Incredible! rom 1.40 extended rom - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

I can't believe!
I downgraded from wm5 to wm2003, but, when I put in \Storage my cooked extended rom, on hard reset the PDA2k load the DEFAULT ship ext rom!!!
Via Activesync, in \Storage, I see my cooked ext rom files.
I try also to kill Activesync processes from task manager, put pda in bootloader mode and reflash the rom 1.40 with original ext rom, but the process first flash ext rom (stage 2) and the the CE Rom (stage 1)...
what can I do ?!

can anynone help me ?!

The PPC loads the ExtROM from:
\Extended Rom\
You should unhide it, unlock it, and put your files there, NOT in \Storage.

How to delet the Extended ROM from Jasjar?

I have XDA EXEC, and flash it to JASJAR_WWE_11353_137_10301.
Then I found that the Extended ROM of Jasjar is so big and has a lot of rubbish like Optus_Settings.CAB,Vodacom_SA_WAP1.2.CAB, Vodafone_NZ.CAB, etc.
I have used Total Commander to delet them, but when I soft rest, everything still at there.
Can someone tell me how to delet the Extended ROM?
Many thanks~!!!
Just hard reset, then soft reset before the device installs the extended ROM.
If you do this you will have your device without the extended ROM.
Regards,
Thank you very much!!!
I have done it!!!
It works fine!!!!!
I understand some of the cabs on the Extended ROM are necessary for the JASJAR work properly as they patches . Could somebody list them?
I think they are
Default_CAB-Shortcut-CDL-04Aug05.CAB
Default_Enable_VT_RTPlugin_0727_2_signed.CAB
Default_Imate_PPC_SA_V5.5.03.cab
Default_pIE_View.sa.CAB
Default_Signed_SSD_BTUR_Patch_For_BT_Cannot_Initial.sa.CAB
Default_Signed_SSD_Shortcut_WWE.sa.CAB
Default_Signed_UNI_CDL_UAProf.sa.CAB
Default_Signed_Version.sa.CAB
Enjoy it~
You can install the CAB files which you feel it's necessary for the Jasjar on the storage card instead of the main memory.
It will work fine and will save a sufficiant space on the main storage as well.

I believe that the above CAB files differ according to the ROM version and to the language used.
Since I'm using the Arabic ROM build my extended ROM is different.
So, I would suggest that you should let them install first after the hard reset and note them on a peace of paper while seeing them installing one by one and then you make a hard reset again, then soft reset before the extended rom is installed and then determine which to install and which not to install, and then you can install the CAB files which you need to the storage card instead of the main memory.

Cab Files
How can you install cabs to sd memory card ? By copy pasting onto the card and then double tapping the icons? Is it as simple as that?

Just copy the CAP file and past it to the SD card, then tap it from there and the installation will process.
Then, the installation will ask you whether to install the CAB file into the main memory or to the memory card.... just chose the memory card and then tap install.... it will be installed to the memory card instead of the main memory.

I just installed them on the main memory as they seem to be mainly patches... from the SD will be much slower, or not?

I've QTEK9090.nb1 ROM full backup, and wnat to restore from SD and allways say "Not Allow". Even changing the first 416 bytes.
How can I extract the 3 images inside nb1 file, Radio, CE Rom and extended ROM?
Is there a tool to do so?

Restore O2 EXTRom

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else, but...
Before I flashed the new AWESOME PDAVIET ROM FOR HTC ARTEMIS ( Black&Blue), I thought I was being a smarty pants and made a backup via aWizard of the EXTRom (and all others of course).
Now, how do I restore that O2 EXTRom back on there? aWizard doesn't seem to have that option on there?
Thsanks in advance for not flaming a noob.
I tried to use OliPro's patcher (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297085&highlight=extrompatcher)
When I removed the Storage Card another Storage Card folder appeared (coz I selected to store my attachments on the storage card. I assumed this was the EXTRom, which it wasn't.
I also tried using the Registry (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_Unhide_Extrom)
All I reall need is Windows\O2_Operator_Settings.exe from my backup, how do I extract files from my earlier backup nba file?
If its just the o2 settings you need have a look at this topic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=313958
Thanks. I was going about it all wrong. I just checked O2's website and found the settings I needed.
I still want to fix up the EXTRom and extract those two files from my original backup. I will wait for B&B v3, hopefully with a vanilla version and instructions on customising the EXTRom the way I want it.

Help with Axim Upgrade to WM6

A couple of questions about upgrading to WM6 on my Axim. I am currently running 2003ce on my Axim, Vista on my computer.
Is the upgrade to WM5 done by the flash method on a SD card as described for WM6?
Can my current programs be restored from a backup or must they be reinstalled?
I'm rather a newbie at this, so thanks for the help so I don't turn my PDA into a brick.
You put the Rom onto a SD Card then go into the bootloader and install it. I dont think you can backup your programs unless you save the .cab's to another SD card or a CF card. Bricking doesnt mean that your Axim will never work again you just have to flash it back using the official rom. Only if the bootloader is tampered with will not work what so ever which shouldnt happen with most roms plus i made the silly mistake of trying to install WM6 on my X51 mid and it bricked but its working fine now after flashing back with the orginal rom.
The contents of the WM5 archive is very different from the WM6 archive. I'm guessing WM5 is applied differently than WM6. There are 3 exe files in the archive. Aximupdate.exe, Fullscreen.exe, and Enterbootloader.exe as well as other dll''s and img files.
If it applied through activesync, I may have a problem with vista. Vista would hang when I tried to update the 2003se Rom. I had to use my laptop which is running XP.
Any help with this is appreciated. I searched for this topic, but have not found anything.
Can someone tell me can i upgrade my axim x30 wit wm6?
Now i have wm 2003
Links download A12 (WM5) for X51 ?
Can anyone tell me how to use the WM5 archive to upgrade from 2003?
Thanks
Edit: I see that I dl'd a different image file than the one in this thread. The one in this thread contains the flash files for WM5. I think the only thing is I have to rename the bootloader files, from reading other messages in this thread.

How to increase user-accessible ROM?

For Himalaya, it has only a pitiful of 14mb out of 64 ROM. How can it be increased?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332215
You should know that doing the following steps will need a hard reset of your Himalaya and erase all your data in your RAM. Backup or transfer your important files into a SD card instead. And also, you need to have WM5 or WM6 to remove your ExtROM/increase user-accessible ROM.
Download the followings first:
ExtROM_Unlocker.cab (30.8kb) http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=51937&d=1190717566
Hima_DOC_Tool_1.0.zip (3.1kb) http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=51938&d=1190717579
Transfer these 2 files from your PC into a SD card, so that you can:
Put ExtROM_Unlocker.cab in your "Storage" folder or known as My Device/Storage/ExtROM_Unlocker.cab
Put Hima_DOC_Tool_1.0.exe(unzip it first) in your my documents folder or known as My Device/My Documents/Hima_DOC_Tool_1.0.zip
Run ExtROM_Unlocker.cab. Go to Start/Programme Files, you will find EXTROM. Inside the folder, you'll find 4 files.
- ExtROM unhide
- ExtROM hide
- ExtROM unlock
- ExtROM lock
First: press ExtROM unlock, then soft-reset.
Second: press ExtROM unhide, then soft-reset.
Third: Go to my documents to click Hima_DOC_Tool_1.0.zip. Run it, and hard-reset.
Voila
self-answering? actually i didn't want to, but after learning it for some minutes, I know how to do it lastly.
