"Can I flashing again from my sd?"
yes
you can sd flash it you can get a new rom here http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
also you may take care not to flash it with a 900/1900 radiostack if your device is a 900/1800 device

CRASH during ROM upgrade

I was upgrading to the latest version of LVSW when my computer crashed - it's froze at about 54%. I am using SPL (Bootloader) version 1.30.Olipro (HardSPL v4) and now my TYTN only shows the bootloader HERM200 - SPL-1.30.Olipro.
What should I do? Please help.
Paperweight comments are not welcomed
Jean
Jean,
Depending on how bad your situation is, this could involve some work. But at any cost, it would behoove you to actually read the wiki.
Just in case you have completely bricked your device, here is a link that should help you figure things out.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Unbrick
The wiki has help for all sorts of situations.
Just another comment though, it is really interesting that you said "Paperweight comments are not welcomed ". But if you do something and dont read the wiki to find answers for yourself (or at least appear to with the kind of posting you did), you will open yourself to comments like that or worse no comments at all.
More information
Here's more information:
1- only the bootloader appears
2- it cannot connect to activesync (so not sure how I can flash anything else as specified in the WIKI: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Unbrick)
3- I do not see any "No GSM" message
I am reading the WIKI and I'm a bit confused. I think since I'm using SPL-1.30.Olipro, I can Flash any NBH containing only OS and restore my OS. I'm able to access my device with mtty.exe - I extracted the latest .nbh from LVSW
Putting the LVSW nbh on a blank microSD card and naming it HERMIMG.nbh and restarting the system, did not do anything. I still see the bootloader. Should I use mtty.exe to try to re-install the latest ROM?
ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
Jean
with this metod select your rom and rename HERMIMG.nbh format your micro sd and put the file.
boot your hermes in boot loader with power(left)+ok(right)+soft reset the flash run.
if don't work please hard reset to try.
and if don't work too, download platform builder ce5 to boot your hermes and follow this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286755&page=39
work only if you KITL ENABLE (power+commanger+soft reset)
IF put KITL SELECT TRANSPORT it's ok if no , hard reset your hermes.
of RabanJr.
pb ce5 can do between 2go at 4go.

What software do I use to do this? First I tried using mtty.exe to access my device but it does not show a USB connection even though the TYTN is connected (I even hear a beep when I first connect it).
Would putting the LVSW nbh on the microSD card and naming it HERMIMG.nbh and restarting the system work? I just don't want to do something stupid without some confirmation from the experts out there.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

You really need to post this in the relevant thread sir, alot of people keep an eye on the thread and will offer the appropriate help. DONT DO ANYTHING if you need to ask if it will work, first read through the thread, post as instructed in the beginning of it and you will be guided through the unbricking process. I realise this isnt much help but if you do as i suggest you will learn from it aswell
Resolved
Ok thanks for the info. I managed to fix it using the method described in my previous post. I needed to format the MicroSD before placing HERMIMG.nbh on it and it worked flawlessly. Thanks.

Ipaq h1915 stuck while OS downloading in bootloder mode

Hello everyone..
I had a ipaq 1915 that was on spanish, so i needed to change the language to english.
As I have heard, this could be done only by rom reflashing into the pda.
Very well so far.... As I have searched on the net, I have found two ipaq 1915 working images, one on www.handheld.org at ftp://ftp.handhelds.org/feeds/wince/h1910/wince_1915_eng.zip
and the other one at a bulgarian site, at the url http://pocketz.dl1.vipserver.ru/2006/08/roms/ipaq_1915.rar
I had managed to enter bootloader mode (but don't know how to exit it ( )
I have unpacked the zips and written both images in the SD card using raw mode, with several tools like winhex, dd, XDArit etc..
this occurs without problems so far..
I insert the 512 MB SD card in the pda, stopped wcescomm.exe (activesync), run mtty, show port.
I press enter, I get USB> as i should
commands work generally, so first I try sd2r , downloading from the sd card to the rom...
The bootloader download takes place without problem, but then the pda prompts: OS' downloading, first progress bar at full, second one stuck at 0...
So it never moves, the mtty gets a | and that's it, it's stuck there for hours...
I have tried r2sd, that works without problem, it says complete, hard reset it, but when I try to sd2r, it's the same problem as above..
HELP PLEASE ! I'm stuck in this crappy bootloader... Could my image downloads from those url-s have gotten corrupted? Can you send some md5 hash for the files?
Does someone else have a valid rom image?
Thank you in advance.....
Doesen't anybody know a solution? could the bootloader have taken some errors? I have tried both 1.02 and 1.10 versions...
What cand I do?
What OS version is this image in?
How can I find out? it's WM2002 for ipaq h1915...
It's the one taken from www.handhelds.org... However it stucks simmilary for every image....
I have even tried the image for h1910.... It makes the same problem..
It's the image's fault or the bootloader could have been damaged? What can I do?
HELPPP ON THIS...
Doesen't anyone know?
Should I try JTAG reflashing? I found a pdf showing how to make a cable... I could make that, but would it make any sense? can I flash the entire rom through JTAG, including bootloader + OS without annoying stuck?
thank you and I think I will try this because I have no other sollution.....
try this one
http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=213467
if you fill like trying Something else (you know 2002 os ..) but you can also break your ppc is to try update it with the 4150 rom
you can find it on hp site ,can be interesting
(i know your device has only ir)
any way good luck
Can the jtag be used to flash both os and bootloader or just bootloader?
Could it be possible that after reflashing, the ipaq 1915 enters dirrectly windows, or only the bootloader may be reflashed throught jtag?
thank you for any answers.....

