Same here - IIWPO doesn't work
Same here - IIWPO doesn't work (on my jasjar I mean). However, I was unable to re-lock the Extended ROM - can this be the reason? Does it need to be locked?
Universal and IIwpo
I have succeeded in getting iiwpo to run on the Qtek 9000 with the new o2 rom update. First I tried it by just installing it in the my documents folder and it works. I then tried to put it in rom with no success. After a hard reset it simply would not install. The reason is because it is unsigned and never loads. The solution is simple. First of course you have to unlock and unhide the extended rom, and then follow the instructions for installing the iiwpo cab file you have created. After that, you need to install the program available in this forum to bypass the security check (default_disablesecurity.cab). Put this in the extended rom as well. Then modify the config.txt file. Mine looks as follows:
LOCK:Enabled
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_SSD_BTUR_Patch_For_BT_Cannot_Initial.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_SSD_Shortcut_WWE.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_UNI_o2UK_PortalKey.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_UNI_o2UK_UAProf.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_UNI_o2UK_VoiceMail.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_UNI_o2UK_Customize.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_UNI_Remove_BatteryIcon.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_UNI_PictureEnhancement_reg.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_UNI_Disable_ErrorDump-Obex.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_Version.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\CAB-Customization-O2UK-Universal.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_MoveO2Tone.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\CAB-Shortcut-O2UK-22Aug05.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Enable_VT_RTPlugin_0727_2_signed.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\VT_DisableOK_O2_0830_signed.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\signed_UNI_o2AUI4_build88.cab
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Default_Signed_DisableSecurity.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MS5.CAB
I named the iiwpo file ms5.cab instead of iiwpo.cab for a little extra security, since you can see iiwpo loading after a hard reset. It now works as advertised. You should of course do a hard reset to relock and rehide the extended rom. I used the beta of sprite backup to back up my qtek, and so after the hard reset and a re-install of sprite it is easy to restore your unit. The original instructions did not take into account the security check in wm5, as the program was not written initially for our universals.
Back to the drawing board, but I don't think it is a serious problem. I found out that a hard restore writes the programs iiwpo_startup.exe to the windows folder and to the startup folder as it should, but the registry values are never written into the registry. I had been playing around so much with this iiwpo that I forgot that I had restored a registry and thus had the values already in it. A hard restore does not touch the registry as it should. I believe there is a simple solution to this but my knowledge of how the values get written to the registry is not sufficient to immediately solve the problem. Hopefully one of the gurus will read this thread and help out. The values are entered into the registry if you run the iiwpo.cab file from a location other than the extended rom. Perhaps the location in the config.txt file is important. I will continue to work on this and post any further progress.
Solved. Put the items in the config.txt folder
LOCK:Enabled

It seems that the security defeat has to go at the top. Perhaps there is some timing delay problem. It now works, and you can put your own phone number in for testing. It will send you an sms.
I still don;t seem to be able to get my xda exec to get the IIWPO program to work. I have followed the instructions found here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=IIWPO
I have customised the file
I have unlocked my extended rom (though I appear to have directories extended rom and extended rom2
I have adjusted my config.txt file (in both extended rom directories to be sure)
I have installed and activated IIWPO
I have added the disable security cab file, and installed that.
I still don't have any joy with the IIWPO application, and I don't know how to lock the extended rom. I have only being performing soft resets to test the IIWPO out, but using the hole and PHM Tools reset
As always, your help is greatly appreciated
Hello there people
I've been searching for hours on end with no joy so far.
I'm trying to install IIWPO in my unlocked extended rom. I have an XDA Exec that's been flashed with the Imate JasJar 1.30.76
I've taken the steps as per the wiki exactly, that is: got the anonymous file, opened it using the recommended WinCE CAB Manager, changed the platformxxx.reg file to contain my details, stuck it back in the cab.
I then try to just launch the cab file on my universal and it fails. First it asks me where I want to install it, I leave it in the deafult directory, it attempts to install then it says:
"eDsuBsofT IIWPO by XDA-Developers" cannot be installed.
To try installing again to a different location, choose a location:"
It offers me a chance to set another directory and at this stage it fails immediately.
The only difference between the original anonymous template cab, and my cab is the platformxxx.reg file, which I've followed as per the wiki! (I've tried with and without checking the hard-coded box for the \Windows directory entry for that file.
so I've come for help... I've really tried every thing under the sun now. many thanks in advance for any attention!
I can't find config.exe anyyyywhere on my pocket pc not even extended rom. Where is it located by default??
Does Default_Signed_DisableSecurity.CAB disable the security for file install permanently on?
This will make the device dangerous to virus install.
How to enable it back after IIWPO install?
"eDsuBsofT IIWPO by XDA-Developers" cannot be installed.

i've had the exact same problem which i sat hours to figure out.
my problem was the winCe cab manager, i had a damaged version, and without knowing it created damaged installations.
get the newest version from their site (google it if you can't find it), reinstall and try again.
(don't apply any cracks on the app, tho. that may also be the reason)

