

After removing Google lock on a phone I bought on eBay the phone will only charge in safe mode and the light on the front next to the speaker is always on but off in safe mode. i do not think google account removal will affect on battery. try one more thing.. hard reset the phone.
turn off the phone and press volume.. volume down and power button .. all button together for a few seconds. You will be able to see fastboot on mobile screen. press volume 1 - 2 times and select RECOVERY mode by pressing power button. phone will say no command. press power and volume up button. erase all database. it will restore phone to factory setting. this method resolve almost 90% issue. try it.

Password required to restart/Shut down phone?

Does anyone else have this problem where you cannot shut down your phone or restart it without a password? Also I discovered that you can no longer hold the power button down to force a restart.... Did they remove these or am I the only one who is having these problems? Note 10 plus 512 gb direct from Sammy. I don't understand why they would remove this feature. What if the phone freezes....

No idea about the password, but to force restart, hold power and volume down.

Safety/security feature. Offers also fingerprint unlock for a while but after prolonged 'idle' time you must enter your pin/password. Prevents 3rd party people from factory re-setting your phone. Power & vol- still works w/o pin as in Beetle84post above.
If I you just so happen to lose your phone the person can't shut it off or lower the volume. It's definitely a perk. The walk around to the volume however is the do not disturb, but if you remove that from the quick panel you got a pretty good chance of finding your device via app, or calling it from another phone if the person is near. The power is now volume down and sleep button. That can be changed now as well.
