[WM5]Wireless Manager Inside - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Well, i've grabbed the wireless manager from the universal but there's a little fix
For now it only shows the right status for the phone (fligh mode on off) doesn't control the wireless on/off neither the bluetooth on/off, but goes to the right settings.
Once again, if there's someone that can give a little help :>
For now this doesn't help anything, but i'm trying to get it working, if you don't know how to install don't ask, this wasn't meant to you.
When it's ready i'll make a .cab and then you can install it.
This also updates the wifi manager.

Is there any progress with this wireless manager...? By the way... is there any chance to extract the SIM Toolkit manager from HTC Universal...?

Yes is possible.
Download a full rom (like the italian one).
Launch the full upgrade with the phone disconnected
kill the mirage client with the task manger
You will find the rom splitted in 3 files on the C:\ directory.
Copy the _phone.bin file somewhere.
Then relaunch the mirage client and choose to flash the pone part only with the above file.
You will need the smsung generic modem drivers (the ones for the i600 or i607 are ok) to flash the phone section.
hi,
in my case i780 connect on wifi but internet explorer don't work.
It only works when i an on data provider.
Thank you for that tip Solutor,
I will give it a try now.
BTW - is the Italian ROM newer then mine?
mine is -
PDA: i780DXHA1
PHONE: i780DXGL2
And, why if so, wy don't I install the italiam ROM as a whole (not just the radio part) and then add my languages?
and ...will it affect the Radio of the GPS as well?
Amazing!
You have solved my problem!
Thank you!
I have been working on this for a week now, and finally...you came up with it
3G is working and now even the GPS is showing some "living symoptoms" ( I still have to play with it more).
Cheers
Me too i have flashed the radio and the wifi works
I can now confirm that the device works flawlessly !
GPS hooks up in a few seconds (after an initial 5 minutes for the first time) and everything works superb! no third parties (port Splitter, GPSGate, etc.) required!
Soluter - you made my day!

Ive just tried to get the _phone part from the italian newer rom but as soon as i kill the mirage service all 3 files from the c:\ drive vanish too
Do you have any ideas as to what the problem could be?
thanks

Kill mirage from the process tab, not from the application tab.
Another way is flashing the whole italian rom, then flashing back the english one (as the one that is lying around is the pda part only)
BTW, I'm trying to upload somewhere the splitted rom, stay tuned!

Thanks for your quick reply. When you say turn the phone off do you mean switch to flight mode i,e, leave the device on? I did that but still get the waiting for device....
All I did was select the _phone file and click detect. Do I need to do anything else? Do I need select anything in the Loader section?? Sorry - I'm not finding as easy as flashing my HTC Touch!
no actually switch the phone off...select the phone part of the rom and then connect the phone and it should auto start flashing

#1 reason is probably the force CDMA command in the startup.txt. If you're CDMA, you need it to =1, if you're GSM you need it to =0. Check that & get back to us.
thnx for helping
that was the problem
i am having ths same issue with sprint. Ive tried to check and uncheck the force cdma and neither work. Where do i actually look to see it its set to 0?

You are on Sprint, so Force CDMA=1. Also probably the number one reason you have no service is the SIM card is still in. Remove the SIM and re-try Android.

I have tried removing the sim card in the past and i tried again. now what happens is that with force cdma checked it keeps trying to connect and then disconnects 20 seconds later over and over. I try to access the wireless networks settings but because it keeps disconnecting it goes back so it doesnt have achance to search for wireless networks.
If i dont force cdma then nothing happens and when i search for wireless networks it just keeps and searching but nothing happens. any help would be appreciated.
So wifi has nothing to do with CDMA/GSM... Typically wifi gets hosed from people who update their zImage but not their modules - they go hand-in-hand and while you can run without the modules, stuff like wifi won't work at all.

Ok you're still not being clear.
I assume your issue is you can't connect to the internet via the cell radio? Thru Sprint's network instead of wifi?
Can you make/receive calls? If so, data *should* just connect, assuming you're using relatively new stuff. A while ago you had to create an APN manually to connect, but that shouldn't be the case any more...

You don't want to know what I pay...
So I'm not sure how to explain this. Your startup.txt is a file you edit - where you run haret.exe from?
It sounds like you installed the cab, which unfortunately means you probably know nothing about how the system is put together, even at a high-level. Which is a shame...
With that said, assuming you're running v1.3 of the startup app, it should work fine. I cannot, and will not support that app. If you need support for that app, please go to sov's thread on the application.
If you want help on XDAndroid, then we can help... but we encourage you to search, read, research, search again, read some more, do a little more research, and then you may be ready to post. Maybe.

WiFi - bcm4329.ko file?

Hey I have a desire Z and my logcat says that the Wifi driver isnt loading. I want to replace it with one that works so my wifi actually turns on.
If you have a bcm4329.ko for the desire z could you please let me know?
Thanks
Isn't that file subject to the kernel you're running? Or are you stock and just looking for the stock bcm file also?

