Remove start

Is it possible to remove the text START next to the start button?
I would only like to have a start button with the word (start) next to it.
Takes space in the bar
Wisbar Lite does remove the text Start next to the button, but I'd like to know how to remove the text in registry. Is there a key for this?
or just have the "window" icon, no need for the word "start"
I am trying to do the same thing. I tried to search the wiki first and didn't find an answer. I don't want to have to install wisbar just to ditch the "start" text.
anyone have an update?
i will look into it later, my guess is that it in the shellres.96.dll file
EDIT: I just looked and its not there i also tried shellres.dll and its not there either. sooo i don't know
Any update for this thread?
Still looking for a way to remove the word START from the top menu bar.

Keyboard Editing

Hello,
I dont suppose there is some registry edit that I can do to make the little Internet Explorer key (on the pull-down keyboard) a "control" key instead? Man that would simply rule.
Read WIKI, there was the registry key you seek

OMIZ keyboard settings/help

I have posted this down in Magician threads so for those who read those sorry for the double up
I recently brought/installed a OMIZ bluetooth keyboard, all works but it appears the blue function buttons are a little confused. If I press the "calender" shortcut it opens "contacts" and so on
Anyone got any tips or instructions on how to reprogram them (if that can even be done) I've had a bit of a look at the OMIZ website but no go in the faqs etc.
Cheers all for any thoughts

How to estore screen rotation icon?

how can i restore the icon to the lower today screen taskbar...
i cant find the settings in the registry
is this to rotate the screen?
download and install this: http://tun0.de/uploads/pt_screenrotate_2.13_pro_20501101_112.cab
just installed?
but done nothing , where am i looking
wat does the cab install, will it place the the icon in the lower taskbar? would a simple registry edit not do?
yes it do place the rotate icon in the tray. in the cab is a reg that do the job, but why should i make it with a reg editor if i can simply install this cabfile?
@tomcoleman Have you made a soft-reset?
The suggestion given are 2 ways of solving your problem. It's up to you which you think its easier.
Download broken any chance anyone can post it the other one doesnt wrk on my xda orbit, or does anyone know the reg keys ?
It seems some people still interested in this, so i corrected the link above, still works on WM5 and WM6. Happy rotating!

how can I reassign the GPS button?

greetings all,
Anyone knows how to reassign buttons? I want to make the gps button start another program, but it is not listed in the button reassignement utility that comes with WM6.
Cheers,
You must place a link to the program in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs first!
Then it'll appear in the programs list.
