Enabling GSM 900 on GSM 850/1800/1900 imate-jam - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

:?: Is there any way ( Flash update/ Hardware MOD/ Any other? ) that a triband 850/1800/1900 i-mate jam would work on GSM 900? How can I get it working on GSM 900?
Thanking in advance,
Nimesh

Short answer, you can't. It is a hardware limitation, not anything to do with the ROM, and you are unlikely to find a hardware mod anyware.
A simple search of the forums would have given you the same answer as i just gave aswell....

Harrier Forum

Will there be such a thing as Harrier Support Forum here. In Canada Telus and various others are now selling this device on CDMA network, not perfect but nonetheless it is here. Officially known as Audiovox 6600 here in Canada. http://www.telusmobility.com/ab/pcs/handset_audiovox_ppc6600.shtml
Thanks
The harrier is a blueangel and thus we have a forum for it.
But is Blue Angel not a GSM device and the other a CDMA device. So none of the upgrades we talk about would actually work?
The radio is different, the Ce rom could be different, i dont know.
The issue is the forum, this is what you asked about.
do a search for harrier in the BA section, check wiki we have the roms and a ext rom unlocktool which works for that device.
will do thanks a lot.

[Q] Enable band 900 ??

Hi !
First of all thanks to all members for all these great informations !
So, my question is simple :
Can we enable the WCDMA 900 band ( 8 ) ??
Some other versions like the Verizon can, but does the TMO has the same properties to enable it ?
In the ServiceMode, as the 900 one is here that's why I think yes but how.....??
Thanks
NB : ( I double this question in the I337 section as I have both versions and maybe I won't get the same answers )

what ive heard (someone correct me if im wrong) is that verizons version is able to use both cdma and gsm technology, while most other s4 variants are either just gsm or just cdma. so it might just be that your version just doesnt have the hardware to use that band. But then again, this is something i read somewhere, but i havent bothered looking up the legitimacy of it

I think you are correct. It was the same for the S3. Verizon has "business" phones. So they can be used overseas if you need to travel for business or whatever.
