Hello,
I have browsed in the registry of the new JasJar ROM, and found the following profiles in \HKLM\System\Storage Manager\ :
HDProfile
MMC
PCMCIA
USBFDProfile (Floppy Drive)
USBCDProfile (CD Drive)
USBHDProfile (Hard Drive)
and more.
Has anyone tried to connect a USB storage device with the new rom?!? :!:
they were in the old registry aswell.
As Carnivor has said they where there before, didn't work then and will not work now.

How to backup ROM before flash?
I think the technique is written in the big storage hack instructions.
Not sure, can't remember exactly how now from my memory!

Hi,
Backup is fairly simple:
- get ntrw.exe & romugrade.exe from the ftp
- get a SD-card > 64MB
- make backup of everything you want to keep from your magician & SD-card. everything will be wiped!!
- fully charge your magician
- uncheck usb connection in Act.sync on your PC
- put your magician in Bootloader (camera & power & soft-reset at the same time for a few seconds) wait till screen fades & reads 'serial v1.0x'. Screen is very dark since backlight is of.
- connect usb, now the screen reads 'usb v1.0x'
- start romupgrade on your pc
- pick the magician connection in the listbox, wces something I belief
- now a screen pops up
- type d2s in this screen
- follow progress on pc & magician
- wait till checksum finishes
- get SD from the magician & put it into a cardreader. DON'T FORMAT!!!
- put ntrw in C:\
- start a command window
- type on commandline: ntrw read myrom.nb1 [sd driveletter]:
- follow progress
- error at the end is normal
- finished
- reset your device & restore backup

USE MMC CARD ...
After ntrw.exe xxx x:
file "xxx" = 501 MB - may be something wrong ?
Or in "romupdate.exe" i must type :
d2s 80000000 84000000 ?
The backup of your mmc/sd-card is the size of your card. Ntrw makes a raw copy of it. d2s has nothing to do with it. You can cut the file around 64MB, there's a marker in it, though I still haven't looked it up & don't know it by hard (@ work now). It's easy to find when you got a rom-image from the ftp & have a copy of hex-edit @ http://www.hhdsoftware.com/hexeditor.html

OK, How to unlock EXT ROM on Qtek s110 ?
S110 = Magician isn't it?
Then can only be made visible (on PPC), BIG Storage hacked (via PC) or changed with a tool like bal666 made (via PC). The second & third option requires a rom-update the first only a hard-reset & just before the customization starts a soft-reset.
M
So I need to backup ROM, Edit ROM, and Flash s110 ...
->
After backup, File 501 MB...
->
Cut File around 64 MB
->
Start Editing tool "Windows Mobile 2003 - ROM Editor"
->
"Windows Mobile 2003 - ROM Editor" say to me:
" The following passwords were tried 921211, HTC but
none seemed to work. if you are sure this is a WM 2003
update file you can try to enter an alternate password "
-> How to open ROM to edit, to delete some programs from EXT ROM, and Flash s110 ...
This 'Windows Mobile 2003 - ROM Editor' is it from bal666? If so contact him pls. I haven't got any personal experience in rom editing so far. I went for BS & that skipped all editing.

