M2000

Sorry to annoy everybody, I have had my M2000 a while now and there are a few things I would like a hand with.
1) I unlocked the M2000 and am currently using it on O2 pay and go. However I cannot use GPRS, if anybody could help me out by telling me settings and/or how to connect properly I would be very grateful!
2) I am running Windows Mobile SE Version 4.21.1088 (build 14132) are there any upgrades possible at all to be able to use Windows Media Player 10? I don’t mind upgrading operating system as long as it doesn’t cost too much.
3) Is there a way to back up just my text messages from the M2000 so I can have them saved on my computer and/or my 1 GB SD card?
4) Finally (sorry about this) does anybody know why sometimes when I make calls I can’t hear the dial or the person talking but they can hear me? I have checked the volume (I'm not that dumb) but resetting it is the only thing that works, which is pretty annoying.
Thank you very much for your help. I know there are probably a million listings with these answers but if you could direct me to them or give me your own verdict I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks again.
1. do a search in the forum maybe excluded to the networking it forum
search string should be something along these lines "gprs AND payandgo"
or something like that
2
read this
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Home
3. again search for something like "SMS AND backup"
Thanks for that Rudegar, if anybody else can help me out on this one too, I would really appreciate it. You gave me a link to download WM5, are you currently using WM5, and would you recommend it? I have no programming experience really and it looks quite complicated to install so much so I don’t know what some of the files are etc. will there be an easier version where all you have to do is click a button and it will auto install? You’re the clever one here so ill do whatever you recommend, ill take your word for it. Thanks again Rudegar, if anybody else can help please do.
Thank you.
I have had my M2000 for about 2 months and for about the last month i have also been have the same problem as number 4, where people i call can hear me but i cant hear them, when i fiddle with the volume slider on the side i can sometimes (only sometimes) hear a split second of sound from the other person, its SO annoying having to reset
could be a radiostack issue
maybe an upgrade of it will fix it
also had some issues with my xda2 when people call it sometimes take awhile before they can hear me
the cause of that is bluetooth tools which seem to be trying to direct my call to my bluetooth headset
dont matter if i have a bluetooth headset though it still try take about 10sec before they hear me then
Hmmm, glad to hear I'm not the only one with that problem. It is really annoying though having to reset it when i need to make a call. I'm worried about using a radio update as I don't have a clue about who has made it and what it will do especially if its a con. Where can i go about getting a trusted Radio update? Talking about updates, is there a ROM update available?
Guys install this cab file it will fix your problem..
Or while you don't hear the other party just turn on the BT then turn it back OFF this will solve..
read these pages
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel
there you get all you need to know about upgrades of all kind
I have taken a huge risk in installing WM5... Well I'm doing my best anyway. I need some help though.
I have so far got to re-partitioning and formatting my device but whenever I press format an error message comes up saying "Error FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL_DRIVE failed" what the heck does that mean? can anybody help me out?
Big thanks to everybody who has helped me out so far with this and for anybody elce if you can help me, please do.
Thanks.
Anyone know if it is possible to remove a cab file like this after I have installed it? I've loaded it and it seems to have screwed up my pocket pc.
Thanks,
Cian
PHEW!!
I'm so glad i didn't install that cab. I was weary to start with and I'm glad i didn't it appears to be some sort of intruder on a pocket PC which jumbles up the settings. Just for anybody elce who is about to download it, take some advice, DONT PLEASE!!! I'm trying to upgrade my ROM but orange are crappy and dont supply ROM updates yet. Ill try the I-Mate Update. Fingers crossed. Thanks again to everybody who's helped me out!

A call for testing on a 'cooked kernel'

I really need to find if a known problem we have with standard WM6 on TyTn happens on 'cooked kernels'. I do not know enough about what you guys are doing to try it myself. We are a legit company: www.deterministicnetworks.com, and I just need some basic verification. Anyone willing to try out a miniport on any non standard kernel for TyTn please contact me.

Interesting request. Do you have a way to verify being with Deterministic Networks?
I'd possibly be willing to test, if things can be verified. At least if the miniport blows up like the one in the Cisco VPN client & totally nukes networking, I can always hard reset the phone.

Count me in with some warranty...
send me an email
I cannot give you a warranty, since this is unreleased on WM6, and my best verification I can come up with is to send me an email at:
<my first initial from user name>[email protected]<mywork>.com and I will send you an installable DNE binary for WM6 to try...
Since this post, I went and tried Schaps_WM6Pro_WWE_4.01_Full.exe and it had the same problem:
auto connect broken after power event, but pressing "connect" in control panel 17,1 works.

