small help with o2 rom - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

hi all
I have flashed my Qtek 9000 with o2 rom and all works fine. but I have noticed one problem which is when I chose the basic defullt setting of the O2 the Bluetooth wont received and cant be descoverd even if the bluetooth is on and there is a tick on make the divce discoverable.
However, when i chose the Corporate setting of the O2 and the code 0506 the bluetooth works fine sending and receiving. Any thought of why is this problem happing ?
Thanks

I think there is a BLUETOOTH PATCH included in the Extended ROM. Maybe Corporate mode installs it, but Basic no.
Can you Install Basic mode and try to run the file from the extended ROM? It might look something like this:
Default_Signed_SSD_BTUR_Patch_For_BT_Cannot_Initial.sa.CAB
I'm not sure. Goodluck

thanks brother still facing the same problem

Is your Bluetooth Problem in regards to connecting to Hands Free Headsets? Or transfereing files, etc.?
What exactly can't you do with the Bluetooth in Basic that you can do in Bluetooth of Corporate?

thanks Jorgee
i managed to solve it by going back to the old o2 rom
it was file transfer problem

You have to have the BEAM option in CONNECTIONS enabled to be able to transfer OBEX Bluetooth

XDA2s Will not beam files by bluetooth!!!

I have had an XDA2 for sometime. I have just purchased a XDA2s but can not get it to beam a file, like on the xda2. I go to file explorer, hold down on the file I want to send and hit beam file. The page says searching but does not ever find any devices!!
I have upgraded the Radio ROM upgrade to version 1.12.00 and the Bluetooth upgrade to version 1.0.0.3900, but I still have the same problem. Is anyone else with an XDA2s able to beam files like with the xda2, or have any ideas why it is not working?
Thanks
hey same here too
hi
i too have the same problem and i dont even know on which windows m i Running my PDA ??
Can some one help me how to find which windows have been installed on my XDA IIs
if you have installed the 3900bluetooth stack, then you must forget about the beam option, when u tap and hold within file explorer, tap send by bluetooth instead of beam file, this will work as i had same problem, and i was told this by members here.
hope this helps.......
my way of beaming files via bluetooth is to open the bluetooth manager and select "new" then click on "browse files on a remote device". After that, bluetooth devices will be discovered by your BA. Once the devices are already listed, you could select to which device you want files to send to...
hope this helps...
cheers!
Guys, you're talking about two different things here. When you choose 'beam file' that means trying to send it to another device using the infrared port, not Bluetooth.
It says it can't find other devices because on your receiving device you've probably turned Bluetooth on, but not IR. And even if you had, you're supposed to align the IR ports and keep the two devices pretty close to each other. On your BlueAngel, the IR port is on the left side so you have to turn it.
You should either choose 'send via Bluetooth' if you want to send something via Bluetooth, or choose 'beam file' if you want to beam it via IR. Check if your receiving device has Bluetooth or IR capabilities and has these switched on; if you're using IR, point the device's IR ports to each other.
Your Windows version:
Start -> Settings -> System -> About.
Thanks
Thanks all of you
I just Cant belive that i couls see a reply posted so so soon
A million Thanks

bluetooth not in my menu
Hey jojo
i have not got send via bluetooth on my menu in the FE
also i dont know the bluetooth stack ???
how do i get that now
no bluetooth sending on SPV M2000/XDAiis...
Robrecht: they are not talking about two different things, to beam a file it "should" pick up all incoming beams including bluetooth, if you try beam a file a menu will come saying two things:
1) infrared - align ports
2) searching...
Now the "searching" means its looking for bluetooth devices, provided you have activated "recieve all incoming beams" in beam settings...
Unfortunately although i know how it all works, i also have the same problem with my SPV M2000, i also cant send via bluetooth,i had the XDAii and that worked totally fine, the only way to do it on the M2000 is through exploring another bluetooth device, but not all devices allow for that...its such an easy operation that has become so difficult, i mean if thats how they have programmed it, it sucks ass, even old crappy phones with bluetooth can send files easier...
i think it is a problem and if there is any solution can someone let us know...
regards...

go to bluetooth in the settings/connections. then in bluetooth, and tap 'about'
this will prob show 3500version, it needs to be 3900.