Works for me, but guys do you run total commander once reboot ? Coz only this soft so far help to access the Ex Rom
Seems to me that after a number of soft resets it no longer works. So if it is working now it may not continue to.
I want to rename Extended_Rom to Extended_Rom2 since I'm restoring everything except the registry from a Sprite Backup
(Worked well btw). Anyone got a clue how to do that
Cheers
Well... did someone figured out why are we having several experiences to unlock Extended ROM?
For me it doesn't work at all!
Neither:
- Buzz .exe http://buzzdev.net/component/option.../id,205/chk,99f2bb3ad970c21a6b337a374c7a7b1c/
- Asukal .cab http://buzzdev.net/components/com_simpleboard/uploaded/files/Uni_ExtRom_unlocker.cab
Total Commander also doesn't show the Extended ROM
Can anyone who succeded with it, detail the steps done?
The name is set in,
HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1
With the key Folder = Extended_ROM so change Extended_ROM to Extended_Rom2
Thanks dah54,
done that, but the name does not change, not even from Total Commander when using the new JasJar rom

Something seems to be getting corrupted in the registry. Perhaps by a common cab we are using? I had it appear, and I copied the cabs out of it, then after a number of resets it disappeared. I checked the registry values and they where correct!
So I then did a hard reset, and a soft reset to stop the Auto install of the cabs in the Extended ROM. I changed the following to these values in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"Bootphase"=dword:00000002
and in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"MountHidden"=dword:00000000
and
"Folder"="ExtROM"
and after a soft reset it reappeared, NOTE I DID NOT RUN THE TOOL again, just changed the values in the registry key. I believe this should not work, but it does.
So do you mean that some CAB in original Ext ROM, may be preventing the Unlock tool!?
Did you skiped all CABs in Ext ROM (by doing a softreset)? Or just after a specific CAB?
For me never saw Ext ROM, unlocked and visible with this i-mate ROM.
take out the _ its cos theres already a folder you cant see called Extended_Rom, i renamed mine to EXTRom and it shows as that in resco explorer, with no Extended_Rom folder Listed using buzz's method.
run the prog,
reboot,
edit the registry with EXTRom change,
accessed in resco no probs,
removed all junk,
now im set!!!

Interesting....
Mine disappeared with the new rom also, and the registry values where correct, and no amount of soft resets or running the tool would make it reappear. So after a hard reset it reappeared with just the registry change. I have changed the Folder to ExtROM on mine and that is what FE (File Explorer) is showing, and it is back again for now.
what are the exact registry values you have now? do you have a TrueFS TRUEFS_DOC1 TRUEFS_DOC2 in autoload and a TRUEFS_DOC TRUEFS_DOC1 TRUEFS_DOC2 in Profiles?

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to install a few of CAB's from the Orange Ext ROM on to my O2 Exec.
They all say they installed OK, but theres no sign of one of them, [a Signed CAB] even after a soft reset.
Do I need to do something else, to install Signed CAB's on other vendors ROM's ?
What do you mean with "theres no sign of them"?
No sign in the software removal section ? Thats normal because the cabs from extrom normally do not appear here.
If the desired effect from the cab is there yu got it working
Hi Ivan,
I've only got trouble with one of the CAB files, a signed one.
The file i'm trying to install is the 'Orange Today' plugin. It says it installs OK, but doesn't show up on the today screen or listed in its options.
The other CAB's which are not signed are Phone and MMS settings which install and work fine.
Is there something special I need to do to install an Orange signed CAB on an O2 Exec ?
Yes there is.
Unfortunately in the Orange rom are all files needed for the Orange style today screen.
In the cab file are only the reg settings to enable it.
Bad luck. Only chance to use it, is to extract the needed files and additional reg settings (there aren't all needed reg settings in the cab file) from the orange rom.
If you do this you will slowdown your device, because this thing is painfully slow.
OK, its seems i'm looking for the impossible again.
I'll give it a try the other way round.
Using the Orange ROM and adding the O2 settings and apps I need for work. Hopefully it won't be too slow when in work mode and the Orange plugin is turned off.
Thank you for your help Ivan.
I'm just getting into ROM cooking, so I'm still a noob at this (can't quite get packages working yet), but I figured the extended ROM would be a relatively easy place to put some stuff I need every flash\HR, as it seems you just mount the ExtRom, clear it out, and add the files you want, then dump it using the same instructions off the wiki for dumping an OS.
So I have my ExtRom mounted, using the HERMES_MountExtROM_v2 cab, the security is definitely disabled according to M$'s Security Configuration Manager, and I've loaded the Development Certificates, but I still can't delete anything. It gives me a read-only\write protected\in use error.
So I'm obviously in over my head here, but you gotta start somewhere. I'm using Black Magic with the hope of cooking my own ROM based off the official ATT release using Pandora and Core Pro.
Here's the config file i want to put into the ExtRom (obviously with associated .cab's and the AutoRun file)
LOCK:Enabled
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Cingular_8525_keyboard_patch.cab
CAB: \Extended_ROM\CommButton-Toggle-Vibrate-Fix.cab
CAB: \Extended_ROM\HERMES_MountExtROM_v2.cab
CAB: \Extended_ROM\A2DPFix.cab
LOCKisabled
RST: Reset
(feel free to tell me I'm being an idiot, as long as ya tell me why I'm an idiot
Try using a tweaker like HTweakC. You can find it here or at fit4cat.com. You will want to mount unlock the ExtROM - it works for me - should work for you.
Also, try disabling the lock BEFORE you install the cabs. It won't hurt anything - just locks out keyboard input AFAIK.
still no luck
tried the tweaker, at first it said it wasn't unlocked so I unlocked it but i still can't delete anything, also tried the newer HERMES_MountALLExtROM.cab.
i thought it might be because i had the ATT ExtRom so i extracted the one from Schap's 3.30c, flashed it and tried everything again, but still to no avail.
i'm gonna hard reset and try everything again, but is there something i'm missing?
GOT IT!
after a hard reset i installed the dev certs, ran olipro's patcher (which i don't think did anything), then ran the cab, and now i can delete everything. awesome!
so before i continue, is this what you meant with the config file? or should i just use my original?
LOCKisabled
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Cingular_8525_keyboard_patch.cab

