Hi,
I need to unlock an LG Incite (CT810) phone sim locked to at&t.
any body??
a code from at&t is needed to unlock your phone, the easiest way to do this is to call customer support on the terms of "international travel and prepaid sim cards"

Thanks, is there a certain strategy to do so.
does this also mean that i can turn my contract into a prepaid account using this approach, I'm indeed going to travel for a long period (maybe 6 months)..??
thanks
If you poke around on eBay you can get a code in a couple hours for the price of around $5. I guess it depends on what your time is worth. I decided to give up a few bucks rather than waste a lot of time on the phone with AT&T, or searching the internet. The ct810 Incite is phone specific also when unlocking. This means there is not one code to unlock all Incites.
I buy the phone from Amazon, and i don't want to activate the line (i still didn't) ... will that cause any problems ??
if yes, can i activate the phone, then due to traveling abroad i convert the contract to prepaid account??
I once bought a prepaid package and i never activated the line... and the telephone still works till now without problems.. i'm not sure if this is the case with contract phones too ..
will the universal sim unlocker (here in the forum) work on the incite?
As here we dedicate only to HTC devices you won't get too much attention.
better to try here:

Good luck,
Have just debranded a HTC Desire from Orange(UK) to T-mobile only problem is i can get on internet to download apps but i cant make or receive calls!
All it says is a womens voice saying "calls are currently not being connected to this number"
Has this phone been blocked somehow.
It was originally bought from Ebay could it have been blocked or something?
If so is there anyway round it.
The sim works fine in other phone perfectly!
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Blocked I would think. I think there is a service to check the imei. Search Google. Phone will only work in foreign country now.

When you say "debranded" did you mean unlocked? or did you just remove all the Orange cr4p from it?
Did it work before you did this? (though I'm guessing you din't try becasue you didn't have an Orange sim card).
As it was on orange originally i paid a small fee to have it unlocked (only had to give over IMEI number).
After that i debranded it via making goldcard etc, thought all was fine as wireless worked but cannot make or recieve calls!!
If it is blocked, which countries will it work in?
Is there nothing i can do?
I had a very similar problem. I travel a lot to other countries and have various sim-cards for the different countries that I visit regularly. I received similar messages to yours and only found out when trying to make a call that the sim card had expired. Apparently they only last for 12-24 months (in the countries I'm talking about) then you have to get a new card and, unfortunately, new number.
Also had the same problem when I just bought my Desire. I too had it unlocked and a few days later, for no reason at all, what's happened to you happened to me. So I viewed my mobile phone account online on the providers website and found that my account was "missing". I tried the online live chat and they told me my account had been cancelled. They couldn't explain why but after a lot of protesting by me they magically re-instated it.
I think the best advice is to contact T-Mobile. Maybe the sim needs activating, if not done already, or maybe there's a problem with the account or the sim is faulty.
Try another T-Mobile sim in it, or another provider to see if they work. You can get them for free now.
I added two lines to my parents' T-Mobile family plan through telephone sales and chose the slowest shipping method, so it won't get here until Monday evening, but I'm going to fly out of state on Monday morning. Will I be able to go to Walmart, and buy a pre-paid T-Mobile burner, use the SIM card, and activate my Galaxy Nexus so i'll have the phone up and running tomorrow? If so, will it deactivate the SIM that they're shipping me?
There really isn't any activation involved with GSM phones. Just pop in whichever sim card you want and go.

How will it know which T-Mobile account my phone is on?
The account and number are tied to the sim card. I was under the assumption you were going to buy a prepaid sim for the short term and that would be fine. However, would not be tied to your account and would have a different number.

would I be able to buy the burner prepaid SIM, call T-Mobile and say I want to use that SIM card and assign it my account instead of the SIM card that they're sending me?
Don't know how t-mob works but I can change my sim anytime and my carrier will put my number there no problem

Not if you want to pick your phone number. The prepaid sim already has its own phone number and you can't change it.

The only thing that is activated on T-Mobile (and most GSM-based carriers) is the SIM card. The phone is not "activated." That is just how GSM works.
Unless I am misunderstanding, you just want an active SIM to use with your new line right? If you have one available you can just walk into a local T-Mobile store and tell them to give you a new SIM for the account/line that you just opened. Afterwards, any other SIM, including one they may mail to you, will not be associated to that line. They do not allow multiple SIMs to be assigned to a line. Activate one, deactivate any other. That's the way it works.

No that wouldn't work cause the prepaid sim would already be active you'll either have to use the non active sim that comes shipped or get to a corpo store and pick up a free one. Imma sales rep for tmob

i guess this is a non issue now. i called T-Mobile to inquire about this but wanted to check my plan first and it turns out the telephone sales lady while telling me my 3rd line would be free due to an account offer, i now actually have to pay for it. i thought the offer was too good, but she confirmed it and i actually have a CallRecorder recording of the conversation. Most likely going to cancel the changes, revert to the previous account and return the phones when they're delivered tomorrow. What a **** feeling, i was really looking forward to activating and using my Nexus too.