you dont need to unzip a cab file, a cab file is the same as a .exe file on your desktop pc,
just copy the cab file accress to a location on your pda, somewhere you know where it is.... lets say you copy over using active sync, into your documents..... when you go into file explorer on your pda, just tap the cab file and it will install ........ and hey presto..... your on bt build 3900
tradivise, upgrading to 3900, should sort your problem out.... sending files from devices to another handset by Ir is something that needs avioding, as i find that even if the pda can detect the device, it aint compatable and will always fail..... i even found this on my old XDA 2
instead on tapping on beam file on 3500 like with the xda2, upgrade to 3900 and you dont need the beam option.... just hold on file and tap send via bluetooth., anything is now sendable but if you want this to help with Ir within the beam option, this wont help as it is for bluetooth.....
happy installing if you choose to....... id recommend it tho!!
it does solve the problem!
joey jojo... thanks, yeh i installed it and it solves the problem, i now have the "send via bluetooth" option in the menu when holding down on a file i want to send, you can almost send anything....there is one thing thats seems a bit odd!!! - when using my bluetooth headset it sometimes crackles a bit even though im within a metre or two of the phone, i dunno, that doesnt seem normal...but i guess for the amount of times i use my headset compared to the amount of times i "wanted" to send files via bluetooth, i suppose i can live with the crackling...
thanks JJ
So i also recomend to anyone having the same problems as me upgrading to bt3900, i mean im not sure about the crackling, i read on another post somewhere that there are a few others with the same crackling problem, but as far as sending the via bluetooth, it solves the problem...
this is good news!
joey jojo, could I ask for one too?
cheers!
bt3900...
you can get bt3900 from this site - http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Bluetooth_1.0.0.3900_Upgrade
It gives you instructions and everything else...
happy installing...
thanks tradivise! one question though, would it be just fine if I wouldn't upgrade may radio rom and just install the bluetooth upgrade, would just do the trick the same?
cheers!
yeh it all workd fine for me and i didnt upgrade my radio...im running radio 1.06.02...
guys, thanks! just installed BT3900 and my BT works better now.
Hey man, thats cool, im glad you got it sorted out...
HAPPY BLUETOOTHING!!!!!!!!

I need a ROM cooking mentor ! Need Radio/BT A2DP

Hello,
would be happy to exchange french cooking, but ROM cooking is, if I understand, what I need to do, if I wish to upgrade my SPV M2000 (Orange France).
Could someone help me understand and manage my ROM cooking?
My cooking 'chef' !
Would like to get a clear view, understanding, method, issues of what/how cooking is.
My first goal is to enhance the BT capabilities of my SPV: BT is working just with the SIM phone, I would like to be able to have audio capabilities for any sound capable applications (mp3 player, IP phone, other).
I heard about A2DP profile, is that a software to add? a registry keys to activate? is that included in a BT latest version?
Could someone help me on that?
I use IP phone extensively, wirelessly, with global roaming, will appreciate to share my experience on using this almost WW free calling feature.
Call me !
Jennyfer
Paris - France.
to get a2dp you need to get the broadcom bluetooth stack and do some regitry changes
mind you if you do switch to that bluetooth stack you loose the ability to use a bluetooth headset for phone
IP phone require a much bigger bandwidth then gprs can give so to use programs like skype and such you need to be on wifi otherwise they will only send text
cooking is really a left over from the way that xda1's worked
with later models people just unlock the extented rom and place the cab files they want in there
Thank you, Rudegar, for your prompt answer.
So, you say that "cooking" is from past, and that now the method with extended rom is selecting/using cab files?
Where can I get the broadcom bluetooth stack ?
(have ftp client to xda ftp site)
Which registry changes I have to do ?
Why BT A2DP imply to have phone call with Bt impossible ?
Is there a strategy to have both ?
So many questions, but am really new at that !
Thank you!
Jennyfer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=25443&highlight=a2dp
i link to the 2 threads about a2dp in this thread where you can download and see the registry settings which need changed
and i have both "a2dp" and headset on my xda2 because i use the i-Phono headset which kinda cheat with the a2do part using a dongle
and yes today people place programs they want autoinstalled in the extented rom and there is no way to place programs in the real rom like people could on xda1
Rudegar, you said: "and i have both "a2dp" and headset on my xda2 because i use the i-Phono headset which kinda cheat with the a2do part using a dongle"
This mean there is a way to keep headset profile along with A2DP profile ?
So your i-Phono headset works with both SIMphone and other audio applications?
What is a2dp part / dongle?
thanks for yor help!
Jennyfer
Rudegar,
the first link pointed to an unavailable file.
I got the Broadcomm BT 1.6.... from second link.
So, I just have to install CabInst (better tool?) on my BA? and install this cab from the BA?
Does I have to tweak registry?
I never did this and would not like to mess it !
Jennyfer
I found this audio gateway registry settings from MSDN/Dev, does it apply to 2003SE ?
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...html/wce50conaudiogatewayregistrysettings.asp
It is like if BT is never totally activated (even on mobile 5.0), so perhaps these keys could wakeup some BT features?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=11729&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=50
the reg changes are described here
about cab files then personaly i just double click on them when i wanted them to install manualy
but otherwise you dont need to do anything with them apart from copying the cab files into the extented rom dir and adding their name in the config.txt in the same dir
cannot find it while file-exploring my BA.
Where is located the "extended rom dir" on the Pocket PC ?
being newbie, if I well understand, I have to use the extended rom unlock tool to access extended rom dir ?
and then edit config.txt in \windows.
I put my cab here.
And then?
- system update it automatically?
- or does I have to soft? hard? reboot?
be explicit, please! afraid to break my system.
yes you have to unlock and unhide your extented rom using the program
no you have to hardreset in order for it to install the cab files
I could have started reading the BA wiki first ! I did.
My best advice to newbies (as I am) is to start by wiki.
So, if I well understand, I can change my langage, and everything, choosing, whichever ROM, Radio & so on on my Orange France originated SPV, and install, by example, English ROM 1.4, latest radio & BT ?
Has anyone got Widcom to work with A2DP and Headset profile?
I can get my Sonorix BT stereo headset connected to both profiles, however the headset one only partially works. Call answer doesnt work - although cancel call does. Wierd. Mp3's stream fine in WMP10 though via A2DP.

