Create Nandroid first!?

So i just got a Galaxy S3 from sprint. What im wondering is if i can first flash a custom recovery BEFORE doing anything else like rooting or flashing custom rom, etc etc. I want to do this so i have the exact stock image of the phone as it came in case anything goes wrong. Is this possible?

Download a stock rooted ROM (tar), ODIN that. Now you're rooted. Flash a custom recovery (TWRP recommended). Do your Nandroid, and carry on.

Samsung Galaxy GT-I5510M One to One copy? odin?

I'll try to make this as short as possible.
Basically, I have the I5510M, and flashed it from the stock Froyo rom to a gingerbread rom for the wrong region. Now it won't flash the original rom. Assumingly because of something that was changed in the bootloader or some other thing.
If I try to flash it, the device won't boot.
So I managed to get my hands on another identical device - I'm wondering if its possible to backup literally everything about the phone into some form Odin flashable thing.
I mean -everything-, the radio, the bootloader, the system, etc. A simple nandroid backup won't work, because it doesn't include things such as the radio.
Unfortunately the only CWM recovery rom available for the device only works with gingerbread. I've tried flashing it to the new phone on the froyo rom, and it simply won't work. I had to flash the stock recovery back onto it with odin.

Help with flashing rom, kernal, recovery, modem

I am gonna try to flash wild for the night rom. I do have a few questions before I start. Right now I believe I am on stock rom, rooted. These are the details under about phone, android version 4.1.2, baseband version S710.10.S.GB08, kernal version 3.0.3+, build number JZ054K.SPH-D710.GC01, software version GB08. With the credentials I have now, I booted into recovery and I'm on a agat 0.3.2 recovery. When I go into my file explorer, I don't see the file for this recovery, it should be a zip, right?? I have a file named agat 0.6.8 that I used when I was rooted on the stock rom, would this recovery work with my current credentials in case I try to flash wild for the night and something goes wrong and I have to restore a backup. I am confused when it comes to this stuff, I just want to make sure I have all my basis covered.
Do I need a different recovery for this wild for the night rom, if so, which one?? Can I do a full wipe data with the credentials I have now> I thought I read somewhere where full wipe creates bootloops. Also, what modem do you recommend and when do I install that, there are many choices of modems, after the rom?? On the wild for the night xda thread, it says something about changing the governor and changing back?? what do I change it to? Also, I heard that the current version has echo issues, is this true? Thanks in advance.
Also, recovery and kernal are in the same package, right?? If I have to flash another recovery, when do I flash that, before the rom??
One last question, what is the order I will flash, kernal, then rom, then gapps, then modem??

Installing of Custom Roms always fails and baseband question

Hi. I just flashed my F180K back to it's stock rom, then used LGNPST to flash teenybin. After that boot into recovery, pushed custom rom, the MIUI 4.2, then installed it. It just fails, almost all roms I have fails. And also the network is down upon flash if ever I used a stock rom, so I flashed baseband, and seems successful, got the signal, but most of the time, I can send any sms! Any help?

[Q] android.phone.process problem on most ROMS.

Hi there, I am not new to installing Roms in any way but I accidentally installed a d2lte Liquid smooth ROM instead of what my phone is, a d2att. So when installing the above ROM I did everything what I was supposed to do (clean install, format system). However, whenever I go on any ROM (Such as Quantum or Omni) I get an error as soon as it boots up, and my signal keeps turning on and off. I wiped data, cache and dalvik twice and go to a new ROM and the problem persists. For some odd reason, Carbon ROM works but I need a different one due to battery drain. I've never experienced this problem ever and I was hoping someone could please help me out?
Have you tried re-flashing the modem?

Yes i tried that earlier but still no luck. It's weird though how there was no problem on carbon rom and yet there was a problem when i went back to the Quantum Rom. Something happened on the LiquidSmooth Rom but i don't know what. I will again try reflashing the modem though thank you.
EDIT: Re-flashing modem did not help
Is it possible to use Odin to get back to a completely stock rom? If you have a 4.3 bootloader, you can't use Odin to flash a stock ROM.
A way to get back to a stock ROM for those on the MJB bootloader has been provided by enewman17. See AT&T I747 UCUEMJB Stock Restore in the development forum.