Request from a Linux user - Flashing without MS Windows

HI everybody
Like other people on this forum, i'm a linux user
I'm working under Ubuntu Hardy Heron. It's impossible to run any RUU under this system using WINE ( Software than give the possibility to run windows apps under linux ) because it need an active sync connection witch also don't work.
So my request is the following: Can we have a ROM Update utility for our cheer Penguin ?
Big thanks to all developers that works so hard for our community
you and me both: i'm on Linux Mint 5, though
i don't think it's a problem of the people on here: i say it's microsoft's refusing to release drivers for activesync...
There have been attempts made, but i don't know if any of them are going to work with these newer devices... Try googling SynCE...
Hello penguin's friend
SynCE is hard to configure...
But the question is not about synchro, but for ROM updating.
Okay Microsoft is radin... But for upgrading we only need an USB connection for data transfer through the hard SPL.
Activesync is only necessary to retrieve informations from the PDA during an update procedure ( Rom version for example ).
But the flashing procedure doesn't require it ! the prove: when we lunch this procedure the active sync connection stops and the SPL appears on the PDA's screen.
Here is my idea to make it possible under Linux : Run manually SPL on the PDA, and start flashing directly (with USB connection only).
In fact, we only need a ROM Update Utility that pass-through device information retrieving step ( is it really important? ). May be it can works.
All of this could run with wine. But I still think that a native linux RUU is the best way to explore.
There still exist a linux RUU update program (I don't remeber where, but if you make a search into this forum you can find it).
The matter is another one...our diamond don't use the common way to establish a connection with the laptoop ( /ttyUSB0) and so, till now, it's impossible to update...we have to find a workaround for this issues...
I don't understand...
It's the SPL that give necessary connection (usb/serial). Is the problem from it ?
Exactly
Take a look: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410302
By searching, i found a solution by flashing from a SD card with a special SPL.
Its solution was developed for ARTHEMIS PDA here : http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_SD_Card_Flashing
Do you think this SPL could work on our diamond ( we don't have SD Card but internal storage ).
I'm afraid to try it. My be it can crash my device permanently ...

GREAT ! i go take a look
Sers,
for Linux, HTC Flasher from the link in previous post is what you need.
It's working well for much HTC devices but Diamond still got some connection issues. It doesn't get attached to any serial port in SPL Mode, so flashing via Linux seems impossible.
Even flashing throught Virtualbox doesn't work because it's impossible to attach the device to the VM.
Maybe you're gonna find a solution, let's hope.

There you're wrong.
Take a look here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
In this thread a guy manage to flash Diamond via USB.
OK I have the solution !
It's very simple and don't need any computer!
BE CAREFUL BEFORE STARTING TO HAVE GOOD BATTERY !!!
Install Olinex hard SPL
Connect your PDA to linux in USB Disk mode
Simply copy your .nbh file into internal memory in root folder. rename it to DIAMIMG.NBH
Reset your device with pressing volume down and right key.
You will enter in Olinex SPL flash mode. Wait two seconds and it will ask you if you want to flash from DIAMIMG.nbh !!!
Thanks everybody for your help.
I think this solution is the more simple !
Congrats! Nice find!
This will make things much easyer for many ppl!
regards
demacus
it's much faster than trought async... always used this trick, the only thing to REALLY pay attention to have at least 40/50% of battery
All Right !
Is the file still there afterwards?
Nice find.
Possible to choose from more files?