[Pug's Alpine 1.11.162] No Bluetooth SPP ?

Hello all,
I've recently installed Pug's modified ROM for Alpine (EXT 1.11.162, Camera fixed, O2 stuff stripped, Radio 1.04).
I was very happy with it happy until today, when I wanted to re-install TomTom and of course pair the BT GPS. Alas, the BlueTooth stack (Broadcom 1.0.0.3900) does not allow one to create a Serial Port Profile connection with a BT device.
Before that, I'd used the original O2 ROM and a Qtek 2020i ROM, both had SPP. I even think the Qtek ROM had a MS stack but I'm not sure.
Question is : is it possible to add *just* the SPP profile ?
I'm "downgrading" to O2's original 1.11.169 ROM - 1.00 Radio in the meantime. Apart from that, how to solve this ?
I've tried using the 1.6.0600 CAB (under /BlueAngel/CABS in the FTP) but I must have done it wrong, for it totally screwed up my device and I had to hard reset. Too bad there aren't any BT upgrade instructions with it
How about going for a Microsoft BT stack ? Is that even possible ?
Pug, don't take me wrong : you've done an excellent job, and I'm sure this isn't your fault
Cheers !
Mr_Smoke
SPP service not detected with BT GPS
Right, I'm narrowing it down.
I've just installed a Qtek 1.11.02FRE/Radio1.02.00 => it works.
I wrongly assumed that the SPP profile should appear when one wishes to create a new BT connection. In fact, what I did with the FRE ROM is : explore BT device, and when it finds my BT GPS, it checks the services it supports, and finds SPP alright.
The cooked .162 ROM didn't do that, and I have no clue why.
I'll try another couple of ROMs and see what comes out of it. My poor XDA IIi has had about 10 ROM uploads today
Will keep you posted...
False alarm
Guess what ... It works with pug's ROM.
No idea what didn't work out the first time.
Sorry for the noise
Cheers !

Help! SIM Access Profile on WM6 not working!!

Hi, I have:
- TYTN with WM6 (latest version from Schap)
- VW Touareg with Premium Bluetooth kit (2007 touch-screen model)
The phone is recognised (the name), it seems to pair ok (had to put in a 16-digit PIN), but then the car kit cannot connect to the phone for some reason.
I'm not sure why, but what I do know is that SAP has worked with a Nokia phone (dealer tested it with me). There, it downloaded its address book. It doesn't do that with my TYTN. I have double-checked all my settings on my phone, it has SAP and bluetooth enabled
So, has anybody managed to see their SAP in action on the WM6 enabled TYTN, and if so did it work "straight out of the box" or did you do something magical that you're willing to share!!!
If it's not working I'll just buy a £40 unlocked Nokia with SAP support and use that, but preferably I'd like to use my own phone.
Thanks for your help!
- Install the BT SAP cab you find here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319468
- Enable Remote Sim Access
- Softreset
and it should be working. (does only synchronise the contacts on your SIM though, not the contacts in your phonememory)
Working here perfectly with VW Passat '07 with Premium Bluetooth Handsfree (ROM: Hypercore Lite SE). If you have any questions you can pm me.