ASUS P526 audio problem

Hello.
This is my first post and hope someone can help me. My p526 has a bad audio.
Often on calling when I talk with some people it is quite impossible to understand what they say, the audio is very distorted.
Does someone know how to fix the problem? I know other friends have the same problem.
Thank you
Giano
we have the same problem with 4 devices on 2 different carriers
specially when calling voicemail or other automated telephon systems
I have the same problem
The ASUS P526 has the problems of weak processor, missing the wireless and 3G, old versions of Bluetooth and USB, but the major problem I've noticed is that it has bad audio clarity when speaking to someone? All previous problems I can forget because the P526 is realy well done, with jog-dial, additional numeric keyboard, GPS, WM6 etc, but it's problem with audio is a disqualifying issue, unfortunatelly.
Same here
Sometimes it is impossible to talk and sometimes it's much better. I hoped the first vendor software update will solve this problem, but it did not help.
Is there any hints what to try to solve this. Maybe hidden GSM module settings? Other tweaks?
Here the answer from Asus Service Center
Dear valued customer:
Thank you for contacting ASUS Customer Service.
My name is Christine and it's my pleasure to help you with your problem.
First, did you update your P526 to the newest system version? Please check if you have updated the firmware of Italy version v6.1.6.
If you still have the problem, you can hard reset your phone for a try, it is: Jogdial up + reset. But be aware that hard reset is like reinstall the system, so your personal settings to the phone like your own files and contacts will disappear, so please backup your personal information before hard reset.
If even hard reset can not work, there may be possibility that it is the hardware defect. So please send your phone to your retailer or ASUS service center, and I believe our engineer will help you to fix this problem!
If you have any other problem, please contact me!
Thank you for using ASUS products and enjoying ASUS services!
Christine

[Q] LG G3 McaFee issues big time

Hi everyone
This is my first post here and a sad one at present.
i restored my G3 back to stock last night and all seemed to go well but now my phone says McaFee mobile security your device is locked and is asking for a pin to unlock it.
i don't have this pin and i don't have a clue how to get it, i purchased the phone as a used mobile and it was all good until i did the root back to stock because lollipop was causing some serious lag issues.
can anyone please help me with a way around this if possible
big thanks in advance
Contact the person who sold you the phone. He entered the PIN. McAfee thinks the phone is stolen now.
You can try flashing stock firmware (kdz) file with CSE flash. It could help

Thanks for the reply
I contacted the seller and it seems the phone is infact 3rd hand if not more and basically he does not have the pin
i did the firmware flash and thats why I'm in the pickle now as the phone knows its been factory reset and MacaFee kicks in for security, the sellers not interested as he sold me the phone working which it was but lollipop was just killing the phone when i updated it and after trying to get back to kitkat I'm in brick land
If anyone else has a suggestion or can help then please do get in touch if possible
Thank you
In fact the previous owner set up an account here: McAffee Mobile Security.
Contact someone there and explain your situation.
I will contact McAfee for sure and see if they can help me but I do believe the answer I will receive will be can't help and I come to this conclusion through general security measure because I'm pretty sure anyone could steel a phone and call them up asking for the unlock code but let's see what they say.
If anyone has had this happen and have found a way around the issue please do send me a private message if you don't wish to publish it as I am stuck big time at present
Cheers
I have just got off the phone with McAfee customer support here in the UK and well to be blunt I'm up that creek without a paddle
Nothing they can do for me because even though the software licence is valid and I have the original owners email address that confirms this because I don't have a prof of purchase for the phone like a receipt or mobile number for the original owner they can not help me I'm anyway
All they said I can do is to keep emailing the owner with this email address and hope for a reply and if I get one enter the pin and it will unlock
So people be very careful if you don't have the pin for your phone as it looks like I have just lost £240 and now have a brick to look at
Again if any of you wonderfully cleaver people know of a fix please do help me out if possible
Thanks
Joe

have you tried any diff roms or cyanogen mod? maybe a diff software wont have the mcafee on like cyanogen mod
No I haven't tried to put any other software on because I can no longer access download mode as the McAfee has a kill switch and won't let me do anything from what I can see.
All I can do it switch on my device I can't even get into setting properly because the McAfee block kicks in to quickly and I've tried probably 20 odd times
If anyone can explain a way for me to flash another operating system onto my handset please get in touch as I will try anything rather than have a dead phone and e out of pocket
Cheers
Take it some private repair shop. They will solve your issue.

open the apk. on top , on the right there are like three dots. settings, scroll down to find device-buddy list.

Disable GSM feature

Hello All;
Great Forum; thanks for this first!
I need to give my HTC 10 to the repairshop for battery replacement;
But I don't want to let them put a simcard and make any call with my phone; because of some private security reasons...
Are there any way to disable GSM Radio?
After battery replacement; I should be able to switch on again.
I tried QPST but could not find anything.
Thank you!
There is nothing you can do in hardware or software that would prevent them from making a call if they put in a sim. If you don't trust the shop to do the repair you should go somewhere else.
Also, if the SIM card is switched it changes the number and information associated with the call. If your privacy concerns are beyond that then you should find someone that will let you sit there and watch them do the job.
