Help on my xda. damaged bootloader (i think) - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi,
I tried upgrading from 1.66 to 1.72, then while upgrading, an error occured and asking me to try a soft reset. after this, my phone won't boot anymore. I think my bootloader is broken.
Is there a way to restore this manually? do you have an image that i can use?
I already tried a hard reset and it didn't work.

I've read something about the a newer radio rom that doesn't work and that i've got to flash the old 10600 again, only prob is I ain't got the 10600 radio rom.
So can someone help me, or give an alternative for this problem.
Thanks

PirateRum Bricked my desire

Can anyone help.
I applied the PirateRum Rom from the list on the rom manager app. After installation it is stuck on the setup wizard. Everytime I try to sign in to my gmail or set up new account it says Wizard has crashed and forces close so i cant get into the phone. I have tried a factory reset and the problem persists. I have also tried to reflash several roms in recovery mode without sucess. I have got as far as receiving the same error message each time "E:signature verification failed". I have tried naming the file update and update.zip to no avail. Does anyone know how i can either:
1. Get passed the setup wizard on PirateRum Rom, or
2. Sucessfully flash a rom in recovery mode
Any assistance would be much appreciated
You havent bricked your desire, as you are still able to load a ROM, broken or not.
The term bricked means its now as dead as a brick. I.E wont even load the bootloader or any ROM.
If you are getting sig verification issues, then it sounds like you need a GoldCard, even if your desire is unlocked and unbranded.
At any point, you can always go back to your original RUU rom from HTC, though it will un-root your desire.
pirate rum
fixed thanks

Stuck in Bootloader Problem.

A fishy problem.
I'm stuck in bootloader when I restart the phone.
If I rest the phone for a couple of hours i starts as it should, but if i restart it will come into the bootloader and is stuk there.
I can restart as many times as I would like but still stuck. I cannot Hard reset since restarting means I'm in bootloader.
I have managed to connect it to USB port. Performing Task29 with MTTY.
I have reflashed simplicity:s ROM after task 29 with no luck. Still stuck in Bootloader when restarting. then I have to wait for 2 hour with battery disconnected and the phone can start.
anyone who knows how to fix this problem?
thanks
/Ulf
Try flashin a different rom.. go into the bootloader do a task 29, hold volume down after it finishes, but b4 it boots up to get into bootloader again them flash a rom..

Hi
Go www.htc.com, select your country (IMPORTANT STEP!!!), find downloads (should be somewhere at support), download official ROM (it require P/N code, you can find it under battery, important for check ROM compatibility), flash. Should work.
Hi guys thanks for input. I tried both of your solution, but it failed. I now have the official ROM (but not official Hard SPL) And I still have the same issue.
Anything else I can try with?
Look for locking up precedure and go to the vendor if the phone ha warranty.

Galaxy Neuxs Encryption woes!!!

Hey All,
New to XDA but been using this site years so my level of Android knowledge is not bad.
I am currently having a huge problem with my Nexus. I used Google Apps encryption on it recently and that seems to have bricked my phone. I am unable to reset to factory settings to wipe the encryption as recommended by Google and I am stuck now with a bricked Nexus.
I also tried flashing stock roms with Odin which appears to work but the encryption still remains. All I am trying to do is put the stock back on my phone and re-root but I am having no joy. When using CWM to flash a new rom the system does not mount in recovery mode so I can't load any other roms. I have also tried the fastboot method but it stalls on waiting for device all the time.
If anyone has seen this and can help or if anyone just knows how to fix it please help me! I am stuck now with a useless Nexus. I should have just left it alone but as usual I couldn't.
Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you.
By some chance is your phone both rooted with CWM?
Hey, yeah it was so when I did a factory reset it could'nt use the stock bootloader so it didn't know how to wipe it. Unfortunetly once you apply encryption from a Google Apps the only way to remove is to factory reset.
I got around it by fastbooting the stock bootloader, radio and image from Google. Then I completed a manual reset using the original bootloader.
A world of hurt really! I have learned a lot but never going near Google Apps encryption again. It also slowed down the phone too.
Anyhow all sorted now, re rooted and running revolution rom now.
theres another thread with a guy who had the same problem. I wonder if vzw nexus has an issue with encrypting...
If the phone wasn't rooted I would have had no issues. It is simply a problem when it comes to loading roms. In CWM the recovery cant mount the data/system so you can't flash anything. Also doing a factory reset from settings doesnt work because the phone is looking for a stock bootloader which it doesn't have once you root. So I ended up in a loop and could do nothing. Fortunetly I learned all about adb and fastboot this morning, never heard of them before and that allowed me to reload stock and unroot. I still had to wipe the phone using the bootloader as I couldn't get into the phone or past the encryption.
If anyone is having issues with this I will gladly help as I really thought that my phone was bricked and was very frustrated. The only way I got help was from a guy on this tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392037&page=3

Emergency help: Possible brick?

Alright,
So I had several issues caused by the latest INC 2 OTA. After the OTA messed up my phone I followed several threads online to downgrade to 2.3.3. After I did this, I updated back to 2.3.4 and then did the new OTA. It worked.
When I did this, "recovery" disappeared in the bootloader.
I eventually unlocked my phone again and was able to flash a custom recovery.img to get clockwork mod recovery back on. Everything was going smoothly!
I then entered recovery and accidentally restored a previous backup (version 5.xxxxx which would power off due to the OTA messing it up). So I immediately did a factory reset.
After this, the Radio is 1.09.01.0312. Every time I boot up it gets stuck on the white HTC screen. I've tried clearing cache, formatting system and then doing a factory reset. It still is the same.
To my knowledge this current radio is the radio for the new OTA (6.xxxxxx). My phone thinks it's software is still 5.xxxxxx due to the accidental restore.
I guess the radio I need ends in .1111. Would not having this radio cause this issue? I downloaded the radio but it says I have to be S-OFF to install it.
I am currently unlocked and S-ON.
Am I screwed or is there anything I can do to fix this?
I can only Fastboot and use CMD prompts. I don't even care if it's a custom rom at this point. Anything I can do to restore the phone.
Please and thank you.
EDIT: Also, PG32IMG files will not work. If I go to manually install it says E: Can't open sdcard/PG32IMG.zip (BAD)
Nor will it go through when I boot it up in the bootloader. I tried this for the version 5.xxxxxx. Do I need to wait for a 6.xxxxxx officiall RUU PG32IMG to come out? I haven't seen one yet.
Only one thread needed