Hacking the Ipaq RW6100 CDMA PPC ROM?
I have an Ipaq RW6100 which is only avaiable in Korea.
http://www.ipaq.co.kr/product/rw6100/index.asp
It is awesome. pxa270 520 CPU, wifi, 260K LCD, Sharp 1.1 megapixel CCD Camera, 128 ROm, 64 RAM. Now running on wm2003se.
Surprisingly, the current ROM version of my Rw6100 does NOT support landscape function. u know, no landscape function certainly compromise the wifi internet browsing.
so i want 2 upgrade the rom. upgrade (the official way) is done on pc with ipaq is usb synced with desktop PC.
unfortunately, upgrade program needs to confirm the ipaq is correctly plugged with ac adapter. So it needs the orginal cradle, coz Rw6100 has no separate ac port. charging or usb sync is both done through the same port with different cable. Only the cradle can handle ac charging and usb sync at the same time.
I have only the usb sync cable and the ac adapter, but not the cradle. these two simply can not plug into the same port concurrently. usb sync and usb charging together can not fool the upgrade program.
Can anyone help? btw, i can not enter usb remote update mode with usual key pressing on HP PPCs. neither do i succeed running the enterbootloader.exe file and manually put the rw6100 into bootloader mode.
I have looked into the official rom. It is a 128M NBF file (coz this Ipaq has 128M ROM). If it is a usual NBF file, it is then 32 byte rom info+ROM. in theory, deleting the first 32 bytes will leave a .nb0 wince image. I have done this and leave the new nb0 file onto sd card. (I have found the sd card update method by myself)
the screen says the sd card has no rom image. Failed again. Is it because I have put no bootloader file on sd card too? Because I have no idea of where to get the bootloader file. No luck.
Email to HP Korea proves not much help.
Another reason. This PPC could not have a wince image as large as 128M. Now I have about 78m usable flash space on my current PPC. Is it because i have not successfully ripped off the right-sized wince rom?
Could anyone help rim the correct wince ROM from this 128M ROM update file? I need badly the native screen rotation function in wm2003se.
ROM update address:
http://h50177.www5.hp.com/support/FA294PA/more_info_local_19768.html
it is a 43m exe file download. running on host PC will get a 128M nbf file.
the upgrade proggie is the usual ruu.exe
btw, i have found the following bootloader info by hex editing the 128m nbf file.
enter your selection: R) View SD card
D) Download Image to SD card
L) Launch existing flash resident image now
P) Power Test
C) CPLD GPIO Set Test
W) WLAN Test
K) Flash Lock Status
F) Flash Write Test
E) Flash Erase Test
A) AC97 Test
V) View Memory
I) Download FLASH or SDRAM image through USB
8) LCD Test
USB Boot Loader Configuration:
If i can find out the way of entering it, there will be much hope of successful rom upgrading
Maybe somebody would be able to to send to me driver usb for win98 (for my SPV M2000 if this matters). Only ActiveSync does not working, my windows still needs "drivers for usb" (but I don't have CD).
My addres is simply: (nick) + @gmail.com (if somebody will send packed file must change the end on ".zi_" or something like this).
Nobody can help me ?
Try this website
http://www.usb-drivers.com/
What are you trying to do?
Active Sync?
If you want to use it as an USB Mass Storage device look here: Generic w98 mass storage device driver
Cheers
Yes i tray to run Active Sync.
When i connect PDA to PC (with Win98) i have information "new device found, drivers needed", but i must press "Cancel" because i don't have this driver :-(
When i run Active Sync - i have information "No device found on: Com 1-8, IR, USB. Check communication cable"
www.usb-drivers.com - i don't found there drivers for XDA, MDA, SPV, Qtek etc.
Generic w98 mass storage device driver - I don't have English version Windows 98, and this driver can't run.
Maybe somenoe send me this Win98 driver form CD ??? It should be no bigger file than 500K.
Active Sync installs the driver from wceusbsh.inf
In there you find
[Win9xWDMFiles]
;wceusbsh.sys
Click to collapse
Perhaps remove the ; from that line?
Do you know your usb pnp id?
[HTC]
%USB\Vid_0BB4&Pid_00CE.DeviceDesc% = Host_Inst, USB\Vid_0BB4&Pid_00CE
%USB\Vid_0BB4&Pid_0A01.DeviceDesc% = Host_Inst, USB\Vid_0BB4&Pid_0A01
Click to collapse
If you know your usb pnp id you can add a modified line from that section
to the wceusbsh.inf file.
You can also comment out (; at the start of the line) this line
[ControlFlags]
ExcludeFromSelect = *
becomes
[ControlFlags]
;ExcludeFromSelect = *
and then manualy select a HTC device.
Cheers
BIG THX
i have only remove ";" (comment sign) from this sction:
[Win9xWDMFiles]
;wceusbsh.sys
Click to collapse
...and ewerything works
(in [HTC] section i already have had some about 50 devices)
Hi All
I have Voice Command 1.6 (paid for of course) but can still not get my PC to connect to my orbit since my hard reset (although I don't have the original cable, I've been successfully using my mini usb to charge but can't sync).
This is the only app I use that doesn't have a cab. Is there any way of getting the cab out of the exe so that I can put it on my micro sd?
Cheers
Look in the program folder on your PC where you installed Voice Command (for example "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Voice Command"). You can generally find the cab files for the ppc versions in there.
Callmemoe - you are a complete star - I'm up and running again - can't live without this program whilst I'm in the car ! Thanks again
hello there, this forum is great and it helped me a lot, but now i have again a problem:
I'm using an acer aspire laptop (without bluetooth) so i recently bought a Bluetooth usb dongle... and now i would love to connect my HD via bluetooth to my laptop using activesync, but I've some problems...
the situation on my laptop:
the bluetooth dongle installed successfully and is working (I can send and receive files via bluetooth)
the situation on my HD:
it detects my laptop and connects to it very well but when i try to connect via bluetooth in the activesync progg (on my HD) it gives me an error:
(I have a dutch device so i will try to translate the message)
"Could not find an existing bluetooth connection with a pc that supports activesync. would you like to create one?"
"Yes" -- "No"
if i click no it closes the message.
And when i click yes it redirects me to the bluetooth settings (then i go to the devices tab and there i find my laptop when i tap on it, it opens the settings and in the list i see activesync checked)
so whats the problem ... or what do i wrong
can some one please help me ... please i need it,
or better is there an alternative activesync... (already searched the web but no results)
A BIG THAANXZ TO ALL OF YOU
sorry for my bad English
ps: i use the original rom of htc and i use vista (so wmdc)
(whoa over the 90 views and no answer? )
oke now i am sure... it's the HTC's fault , cause i tried to connect my HTC Apache (with an older rom.. and an older version of activesync mobile) via bluetooth and it worked like a charm!
[first connected it with usb cable to set up a profile then disconnected it.
opened activsync (on mobile) Menu -> connect via bluetooth -> set a new partnership -> found the pc and connected ! ]
but with the touch hd it says that there are no pc's that support a bluetooth connection via activesync...
so does any one has a cab for activesync (an older version or a newer that works)
(or cloud some one tell me how to get the activesync (cab) on the appach and then install it on the htc)
thaanxz
why is there no response? is it so difficult?
Problem solved ThanxZ 4 nothing this time -.-
if any one has the same problem i can help
