Power on screen problem - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hello. Maybe someone has faced with the same problem before... When I turn off phone (standby mode) the screen starts powering on and off in different time intervals (for example/ 2 minutes after power off, it turns itself on... and few minutes after, it turns off again (or sometimes it takes less time)...) During the "оn" state,(when it turns on by itself) the touchscreen function is not working... I have to push power button 3 times untill it turns off, and then, when I turn it on again (with button) it works just fine. I am not sure is it software or hardware problem.

Forced Hard Reset blues

Hey everyone...I've been having a bizzar issue I think. Occassionally, I am forced to hard reset my phone when I plug it into the wall for charging. Usually, the orange light comes on for charging, but in the instances, the green service light keeps blinking...and I can't turn it on...can't use the phone or pda functions, can't soft reset...only option to hard reset.
Is this going to continue? Is there something I'm doing wrong? Something I need to know?
Thanks everyone! This website rocks!

No one can help me on this one, eh?
Check that it's not actually on. Pressing the power button for too long dims the screen and it looks like it's off.
This is a common mistake (that I've made too).
Reset and then just breifly press the power button to turn it on and off.Don't use a long press.

Yes, I tried all that. I even went as far as to leave it plugged in and sit for several hours. Then tried again, and it was the same thing. Maybe I shouldn't have the wall charger plugged in before I plug in the phone? Phone first, then wall maybe? I dunno...

Button and screen problems

Hi, my blueangel has been acting up, everytime i turn it on the start button and message buttons keep getting pressed constantly (being activated) however when i turn the backlight off, by pressing the power button for 5 secs, the problem is solved, but when i turn on the backlight it gives me the same problem..
Any ideas how i can solve this problem, since my blueangel is not in warranty.
anyone?
For me it sounds like a hardware problem, but can you share with us which rom do you use ?
my rom version is PDA2k_Arabic_14000_169_11200
I too think that it might be a hardware error, however, is there any way to fix it.. ???

Question regarding backlight

Hi, i have just got a new xda orbit and noticed that when the backlight goes off after a set period (30 secs), it seems to be still lit but only very slighty, so at night you still see the today screen etc. But if i press the power button then the display goes off. Is this correct ?
The reason im asking as i have been using an xda mini s for over a year and when the backlight times out the display is not visible at all in the dark. You have to press the power button to see the screen again.
Hope this makes sense
Yes, that is fine. The dim backlight will go out in time too.
MaskedMarauder is 100% right. It will go out eventually.
Ok thanks guys for the quick reply, just obsevered it last night and noticed it was different.
Thanks again...
I've tried posting about this before, but it never gets answered - i've got a mda III, and that dims to brightness 1 (from within the registry), but will never go out - regardless of what rom i've tried.
I've also noticed that i can force set it to 0 in the registry, but thats the overall screen brightness. None of the other reg keys (putting bkl1:, etc in the various power keys) seem to work.
Any one got any ideas or utils to sort this? I'd try to code this as there are some code samples which allow you to force this, but i've not got VS
Like you i've tried all the registry edits i can think off to no avail. I too have a wizard and find this irritating - plus backllight stays on when media player on etc.. No difference with wm6 so i guess it maybe a hardware issue. I use a small app to turn off display when apps are running and i want the display off.
I use backlight time of 30 secs and power of 1 minute - so overall similar to my wizards backlight time of 1 minute.
why not..
why not just pres the I/O button on the side to turn off the backlight when u don't want it on? obviosuly a bit of a hassle, but if u get into the habit of doing it, no problems
Because that puts the device into standby and turns everything else off too (except the phone etc.) So if your listening to music your plunged into silence.
I had an XDA2i (Alpine) previous to my Orbit and I actually prefer the dimmed screen.
A brief press on the 1/0 power button WILL make the device go into standby.... BUT...
press and HOLD the power button for LONGER than 2-3 seconds and it toggles the backlight on and off, whilst STILL keeping the device on!
hope this helps

[Q] White screen during charging, kaiser won't boot

I have a problem with my bro's Kaiser. He was pulling off the battery a lot and finally his kaiser won't boot...
There are some strange things happening though. First of all when the phone is turned off and user charges the phone:
1) yellow led turns on(and it stays like that for about 10-15 seconds)
2) yellow led turns of(for about 2 seconds)
3) the whole screen flashes white for less than a second
4) go back to 1)
It seems the battery isn't charging then.
Furthermore I cannot get into bootloader menu(the tri-colored menu) no matter what I do... Tried holding camera and power, holding the stylus in the hole and holding camera+power...
When turning on during smart mobility screen radio, SPL etc. infomration doesn't appear, then when linux texts start to run trough screen the phone resets after few seconds, even on battery from my kaiser.
I haven't been using android on Kaiser for looong time and I don't remember which button to hold to get into that menu with "holt alt+something to do something", I don't remember how it's called and failed while searching the information.
Can anyone help me? I want to boot the android, just that...

HOX's screen not turning on

Hi,
my Hox's screen doesn't turn on after I put it to sleep. I press the power button and only capacitive buttons turn on and after a few seconds they turn off too. And when I press the volume keys and it changes the volume.
Then I hold power button for long time and phone Turns off . when I turn it on it boots with screen still off.
After a few times turning the screen on/off ,it turns on and its fully functional, I can turn it off, wait a few seconds , and turn it on again.
but after waiting for a minute I have the same issue.
This issue happened when I flashed my first rom(ARHD) on it. I have tried re installing ARHD, and recovering stock rom, but the problem is still there.
Can somebody help me please ?