Mike,
On WM6 ROMS the various tweakers cannot, alone, unlock the extended ROM. With an WM5 OS it is possible to use the many tweakers alone and they simply change the registry. The tweakers will indicate both unhidden (visible) abd mounted (writeable) but in fact the extended ROM can only be seen (read only) on any WM6 ROM.
So to get around this problem you will, on WM6, have to either use pofs SuperCID and SIM unlocker (here) first or run olipros patcher being referred to above (here). BEWARE! If you run pofs Super CID sotfware you will remove Hard SPL (and so risk, during this change, bricking your device) - so do not forget afterwards to re-install HardSPL. This Super CID change will also allow you to use any providers SIM card in your phone so it will be 'unlocked'.
Personally I used pofs solution but the downside of that is that you have changed your device so that any original supplier might not allow a warranty claim. But of course many of us have already accepted that by using HardSPL and other changes to the device installed ROM software.

Problem may be cause of your SD card if u r using WM6. SD card PowerManagment value is set("DisablePowerManagment") to 0 in your registry. This means after a while your device will set your SD card power off for savg batttery. This cause to unread your program files etc while u start any program on your form your SD card device.
I fixed this problem like that;
By any registry editor:
Find the Path:
"Hkey_local_machine>drivers>sdcard>clientdrivers> class >SDMemory_Class"
after that find;
""DisablePowerManagement"" key and set its value to "1" than save and exit. Than soft reset your device. Problem will be fixed.
Sorry for my bad english.
Windows Mobile powered devices are shipped with default security settings.
The security model enables Mobile Operators to make post-production changes to security settings.
This can place significant restrictions on software which has not been signed and approved.
However you can change the default settings.
Take control of applications on your phone.

Hi All,
Would someone be so kind to me a explain how I can move a package from the EXT directory or one Kitchen to the EXT directory on this version of kitchen.
I thought I could just simply copy the directory? So I had a go compiling a version of youtube from a different kitchen It would seem mot to work thou as I get the dreaded The file 'xx' cannot be opened. Ether it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring the file.
Any ideas how to get this to work?
Or look for the tool MsSigner, it can be found in most kitchens.
You'll be able to sign it with a signature that is accepted after you aply the enablyRapi and SPCCerts policies.
You're probably missing a key dependency package like dshow (mshow?) or concurrence manager. Also, make sure the shortcut path is valid. Lord knows why, but that's the message you get for bad shortcuts.

Use kheb to grab all the registry keys that are installed during the cab install/reset process. Then put them in your package. Or just search for the keys. We're talking the HKCR\clsid keys, aren't we? They're usually easy enough to find, if you dump and search your registry.

Thanks for your idea.
I did already and got all clsid and inject them in the package but still the same.
It seems emulator is behaving differently than actual device, what you think?
InCities.cdb
After ROM Booting, i re-install the Original Application, it works.
This is normal because the original application is doing something with InCities.cdb file.
I knew that my registry entries is correct because:
1- I checked everything in registry before and after my modification.
2- I checked everything before and after Original Program Change.
changes are identical
BUT
BUT
WHEN I PLAYED WITH (CHANGED) THE REGISTRY ENTRIES:
FROM
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apps\Shared]
"\\Windows\\InCities.cdb"=dword:00000001
TO
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apps\Shared]
"\\Windows\\InCities111111111.cdb"=dword:00000001
then copied another file as the same name
then tried to change it back to original, THE APPLICATION FAILED.......................................
So, Here is the trick but i don't know how to fix.