Yeah I think it is normally part of a kernel but I cant seem to get this damn wifi to work no matter what I do, so I was thinking if anyone had one of the files kicking around I would just ADB overwrite the old one and see if it works.
Try flashing one of the kernels in my signature -- they both include a corresponding WiFi driver.

you can always jus download a rom and go to the folder where its located and take it out and push it in your phone instead of waiting for some one

Im sure you done this already but some one is bound to ask, so ask now.

Yep, tried that twice. I even went back to stock between the reload.
One time I flashed it using the PC10IMG method and the other I used Clockwork (rom manager).
I really have no idea where to go at this point. I think I've exhausted all my ideas. Ive tried reflashing roms, kernels, and radios.
Was hoping someone had some diagnostic software that would test the hardware of the phone or something so at least then I would know if my actual hardware for the WiFi and Bluetooth was shot or not.
Thanks anyways.
Wow, I forgot about this thread over the weekend
Anyway, have you tried changing the permissions for the file? You can use 'fix permissions' in ROM Manager or clockwork or use Root Explorer to change the permissions. Of course if you're a terminal kind of guy you can chmod it.
Sometimes the permissions don't set correctly or, on some systems running linux, the permissions get changed for some reason. Maybe that's what's going no here, sounds like it anyway. Btw, make sure to reboot after changing the permissions because it won't work until you do.
has anyone fixed this issue where wifi stops working?
wifi not turning ON
Hello Everyone,
During the process of getting IP address from WiFi network, I received a "Error Massage" on my Alcatel OT-990. After this massage, WiFi started behaving abnormally. Sometimes it turned ON another time it did not. Now after a few weeks later, WiFi is not turning ON at all.
I have Tried following Solutions but nothing worked:
1. Did factory reset, erased system, cache etc and Flashed different ROMs (JB ot 990, ICS QME, QLTsar, 2.3.4, Telenor One touch 4.0.04) using Recovery many a times(From different Sources).>>Problem not solved
2. Updated my phone using alcatel update manager to 2.3.4>>> Problem not solved
3. Tried by changing permissions of BCM4329.KO, wpa_supplicant.confg etc every file related to wifi/wlan>>Problem not solved
4. Used WiFix Manager>>>Problem not solved.
Bluetooth and FM radio working all right.
If anybody knows about its solution ..please help me out.

[MOD][Sense 5]Bluetooth Mod/Fix

Ok, long story short, after the Sense 5 update, the Bluetooth was completely messed up for me. Not only did the "Visible to All Devices" option never stick with each consecutive toggle, it never seemed to work or pair correctly with any other device and required me to constantly un-pair said device and re-pair it. This plagued me for a while till I was playing around with the Bluetooth configs in the system while working on my ROM. What I did was essentially edit the configs to make the settings stick.
IMPORTANT
When I tested it on my ROM, I lost the ability to make Bluetooth "Only Visible to Paired Devices" and could only switch between "Visible to nearly all devices" and "Never visible" or something similar. However, when I created a flashable zip and tried it on ARHD, everything worked fine with no missing options. Remember, anything could go wrong. I ended up with missing options, you may end up with crippled Bluetooth altogether. Always make a backup or have a ROM zip lying around to reflash in case of emergency
What does this MOD do ?
1. Makes sure toggles such as "Visible to nearly all devices" sticks after toggling Bluetooth On/Off
2. Fixes any Bluetooth issues when switching Bluetooth On/Off such as device connecting errors like I faced
3. Less issues when using A2DP (doesn't require constant un-pairing and re-pairing to make it work like it did most of the time)
Intructions
1. Download the ZIP
2. Make a backup (unless you have the balls to go through with no backup plan )
3. Flash the ZIP
Optional - 4. Wipe dalvik cache & cache
5. Reboot and enjoy
Download MOD
Download Rollback zip to undo chnages
Uses in other ROMs
ROM devs and chefs alike are allowed to use this MOD in their work. You don't need to drop me a PM or anything, just give credits and link this thread in your Changelogs to avoid issues with my MOD cluttering up your ROM thread.
Notes
1. I made this MOD to solve a problem I faced with Sense 5. It has solved my problem, it may solve yours too if you have the same. If it doesn't, refrain from posting negative posts here.
2. This is the first time I've attempted tampering with the system configs to such a degree to fix a problem such as this. If you feel there are ways I can improve on this MOD, please feel free to advise me or give suggestions.
3, If you face any issue, be patient with me. Like I said, this is my first time attempting something like this and I only succeeded by sheer luck.
I will get around to making a rollback zip for this MOD to save you guys the time and trouble of making backups till then, hope this helps
I would like to try this as A2DP usually fails to connect for me. I have to open up bluetooth settings, disable media streaming and then re-tick it to get it working which is inconvenient.
Could you upload it to a site that I don't have to sign up to to download? Thanks

Thanks mate but I flashed the zip and sadly it didn't fix my connection error. Do I have to delete and re-add my bluetooth adaptor? I didn't get chance to try this earlier.

Help forcing file transfer with broken screen

Like the title says, my wife's 6645L has a shattered screen and I'm trying to pull some files off of it. She rarely plugged it up to a pc so I have no idea what it's set to do.
I know it's working as we heard notifications and rings before we switched phones but that's all I know. When I plug it up to the pc, nothing happens.
Anyone know of a way to force it into a file transfer?