Thanks WDawn,
Well it's promising you got it to work!! (yay!)
But I had spotted your post on the forum, downloaded the file, but the phone refuses to install it. I tried it on the older Schaps version, and I've even updated to the latest Schaps version. Both fail.
This is what happens: when I install in the Main Memory it says I do not have the required permissions, and when I install in the Extended Memory it says that it cannot install. When I tried installing it on the MiniSD card it produces the same as the memory message. I copy and pasted the file from my computer onto my phone, and tried installing it from the MiniSD card. I did not try to install it from the phone's memory itself I am just thinking.
Any idea???
Thanks!! (also thanks for confirming it's only SIM address book, forgot about that one )
To solve the issue of the permissions your should try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340716&highlight=application+unlock
If it's not working, reflash with Hypercore Lite SE. It's the best ROM out there.
Get it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=339529
You won't regret the (expensive) Premium Bluetooth Handsfree from VW. Never had such a good handsfree kit. Perfect sound quality!

I've heard the handsfree kit yes and it's fantastic, I agree!
Unfortunately, the file still refuses to install . Everything else works. I can install other things without a problem. I've unlocked the phone, checked registry settings (the policies one) and ran various unlockers. That seemed to do something (different security message, or sometimes none) but this particular cab file simply refuses to install.
So I'm afraid and you're right, I'll have to change to the Hypercore ROM... Shame because I liked the way Schap's ROM looks but I will try this because if it's just for looks I might be able to survive with another template
If in the meantime you or anyone else has any brilliant ideas let me know. Otherwise I'll revert this weekend - to let you know whether it succeeded or not (useful for others too on the forum perhaps!).

OK, I've reflashed my phone with Hypercore Lite SE and installed the BT_Test.cab file (which installed successfully) but it's still not working!!
Mind you, my girlfriend and I have the same phone (so 2x TYTN); I flashed hers twice (two diff ROMs), and I flashed mine twice. They are both "found" by both ROMs by the car kit, but once you've inserted that 16-digit security code the carkit gives it is paired but the carkit says it cannot establish a connection.
With both phones!!!!
I know the kit works as it paired with a simple Nokia effortlessly. That's probably because Nokia supplies the technology to VW.
So, unless someone has got a really smart idea, it looks like I'll have to buy a cheap unlocked Nokia 6230 from ebay...
I just find it really annoying you managed to get it to work (good for you ) but that the result is different for me! that's bizarre.
Anyone!??!?!?
Have you tested it with an official release of WM6 from HTC just to see if an unmodified version will work?

It's a good point - not yet!
Where can I download this from other than from HTC directly?? I have a T-Mobile Vario II and this does not come with an HTC membership (I've already tried via HTC's website)... Bit stupid really as it's the same device but there you go. T-mobile has no update unfortunately.
Cheers
Ah, I found a working link via the main page...
I'll post back to confirm the result - thanks!
Hope it works for you. If it does then you know it's probably some settings someplace that need tweaking or it could be a prog thats in the cooked ROM that just does not agree with your system configuration.
It didn't work.
After all that hassle of downgrading rom, SuperCIDing etc...
It doesn't work with the original HTC WM6 ROM arghhhhhhhhhhh
Always accepts the 16-digit code but then the "handshaking" stops; it pairs but the carkit "cannot establish a connection". As if it's incompatible, but then some other people managed to get it to work.
It's unbelievable.
Really bizarre
I'm [this] close to buying a Nokia 6230. Grrr.
You can alway put it back to WM5 if it's that important but I know you don't really want to do that. It was a good try though.

help required for bluetooth

I might sound a bit noob here. Well I upgraded my Imate JasJam to Windows Mobile 6.1 using the ROM of Herme 100, everything is fine so far but I cannot figure out about the bluetooth settings as I am unable to receive any file from bluetooth.
I have enabled in beam to receive all incoming beam as well but whenever I try to send a file from another device on my phone, I do not receive any notification on the phone about incoming file or anything. I have also added the phone in paired devices in bluetooth settings but everything is in vain.
Please tell me what to do
I had the same issues with many roms. I could always connect to my in car hands free and a bluetooth earpiece but could never use bluetooth for anything else.
I always thought my bluetooth had a hardware issue until I just recently used CRC 13.3 rom, I can now use bluetooth beaming and the like. Works like a treat.
I really wished I could have got Binky11's rom to work with my bluetooth as that had bluetooth printing and more..
Sorry I can't help more.
cheers,
isnt there any cab file for bluetooth? Or will I have to find some ROM instead? Or can you provide me with the ROM you are using plz?
