Activesync 4.5 Beta 2 installation problems

Hi all,
i know this is a little bit off-topic, but I've posted it here in the Universal forum as it's relevant for those of us that have a Crossbow installation on our Universals.
you need version 4.5 of activesync installed to be able to sync.
there's my problem.
I can't get it to install.
the installer gets to about 95% and then the error message appears:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personal or package vendor."
can anyone help with this problem?
without Activesync my Universal is (for my) useless. I need my contacts & calendar!
I'm putting my trust and hope in you - don't let me down!

Have you tried downloading it again from Microsoft's site in case the one you have is corrupt?

....seems an incredibly abvious thing to do!
have downloaded it several times though and from different machines.
have also emptied my TEMP folder on the PC before installation.
still no luck.
bugger!

Best option run filemon and see what's happening/failing. Try turning off any virusscanner/any other weird app, that might be running buggering up file operations.

i guess that our corporate virus scanner is interfering.
annoying. the previous installations never caused any problems.
i'll have to see if i can get it to install another way.
i'll post back if i get lucky!
could i install if i do a safe start in windows?

i only managed to try the solution today as i've been off work sick.
a HUGE thanks to PDAWHORE (nice name!), his/her tip to upgrade the windows installer software did the trick!

Lookin' for some help with the ACR application!!!!

Hey guys,
I'm a newbie here, just joined last nite... I recently purchased a Touch Pro thru my local SPRINT Store. I was searchin' the web for an application that would allow me to record phone calls of my choice, and from what I can gather, ACR seems to be the way to go.....
So I read thru some posts here and decided to take it upon myself to give it a shot. Being that i'm rather ignorant to this sorta stuff, i'm a lil nervous about screwing something up.... I'm not an idiot, (well atleast not a complete one) but I am having some difficulties making this install go smoothly. I was able to download the 1.2.2. version to my phone. But the framework update doesn't quite seem to be going as smoothly......
I tried d/ling the 3.5 framework to my computer, then transfering it to my phone, but that didn't work.... Tried d/ling it on the phone itself, and it seems to have completely downloaded the file, but after that, nothing happened. I browsed thru the phone using file explorer to see if i could locate the NETCFSetupv35.msi file.....but cannot locate it any where.......
I'm sure this entire thread makes me look like a real dumbass, but i'm tryin my damndest to get this application to work, and it's frustrating the hell outta me cause i'm not that good at this stuff yet... Can someone point me in the right direction? I really appreciate the help, and atleast you all can have a good laugh at my ignornace.... you all make it look so easy, i'm very envious....
Is the 3.5 framework on the phone somewhere now since i downloaded the file? Do I just need to execute the file? or did it do that already and I'm just missing something??

I'm able to get the framework file on my phone. But for some reason, when ever I try to run it, it says there is no application associated with the file name. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ??? GIVE ME A HINT? ANYTHING? PLEASE???

the following ( if you did ignore )
1. do you have windows mobile device centre, installed on you pc..?
if you have, connect phone with usb to pc.. sync... etc..,
if you have ..then.
install ...NETCFSetupv35.msi from pc... not phone ( it is not a .cab file, but .msi file ..so pc installation. ?
2,application will install from pc and tell you to check phone ,when required to do so ..install on device, not storage card of phone

help needed for ps3 jailbreak.

hi all i have a problem and it is driving me nuts to fix it, the only people that can help me is you boys so pls do.
i ve read several dorums and no joy i dont no what im doing wrong.

I have a htc touch pro (raph100)
running energy rom.
my android verion is Android 2.2 Froyo][CyanogenMod 6. requires to partitions.
1q.Sdcard
2.ext2
ive copied psfreedom files modudles zimage and psfreedom.ko to my sdcard.
ran gscript or terminal, but i get the error message unable to insmod psfreeom.ko.
before i changed my android version, i was run xdandriod, with config changfe and was loading fine, when it used to tell when to disconnect from usb.
ive gone with Android 2.2 Froyo][CyanogenMod 6 because it looks better and runs better,
is there a way i can run the ps jailbreak hack with this android version.
i look forward to all the help please, and can you provide files that i need to make this work for me.

did u remove ur old modules.zip, when u copied the one from psfreedom to ur SD Card? happened to me the first time i tried to install psfreedom.ko
and the installation is a little vague. if u dont get a message, just an extra line or two, its installed ok. you can confirm that it's installed, by trying to install it again and getting an "already exists" message
Btw im not using cyanogen (but still using a rom, which requires partioning), so i cant guarrantee what i said will work for you

Also, you should post in that thread instead of creating a new one. Might be a good idea to do some searching/reading in said thread.

Can't install any .cab, unsuccessful, need serious help!!

I've looked around but no one seems to ever give an answer.
I have an HTC Touch Pro 2 (SPRINT). Every, and I mean every, (even RegEdit cabs) fail to install. I get "Installation of ________ was unsuccessful."
I do NOT get the choice to install onto device--as soon as I select, it fails.
I soft-reset. Nothing.
I hard-reset. Nothing.
I installed form both SD and phone directories. Nothing.
I downloaded the cab again. Nothing.
I am in serious need of help. What's the use of having this phone if I can't do a blasted thing to tweak or personalize it?
Any help welcome. Again, I have listed my problem and what I've done to try and resolve it. I cannot access registry from the phone, and I've tried through activesync but I don't have permission to change the phone's registry.

So this is odd if it happens even after a hard reset. Are there any Exchange security policies being pushed to your phone that may prevent the adding of programs? Have you tried installing anything from the Marketplace? Are you sure that the cab file you are trying to install is for Windows Mobile and is compatiable with 6.5? Can you install a .exe program when connected to a PC?

[Q] Wildfire s usb_drive / Device not found

Hey guys
I specialy registered to this forum for my next question/problem.
First of all, I'm using Wildfire s, 2.3.7, CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC1-marvel.KANG + i'm using Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
I was trying to install

But when i connect my htc to pc with usb debugging it fails to install the driver. I've downloaded many usb_drivers from all over internet and tried to install them manually using device manager but it doesn't seem to work.
Finly i found the "HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe and it worked on other computer (Win7). when i tried to install it in win 8 it gives an error telling that Driver installer in not supported for this OS. tried to run in capatibility mod but no luck.
Also tried to modify the usb_driver files "android_winusb" my adding lines in end etc.. still didn't work.
usually i don't ask help from any forum rather i google things and read other ppl posts. which worked.... until now So now i'm asking for help at this topic, i've been through almost every post in xda telling about Device not found, without any luck there eith.
If needed it's possible to remote controll my pc with teamviewer.
Help is really appreciated.
ps. device manager shows that yellow attention mark.

had trouble getting drivers for windows 8 64 to work when trying to flash ruu update. could not find drivers online or a thread on xda, eventually downloaded the google drivers from sdk, and they worked perfectly after manually installing them for the android phone and then again for the android 1.0 device when it boots to hboot.
