Edited: Some sources say it will have no Bluetooth A2DP. That would be really bad: I want to redirect all my sounds to my headset. I want official options. Too afraid of hacking the registry.

Don't worry, A2DP will be supported in the upcoming ROM. Although Jim has mentioned a date of 23rd Feb, it might be delayed till the 28th or even upto 1st week of March. However, 99% the ROM will be released before the end of the month

What exactly are you saying? There will be 2 ROM releases? The first one will be out by the end of the month but will not have the a2dp profile. This will be followed up shortly with another ROM upgrade that will add a2dp support (release date?). Sorry to ask this question, but I really want the a2dp profile (I don't care that much about push email.) Thanks for clarifying.
No, there will be one single release with both A2DP and push email integrated. 2 seperate releases would just be pointless and not very "user-friendly".

One is AKU2 2.0 and one is AKU2 2.2
AKU2.0 is with PUSH Technologie, and the 2.2 has the A2DP in it.
The first ROMS that will come out, will have the AKU2. After that there will be AKU2 2.2. Right now , there are still too many problems with the second one . So be patient !

Regarding ROM numbering, it seems to be something quite new.
However, filename ends with "...test"... Maybe it is still an internal beta version which leaked!?
i installed it. MSFP confirmed. OS 5.1.195 (Build 14847.2.0.0)
first thing you'll notice added is the Wireless Manager Today Plugin, the clock is included in the Date Today plugin, a battery icon at top bard, Wireless Manager is now Comm Manager with different UI
... and one of the nicest addition.. KEYPAD LOCK!

Tried it on my Qtek 9000, but always got the message "ERROR 120: COUNTRY ID ERROR"
Ok, got it!
Extract all files from .exe to one folder with WinZip, and then replace "ROMUpgradeUt.exe" with "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe" on Unversal ftp Upload folder.
The same as used for the radio upgrades.

it's pretty smooth so far... love the new battery icon on top. Yet to see how faster push email is though...
Hmmm, no Stereo Bluetooth Audio. But no surprises there, really.
Comm Manager is basically the same as my SP5 now, and the battery icon on the TaskBar rather than in the system tray does nothing for me, especially as it means they've had to move the clock onto a today screen plugin...I never have the date plugin visible on my today screen, but I do want to see the time somewhere anyway!!! Anyway, reg hacks will sort that out.....Device lock is probably helpful for those who often use their Uni's in "Tablet/PDA" mode, and it's inclusion brings the Uni into line with other WM5 PDA's now. Oh, and the built in themes have finally been cut down a bit (still 738k, and 695k though!). Storage space is pretty much unchanged, still about 40000Kb after removing Anti-Virus, Skype, and Backgammon.
However the best thing...is it just me, or does my Uni now run at about twice the speed that it was doing?!? Menus, Folders, and Settings screens all open without any delay, Orientation switching is finally bearable, and everything else seems to be whizzing along like you wouldn't Have thought possible.....for now!

Sorry I do not mean to pretend to know more than HTC or the original poster (being sincere here, no sarcasm), but I have an OMAP 2430 with Wm6, with an awful H264 decoder issue that I cant fix. (DSP level error). So unless these guys are using other hardware or DSPs I would expect at least 1 more version... sorry cant say my deadline.

where did you hear that? I was thinking more like June because of todays announcement by HTC.

I apologize the mda will not have an update to wm6 from t-mobile. however dash is all set for upgrade release may 4th. cant wait.

Crossbow on Universal is highly recommended.

I have 3G here, I can test, but no software to test.
WM6 on the Universal? I wouldn't recommend it (yet). Most ROMs have a buggy wifi, email (resolved on some), mms (resolved on some), etc.
And as mentioned, no video call.
But if you don't need video call and wifi... Go ahead with Crossbow. You might wanna try Midget's or Ivan's latest.
Everything is working fine on crossbow, but, IMHO, the only glitch is the issues with WIFI like you cannot connect to wpa networks
Second issue is buggy video call
general impression positive. Things that I'm missing:
-wifi (wpa)
-phone keypad (still would like to be able text with one hand from time to time).
however I don't miss it much enough to get my previous ROM (not yet anyway).
I believe this are only temporary problems. Big thanks for such a good work.

Everytime I install a new WM6 rom, then, after 0.5h playing with it, I m always back to my trusty WM5's ROM(see my sig)
i have the videocall option for 2 years on my contract.
since then i have 5-6 hours of free videocall that i never used because most people don't have videocall, and because it is much easier to speak on a BT handsfree than to keep the 300g monster in my hand, pointed to my face while walking on the street.
so, i don't realy understand the need of videocall.
but i need wifi very much.
now i am using the original ROM that camed with my spv m5000.
should i upgrade to a newer WM5, or should i stay with the original one untill the release of a WM6 with wifi support?

Kozhura, the genius behind the success of WM5 AKU 3.5 on HX4700 said that he will be workin on WM6 after finishing the russian build of WM5. so just hang in there.
I also hope to see this for US units too, that would be great. It's too bad HP discontinued the best PDA they have ever made....

I'm using WM6[MagLite Edition,A01] on my AXIM x50v.
It's faster than WM5(wm2003se-like performance). and WM6 supports SDHC(over 8GB SD cards).
of course, it has some problems. for example, some applications doesn't work on WM6.
Well, it's confirmed...kozhura is working on WM6 for the HX4700 and in a week or 2 we should see a beta. Yes !!!! After what he (and his partners in this) did with WM5 on the system, I can't wait to see what he does with WM6 !!!!!

Sorry, it's already there, but unless you are a chinese rom-master (for whom, if any, I posted it) - I will not recommend to use my version, because I will not update it any further and after some time will delete it from that forum.
But kozhura+qwerty surely will release a more better english version soon, qwerty's mod of aku3.5 was really good so I think wm6 will be even better.

I just pulled the trigger on an Artemis! I should have it by Friday and I'm ready to upgrade it to the B&B ROM with touch flow.
However, there were a couple of posts from two people that said the transcriber was missing when they upgraded. I also asked Tom in the thread but, that thread is so long, I don't know if he ever read my question. Can someone verify if the transcriber still works with the new B&B ROM? If so, I'm ready to upgrade and donate to Tom.
There is no transcriber as Tom never puts it in, and there are many bugs in B&B4 which Tom is doing his best to remove in the next release.
Perhaps you might want to wait for B&B 4.1
