I'm using the BA as a recording device using Luci software. It works well, as long as the InputGain setting is set 1 in the registry. However, whenever I run the camera app to film video, it resets this value to 60, which sets the audio level too high for Luci. Anyone know if there's any way of disabling this in the camera app?

Hello everyone - just thought i'd share something i've just found using the MX Player (video player).
Most of the time when playing videos using MX the volume is nice and loud - goes upto 15 on its scale and i'm happy!
However occasionally i'll download something with Tubemate/stick a dvd on the One X and the volume is low on playback - even when put to the max level of 15.
So i though i'd play with the settings and switched the decoder from hardware to S/W decoder and enabled fast mode too.
Now upon playback you can increase the volume level to 30! This isnt twice as loud as the '15' on the scale before but it certainly does boost 'quieter' videos to decent levels.
Just make sure you set the decoder to S/W as default - also if you touch the screen on playback you should have a read out at the top telling you which decoder it is currently using - even if you have just switched to S/W decoder as default then you might need to switch the particular video over to S/W manually as it doesnt appear automatic throughout.
All subsequent video should be played back using S?/W decoder from here though!
Hope this helps some of you guys out!
ITS available from long time just choose SW codec and u have volume uptil 30

doesn't playing in software mode (S/W) eat your battery ?
When I'm viewing videos in the standard video viewer and the Power saver is ON the brightness is too low. This started happening recently, I think after JB update.
Do you guys have the same problem? Is there a solution besides using another viewer of course?
Turn Auto-brightness off and set it at a point where comfortable for you?
I would suggest trying either MX Player or Mobo Player from the Play store both are free, and both have hardware / software support. You can control the brightness level in both apps, by swiping up and down on the left side of the screen. Hope this helps!
Hey Guys,
I have a question, me being lame tried to record a live set from a dj without the video (I did not want to separate the two) but the built in audio recorder records only in mono....
Is there any recording software which :
- Stereo
- uses the full capability of the Microphone(s)
Thanks in advance!
I bought this phone to record stereo audio, but am having the same problems.
Does it record stereo video?
Then why not stereo audio!?
It really bothers me that no one has ever found a way how to bypass the camcorder lock on the stereo microphones.
I tried ALL RECORDING APPS on the market. And with every possible setting!
Everything is always mono. Using just the bottom Mic.
I Even tried nTrack and Fruity Loops, Field Recorder, etc.
Only way to record HDR Stereo Sound is by using the original HTC Camcorder app in 720p (to save storage space) and then to copy the audio out using
a converter. (I always set saturation to black and white, Exposure down to -2 and fixate the focus on a bright light to keep the overall video black to just save more space)
I then use Media Coder on Windows, or the MP3 Video Converter app that comes with TubeMate. No need to convert the audio, it just takes the audio track out of video without doing any alterations.
But still a big Problem. The Camera app always turns up the Background Light to 100% by default (and you can't even manually turn it down) so it eats up your battery.
(Any other camera app on the market doesn't do stereo either)
And the MP4 Video Files are huge compared to the AAC audio files, so no possible way to record stuff that's longer than 4 hours (unless you have several SD Cards and a Power Outlet at hand.
PLEASE!! If Any Of You Pros Are Reading This! Help Us!!!
I think it shouldn't be too hard to tear down the pre installed HTC Camera app programming, to find the key for unlocking the ways of Stereo Recording of Audio Only.
If I only had any programming knowledge I would try it myself.
But I can't even write a Pong game...
Sorry for my poor English. International Duderino...
Can someone tell me in which file the display brightness (in general) is configured for this Head Unit?
I only need the path (filename)
I did many tests now with the app "Display Tester" from the playstore and compared it with my cellphone.
The difference is extreme.
First i could not believe that it's normal. So i bought the same Head Unit again. Same problem with the brightness.
The rear camera is almost not usable at the day because it's too dark.
If i want to watch videos they are usually too dark.
The problem is the brightness and contrast configuration of the radio
It's configured very bad!
In this test both displays (radio and my cellphone) are on maximum brightness 100% on this pictures
All pictures are from the app "Display Tester" from playstore
please see my pictures i attached
the interesting thing is:
I also tried it with some videos with the "reHuePlayer" from the playstore
This player overwrites the system configuration if i put the brightness to maximum
Then it's perfect!
So i need only the path and the name of the file where the maximum brightness (or contrast) is configured.
I would be appreciative for some help
I'm really wondering that most of the people here are satisfied with this bad display configuration.
To explain that it's only a software problem here two more pictures
One time i used a standard video player
The second time i used the "reHuePlayer" which overwrites the brightens configuration configured in the device
It's the only player i found on the market which can do that.
The problem is this player is not working so well because most of the videos are bucking and are not shown fluently
I played a documentation movie...
I did not connect my ILL cable and both times the display was on brightness 100%
So it's only a software problem which could be fixed very easy in a configuration file
(the biggest problem is driving with the rear camera... i see nearly nothing)
See my pictures attached
IIRC, you can change some of the brightness settings by echoing different values to one of the /sys nodes. I don't recall what it is, but if you do a find /sys -iname "*bright*" from terminal, it should reveal some items.
I have the same problem Color saturation Black the screen Car KLYDE Rk3188
I happening the same buy a Car DVD Player _Yaris and not see anything on the day but when I put reverse camera, please someone who can help solve this.
Hello
I own a Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 phone. My main purpose of using a smartphone is recording band rehearsals and some parts of live metal shows - that is in very, very loud environment. I have always had RIP Windows Phones and recording literally any loudness produced clean, non-distorted sound which could be then listened to without any problems. Even using lower-end Lumia 635.
As Windows Phone is dead, I was forced to switch to Android and I am extremely disappointed of Samsung's audio recording quality. For now - listening to recorded rehearsal is just impossible - recorded audio is one big distortion and - literally - I cannot figure out any single musical note or song I recorded. It is just impossible to hear anything.
I am a software developer and I do write Android applications, but after deep research - there is no any API for reducing microphone gain on system level, so I went further and found this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development/how-to-microphone-gain-increase-s5-t3190613
Reducing gain by this method is proven to work somewhere on youtube, but this method requires a root and I do not want to root my phone.
Does anyone of you know any methods, APIs, SDKs, undocumented manifest permissions, anything, that could allow access and modify file system/etc/mixer_paths.xml in order to reduce microphone gains?
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you
