Sounds like the screen ribbon cable has come loose- it only has a oush fit connector. Have you tried taking the back of and re-seating the cable?

If you didnt drop it or took it for a swim i think you might have a broken/loose flex cable, that happened to me a few weeks back (it got ripped in half) and unfortunately the flex ribbon is nowhere to be found, i had to buy a slide with a broken screen on ebay to take the flex and replace it on my phone.
i might be wrong but if the keyboard is lit up then this is the only explanation i can find...

Replacement LCD problems

Hi,
So I dropped my UK one X the other day, the fall was so bad the LCD popped from the frame and tore the ribbon cable for the LCD.
Now, I've ordered the replacement screen and after a strip down and rebuild which lead to removing the battery the new screen is now blank (phone charges and seems to power on)
After doing a quick search on this it is all pointing around syncing the screens - which I cannot do due to the broken ribbon cable on the old...
Any ideas how I can get this working without the syncing process?
It is rooted with a custom rom if that helps.
Thanks, Matt
Anyone? Kinda desperate.
I had blackscreen problem in recovery.

The phone does turn on as the light light up and it vibrates as if I'm trying to unlock it.
Its just the LCD is not powering up at all - Tried the cable reseating many times =(

Battery Charging Problem: NOT THE USB FLEX CABLE PROBLEM

Hi guys. I just got a flex power cable yesterday, and I installed it onto my gnex, but I still have charging issues (Boot up, 2-3 charge up cycle animation, reboot up, 2-3 animations again, rinse and repeat).
Could it be a problem with the back cover?
I also switched out the battery for an OEM one, and the phone is still acting like a jerk.
The thing is, when I pull out the usb cable, the phone still thinks it's charging for like 2-3 seconds before it turns off.
Could it be some random internal capacitors gone to sh1t?
I really REALLY want to solve this because I am not ready to ditch my gnex.
no one has a solution?
This phone forum seems to be dying.
Edit: try a factory reset. Use the stock recovery by holding the power and volume up and volume down if you can't get to your settings the normal way
I was facing the same problem until I moved the micro usb pin towards a bit to the screen using a very small screwdriver. you can try that once. but do that very gently so that it doesn't break. you can use a small plastic pin/toothpick also.
so far, its working fine for me.
I have the same problem and I have just tried this without any solution!!
I tried pushing the pin forward towards the screen. It doesn't work. Do I have to push harder?
Hi,
I hadthe same problem where no cables i tried worked..
I had to send mine in for service to change the pcb for my usb-port. it did the trick for 6 months time. nice phone, but ****ty usb contact..
hope it helps..

Could someone save my Nexus 7 out of the Crazy Screen. ?

Please someone help me.
I was still using it this morning. Then I took a nap with my Nexus on the bed. It has a folding cover on it. I might have put my thigh on it but when I woke up , the screen is showing crazy pixels. I tried rebooting but it stills does not help. I also tied pat it on the back. Nothing helps yet.
At first it seems also reponse to touches. I could hear the touch sound. After I long press power button , It has gone. Nothing responses at all.
Please help me.

Just re-seat the 'copper' flex cable. At first on motherboard's connector and if still not fixed, then also on LCD PCB's connector. But you must disconnect the battery before doing it, also watch this video.

I actually fix it without disconnect the battery. I took the back cover out then press on all the connectors again.
I did tried to power off by pressing power button for about 1 minute but I guess the tablet did not into off mode.
Anyway, I put the back cover back on and it go straight into recovery mode, with all the images showing correctly. I did a backup and reboot normally. Everything is working fine so far.

Phone can't boot

For what I read on this forum, probably my phone is bricked, but I have to know it for sure.
The phone simply shudown and starts a bootloop without showing anything: the screen is switched on, then off, then on, then off and so on. I do not see the Mi logo or anything else. I've tryed to keep pressed the power button and volume up+power button without any change in the behaviour. Sometimes it vibrates.
The phone is locked with the official globabl MIUI, so it's not a fault with custom ROM or recovery.
So, it's bricked?
Good news: the phone isn't in bootloop, simply the display connector has come loose. I've reinserted it correctly simply pressing on the back on the phone.

Why did you open the phone in the first place, isn't that why the display connector came loose, it won't come loose unless you opened the phone.

I've never opened the phone. I have no idea how the connector has come loose.
