I've pretty much decided I'm gonna get a Desire on contract from TMobile on Friday (payday, yay!).
I saw someone else write that they're gonna order over the phone then collect their handset from a shop (so long as the shop has stock).
I'd like to do this so I can have the phone as soon as possible, however my sim card will need to come through the post. I'm currently on Vodafone. I assume the Dream will be locked to TMobile.
Can I use a TMobile PAYG sim for the time being? I think it has £5 credit on it - I'm hoping this will be enough to sign me into my Google account and browse the web a bit while I'm at work Saturday (no wifi there).
Also, can I be signed into my Google account from 2 phones at the same time (Dream on Voda, Desire on TMobile)?

Yes, the PAYG sim will be fine, though data on it may not work straight out of the box - you may need to get T-Mobile to activate it on your PAYG sim (...I've never had a PAYG sim myself but I've passed several of my old contract phones on to PAYG sim holders without any problems).
I don't see there would be a problem with having 2 phones signed into your Google account at the same time but if there is I would expect each phone to be logged out as necessary and then log itself back in in the background when it needs to.
Taking my HTC One X (unlocked) to the US on holiday for 3 weeks, can I get a prepaid micro sim & does anyone recommend one ?
You can get a prepaid sim for AT&T at Best Buy or straight talk at Walmart. Either will work, but straight talk uses AT&T as well as T-Mobile so if you get a T-Mobile one you will only get 2G. In terms of Microsim you will have to have someone at an AT&T or T-Mobile store to cut the sim for you because prepaid sims are full size.

I would recommend the Straight Talk from walmart, but I haven't tried seeing if they sell sims in the store. Thought they were online only.
I've had great success with the T-Mobile USA PAYG SIMS from SIM Card Guru - takes a week or so for delivery. They'll even ship it pre-cut to micro-SIM size.
Prepaid SIMs
Straight Talk offers a micro sim but it is only available online. You can choose either AT&T or T-mobile (I have the AT&T flavor). I have found their service to be very reliable. Good luck!
So, I am going to Rinteln, Lower Sax the 7th of july for a couple weeks, and I am just curious if any one knows if I will be able to find a prepaid sim card to use in my G2 while I am there. There is always calling over wifi if not, but its worth a shot.
Perhaps there are even some locals that can respond.
Thanks in advance

If you are a t-mobile customer use wifi calling
We were just in Europe and I had international roaming turned off. What we used was wifi calling. I could send text message (mms didn't work) and receive text message (they get queued up and you get them when you connect) and call back to the states free. We thought it worked very well.
I live in Germany and I am using Alditalk which is using the eplus network.
There you have very cheap data flatrates.
You can simply buy them in an ALDI Supermarket.
O2 traveler sim
Last time I was there O2 had a traveler pack promotion but it might have expired.
Drop by any O2 shop and ask them about it.
Sim card for Germany
With the pre-paid global SIM card, you get the benefit of having the same number, which you can carry through your journey in different parts of the world. On top of that, the calls that you receive are free of cost, no matter where it is generated from.I'm using holidayphone during my foreign tour especially in Spain, Italy. They providing cheap and best services.
Hi all
I just got my new S6 on Credo (uses the Sprint network). I know I have to call customer service and have them unlock my phone in order to use an international SIM, but I'm curious as to which SIM I should get. I'll be traveling to the UK in August and staying for 3 weeks, so I would like to know if there is a UK network provider that will sell me a nano SIM and a prepaid service with data for a month. If anyone has any suggestions of what provider to go for, I'd appreciate it. Ideally I'd like to buy the SIM now and have it mailed to my house in the US so I can just stick it straight in at the airport when I get off the plane.
Thanks
I know that to enter the unlock code, I have to stick in a non-AT&T SIM card. I use StraightTalk which piggy backs on AT&T's network, so my SIM card doesn't trigger the unlock code screen. It just works. But I would like to unlock the phone anyways so that I don't have to keep track of my code.
Is my only option to borrow someone else's SIM card?
I ended up going to walmart and buying a tmobile prepaid starter package, used it to unlock my 2 fire phones and returned it.
This is my precise issue. I've not yet been to Walmart, but I am wondering how one can return a prepaid starter package. Don't the SIM cards normally come in a card out of which one punches the SIM card? Can it really be returned, if one's not activated and used it? I'm not on good enough terms with a T-Mobile user whom I know to ask to borrow the card for a few mins. . . . (And most people would find the request a bit bizarre and not understand.) Kindly describe the prepaid option and what it is you returned, etc. Thanks in advance.

You can also go to one of those phone stores where they sell service for multiple providers and ask for their sim card trimmer. Some will charge you a buck to do it, and some will say they don't want to be responsible for it if it screws up, but will let you do it yourself