Well.....The file need that specific name.
You CAN transfer other files and name them, but you wont get a "menu" for choosing.
Just turn to your friend, and use his computer that runs Windows.

Original Vodafone SPL (warranty)

Hello,
I've got an touch diamond with hard spl and windows mobile 6,5... but today my touch screen doesn't react on touching anymore so I need to send it for warranty. I had an backup of my original spl but I lost it installing windows 7...Now I need an original spl for my vodafone phone... Maybe someone can help me with this(I'm from holland don't know if that matters for the version of the spl...)
already many thanks...
Erick
Try searching on the Vodafone website for a Rom for your device, if you are able to find it then flash it, it will install the rom and radio, but the SPL will remain HardSPL. As the final step when you have your stock rom flashed is the SPL flashing, the SPL can be extracted from the Vodafone rom package with "nbh extract"... when you will have it follow the steps in the HardSPL thread where you can find the way to flash the original SPL...
Allright, I installed a new firmware from the internal storage because my touch screen doesn't work... now the only thing i need is the original bootlader. I tried nbh extract but it doesn't work on my windows? (windows 7) here is the link to my original rom http://www.vodafone.nl/Vodafone/wg2...igned_Diamond_52.44.25.24_1.08.25.08_Ship.exe
maybe someone can help me how to install the bootloader...(again I have no touchscreen anymore
regards and thanks already
heres how i envisage doing it.
you need to run jumpspl on your phone. I guess you can still run an OS and execute apps using the navi pad and action key.
if you have done the jumspl correctly your screen will rurn blank connect your phone to your PC and then you can flsh the original spl back!
i attach the jumpspl with instructions as well as the SPL.nb file extracted from the ROM which you posted the link to.
i did not recreate it as an nbh file as i do not know what model ID, country ID,Version and language your phone, is may be some one else can tell you! or if you tell me can build a flashable nbh for you!
i ask can some one else to please verify this procedure first, before you attempt doing it!
Well great thanks for the help but maybe you can make a flash file for me...the next thing is the problem, windows is installed and when you want to start windows you will need to tap te screen to run the standard procedure to allign the screen and set the date...I can't do this without touch and so i can't load any apllications how do i find the info that you need?regards
Can anyone tell me where to find:
ID, country ID,Version of my HTC touch Diamond??(without touch screen)
regards
alrright the next things i've found hope that it helps for creating a nbh file for my spl instead of the hardspl...
Country - The Netherlands
Dutch Language
Rom1.93
DIAM100
FCDID:NM8DMS
ok ive done it with the info you gave but i also used some of the generic info like Moel ID= Diam**** .... etc
the nbh is built but you should get confirmation off some one else before you proceed! i take no responsibility ! hope this helps
can somebody check/confirm this? Already many thanks! regards Erick
allright i installed it but it doesn't work still have got olinex spl...at this moment active sync is working maybe someone can help me out now?
regards
it wont work until you run jump sl properly! jump spl overides the write restrictions on the spl!
if you run jump sply correctly the screen will go blank as soon as you execute it!
then connect you usb cable and flash! (whilstthe screen is blank)
already thanks for the great help, JUMPSPL is running! now i try to install the rom with customruu and then copy the nhb you made for me in the same directory..only it still stays on olinex
CustumRUU says it is installed correctly and that it's finished...I think Jump SPL isnt working like it should, the screen is not turning black but it says that i can install the spl...I think the problem is that i can't alling the screen and windows is not fully loaded yet..?
regards
mmm, the problem is jum spl alright! im sorry i dont have a solution for you may be some one else can help! try searching i quiet sure i have read similar problems elswhere!
yeah the problems are there enough but no sollutions to it...I need the following thing...In the startup folder of windows mobile there is the welcome screen, i wan't to delete it so maybe i can go throug loading windows and then i maybe can load the jump spl...just to skip the allignment of the screen...but when i want to delete the files it says that i've got no autohority, also not with total commander, maybe someone knows anything to delete the files with active sync..?
regards and many thanks already to idristo

If the .nbh file is named DIAMIMG.nbh then you can directly flash from internal storage without connecting to a pc.
If all you did was a hard rest it then it should boot...
Have you followed the MTTY tutorial? I Advise you do this as a last resort to flash from your vista machine if you cannot get it working using the posts above mine.
Whats the error when you turn on the phone?
How did you perform a hard reset? (what buttons did you press..)
its now sorted thanks for your help guys.