That's way more trouble than its worth to try and get working. Why exactly do you want to do this? T-Mobile gives you a SIM already... and if you need another, they'll give you another lol.
Prepaid SIMs are different plans and services and are not transferrable between T-Mobile postpaid and prepaid, generally.

They do give a SIM however it's being mailed and delivered tomorrow but i found out yesterday i have to head out of state tomorrow morning. I called a few TMo stores and they all want to sell me a SIM for $20.
As for the prepaid plans, i just want the SIM from the prepaid phone. From what I've read, the prepaid phone doesn't include any type of plan, it's $20 for the phone and SIM card and a few starter minutes?
Hopefully I won't have to fight T-Mobile too hard to cancel the add a line changes I made last week, I"ll just return their phones or reject delivery and go with Straight Talk for a few months until my parents' T-Mo plan expires in August and add myself then. Such a hassle haha.

But those SIMs are for prepaid only. They can't be used with postpaid plans.
Think of a SIM Card like a Key to your Number on T-Mobile and it's affiliated plan.
That's it. SIM Card in, enter PIN to unlock the Card on the current device, and off you go.
Call, text, whatever.
Internet settings should be updated automatically.
It seems that the Glide is only an AT&T-branded phone. Has anyone used one with GoPhone? Thought about picking up an unlocked one on eBay but I don't want to encounter the same "Invalid SIM card" issue I encounter when I put my GoPhone SIM card into my unlocked AT&T-sourced Skyrocket. Thanks for any info!
I can't say for certain, but I don't see why not. I use my phone with the T-Mobile monthly 4g plan and everything works fine. I do however, only have an EDGE/2g speed data wise due to the frequencies, but the phone was designed for AT&T so that wouldn't be a problem for you.

Appreciate the reply, narume. I think that the issue arises from this:
trinikartel said:
Let me know if you ever get that working.
What i THINK is that any phone that comes out of AT&T's clutches are in their system (both imei and with carrier iq) so once it you pop a sim into it and the information is matched to a device in their system they know what can and can't be allowed for the device. With international devices they don't have those IMEIs (which is why they always want the imei from you so they can match it in their system)
Your note is international...they can't "match or track it" so to their system it's just another random dumb phone
Your skyrocket is a known LTE/HSPA+ device to the system so it says no cheap data for you

So...assuming that this reasoning is correct, if AT&T knows that it's their phone they will have blocked its IMEI from being able to access data through GoPhone. And I would need 3G access in order to use it on my MicroCell. Anybody...?
Any at&t phones will work on go phone, and you can use a microcell as well, your phone still uses the 3/4G signal to connect for calls and texts. Also to get data to work for pictures, and mms you just need to call them and they will send you the apns, my nephew in law has an atrix 2 on a microcell with pic messaging working great. They also have a solstice 2 (dump phone) on the microcell, both go phones.

If you're getting Invalid SIM, you may have a locked SIM card, something AT&T started doing with their prepaid a while back. New prepaid accounts have the SIM locked to the phone it was purchased with for ~3 months, after that I believe you have to either call or visit a store to have the lock removed.
Other than that, there's no reason it shouldn't work, but do remember that AT&T will see it as a smartphone. This means with their new prepaid plans, if you're using the 10 cents a minute plan you'll be unable to use data at all. If you're using one of the flat amounts per month, like the $25 or $50 plans, you'll need to purchase a data package (even though the $50 is SUPPOSED to include unlimited internet, smartphones aren't eligible).
I previously used a Motorola Flipside on AT&T's prepaid, before this change I was using the 10 cents a minute plan, with 1000 texts a month and buying a 500mb data package, then rolling over unused data each month with the 10mb package, and everything worked the same as if I was on postpaid - text, mms, internet, etc.
Thanks all! I'm 1½ months into my prepaid service. I'll check with AT&T after 3 months have passed and see if they can remove the SIM lock.
You might go ahead and call customer service anyway, who knows, you may get lucky. 3 months was what a rep told my friend a year or so ago, but that may have changed or may not have been the rule at all. Alternatively, you can go into a local store and purchase a new sim (or purchase one on ebay) and have them transfer your account over to it, just make sure they give you a regular sim and not a go-phone sim.
I just tested my captivate glide with the sim I was using in my flipside. It seems to read the sim just fine, though obviously I'm not still a prepaid customer so I can't make any real calls with it. I've also used it on a T-Mobile MyTouch 3G that was unlocked, briefly, when I was working on the flipside. Once you have the sim lock removed I expect you'll have no problems using it in any unlocked or AT&T locked phone.
If you use the 50 dollar plan and use the wap.cingular apn it will use data just set that up before you put in your sim, and do call they should unlock it for you, if not tell them you will be going to straight Talk at&t phones work locked on them since it's a part of at&t just ran by walmart.

I have two Glides that I activated in June. NEITHER WAS SIM-LOCKED, ever.
Both are the newer 4G SIM, not the older one that says 3G on it. Got em from eBay for about $2.75 each. Both were activated online, about 3 weeks apart.
The first one, I activated with an IMEI of a Glide that broke and was able to use the SIM on a different Glide and other phones, even the Pantech Burst and got 4G. I activated it as 10c plan, then moved it to the $50 unlimited.
The second one was activated with 0000... generic IMEI with the 10c plan, and just like the first one, I was able to use the SIM on any GSM phone I have in the house (and that's quite a few).
APN: wap.cingular - only the name is needed, no userid, etc.
I got ahold of a used t-mobile z2 force. Considering I'm still using a 2012 phone, this will be quite an upgrade for me. I tried the t-mobile app to carrier unlock but no luck. From reading here, it seems there are two options.
#1 - Get new a prepaid sim, activiate, then add $100 credit, wait a few days, then try the app again, eventually it will work.
#2 - Get/Borrow a used sim (doesn't matter if prepaid), put it in the phone, wait a few days, then try the app again, eventually it will work.
Am I right?
If so, any suggestions where to find a used sim? I tried ebay and they're all new and unactivated. Or maybe someone here did option 1 and doesn't need their sim anymore, PM me.
I looked into option #1 myself but at $3/month for voice/text only, it's not real useful to me as I use hangouts/voice for voice & text, all I really need is data. And with the prepaid unlimited I'd use up my $100 in two months, kinda a waste imo.
What error message did you receive? There are two kinds; the device is not eligible for an unlock or the device is unknown.
Unlock Failed: This mobile device is not eligible for unlock. For device Unlock eligibility details, please go online or contact Customer Care.
That error means the device is recognized by the server and can be unlocked when it is eligible. Since you’re not the original owner you won’t have any way of knowing when it will be eligible. The phone could still be on a payment plan or the original buyer could have defaulted.
If you need it unlocked quickly your best bet maybe finding a third party unlock service that can flag your IMEI as unlock eligible with the unlock server.
I'm more concerned about cheaply than quickly.
My understanding tho is that it is not under any contract. But even so my understanding is that the app won't unlock unless there's a SIM card in there too from an existing customer... but this is just based on searches, I'm still unsure.
I believe the phone has to be used for at least 45 days on a T-Mobile account to be considered for unlock.
If I had family or friend on t-mobile I'd ask them to use this phone a while. But I don't unfortunately, that would be the easiest.
I had my unactivated new in box T-Mobile z2 force that i got from a trade unlocked in a week after getting prepaid and putting 100 on it. That was the fastest and easiest way not knowing ppl who use tmo. Just wait a few days then call tech support and get them to escalate the unlock...say it's work related...after that restart and it will be unlocked.
I want cheapest, not fastest or easiest. $100 for unlock sounds crazy. Don't suppose you still have that sim card?
I don't know if my Sim would even help. I think with prepaid they go by imei so you might even have to add that $ to it. I think the Sim is just the door bell button.
oh... yeah I better figure that out. If they require prepaid sim to have added $100 since first used on that particular imei, then a used sim doesn't help.
So seems like 3 options.
1 - fork out the $100 to t-mobile,
2 - borrow a non prepaid t-mobile sim (loan my phone to someone) for possibly up to 45 days before able to unlock
3 - find and pay an unlock service
I wonder what these unlock services do that I can't.
Anyone have the link to the apk?

The app is preinstalled on supported phones only. If your phone does not have the app then it uses a different method to Sim unlock.
I tried 3 different eBay seller and none could provide me with a code.
Well I just paid $60 to try cellunlocker.net; hopefully it works. An advertisement posted 5 days ago says it will...

Have you heard anything in the meantime? I got an email (after I posted here last) saying it was ready, but it still won't unlock. Called them and the guy said sorry they'll re-do it, something about the wrong server. So back to waiting... losing confidence but still hopeful...
If it isn't too much trouble, keep me updated (in this thread) as to what happens for you, or if you end up asking for refund, etc....
Codes don't work on T-Mobile phones once the unlock app is on the device. Hopefully there isn't a balance on the device which would prevent it from being unlocked. For all the phones I use the app for, cuz I have T-Mobile and have gone through a quite a few devices, once it's paid off usually the app automatically works long as it was active service for 40 days prior.
Before the app I knew you could have someone with T-Mobile use this phone for a few days until it registers on the network and then you can request an unlock code and have it escalated.
I really want to lose patience
