Bluetooth Upgrade for Siemens SX66 ??? - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Is it possible to upgrade the BT ver? SX66 has 1.0 and just isn't worth using.

Siemens website
chammj,
Have you tried the Siemens website? It has a ROM update (1.33.11) for the SX66, which according to them it fixes some issues with BT. I do not use any BT device, so I do not know how good/bad it is. If you want to, give it a shot. I thought I might drop a line and try to help out a little.
Good luck and let me know how it turns out

If you want to keep yor SX66 up-to-date the best way is to visit the SX66 (Blue Angel) Standardization Project page - http://sx66-blueangel.home.comcast.net/

Thanks
I have the latest ver update from Siemens

ROM update (1.33.11) Fixed Bluetooth Problem?
Hi chammj, did you install it?
I'd install the Standardization Project from http://sx66-blueangel.home.comcast.net/ but it doesn't make any diferese on the bluetooth. But I like it.
I just read of a Simens ROM update (1.33.11) for the SX66 but I don't know if I should change the update.
There is some one who had try the 2 of them?

The Simens' "Official" ROM 1.33.11 is not worth it. You won't see any improvement in the BT neither. I'd say stick with the latest updates from http://sx66-blueangel.home.comcast.net/.
I personally have on my SX66 now:
ROM version 1.40.00 WWE
ROM date 03/10/05
Radio version 1.13.00
Protocol version 1337.42
ExtROM version 1.40.125 WWE
And besides... I don't think Simens plans to do any updates any time soon. So SX66 Standardization Project is the way to go.

rom update

I'am new to all this and was wondering if its worth updating my XDA IIs these are the settings
Rom Version 1.31.00 WWE
Rom date 12/13/04
Radio Version 1.06.00
protocol version 1337.38
ExRpm Version 1.31.139 WWE
Could anyone let me know if there are any benefits, also how easy is it to update, ie can anyone explain in basic terms as I have never done this sort of thing before, also if it all went wrong what would be the worst case senario.
Is there a simple program that does all updates?
Thanks in advance
Hi Popupstands
I upgraded mine a few weeks ago from the O2 ROM like yours to the config detailed below. Have found that this ROM is a bit more stable and has better control over wi fi switching than my old one. still have the same old bluetooth connection problems. You will also have to modify the below EXTENDED ROM to replace the caller ID file with an older version to avoid GPRS disconnect problems...
before you do anything, you should read ALL the INFO at following wiki link
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel
On a practical note, if you are reasonably happy with the stabilty of your device then the upgrade may not be worth it for you. I believe the official O2 rom update is imminent, so you may want to wait for that..
Hope that helps
Regards
Chris

XDA 2s Firmware 28th Feb 2005 / WM5 NOOB.

NOOB QUESTIONS
Looking on www.o2.co.uk site i got this firmware dated 28th Feb 2005.
v1.31.139 are:
O2 Active v3.6:
I'm sure I have a June 2005 link to newer firmware. Just checked with FINDUS he recommend iMate 1.40 FW and or WM5 beta
Is the new firmware for XDA an MSN PPC2003 / WM5 upgrade? or a specific chip software rewrite with nothing to do with MSN PPC2003 / WM5? or both?
Which firmware works best with WM5? for UK o2 XDA2s?
or would it be better to wait for the WM5 BUGS to be ironed out and install firmware best suited to latest PocketPC2003? if so what firmware is best for PPC2003 and where can i get that?
Will WM5 work with: TOMTOM5 navigator, PocketMusic, Pocket Skype? and will it generaly be ok for one year old software? many thanks choppidge.
Hi,
You sound a bit confused! The O2 official update on their website is probably the operating system you are running right now. It is WM 2003 SE 1.31 and is an older version than the imate 1.40, which has the later bluetooth stack and windows mobile 10 built in. The wm5 for blueangel is getting a lot more stable now, but it still has too many bugs for me so I am sticking with the imate 1.40 ROM. O2 have yet to release a 1.40 version of the ROM, although they are supposed to be doing so soon, with Blackberry support as well, but don't hold your breath for an official WM2005 ROM from O2, it almost certainly will not happen.
Hope this helps,
Fin
Yes I am confused! but slowly i am learning, thanks for your help. I hope to upgrade today hopefully not to a paper weight, I have backed up everything so dont mind trying a few different ROMs, I will be reading the wiki very carefuly.
I will be using Skype which comes supplied with imate 1.40 ROM.
I need to learn how to stream audio via a random Wifi connection.
I will be using WMP10 and PocketMusic also TOMTOM5 and a good Icon Bar / Task Manager. Upgrades or downgrades to camera software may be needed.

hmmm, im not sure, cant remember but i think that settings will be saved!
I have a Jasjar, which was running:
ROM version 1.13.53 WWE
Radio version 1.03.01
ExtROM version 1.13.137 WWE
I ran the radio-only upgrade, which errored the first time but ran without problem the second time. After a soft reset, I now have:
ROM version 1.13.53 WWE
Radio version 1.04.02
ExtROM version 1.13.137 WWE
All my settings/hacks were retained and no information was lost. The radio appears to be stable.
Hi, Sorry... im posting a newbie question... please ignore if "beneath" you...
Im confused on the "radio" upgrade thing. I mean, is this really the radio that we know of (FM/AM)? Why the need for upgrade? How do i make the radio work then?
Laugh all you want, read all your posts and i still dont get it.
The "radio" portion of the Jasjar is the phone/gprs componentry. The rest of the Jasjar is the PDA componentry. Because, theoretically at least, WM5 products can be PDA-only and because the radio portion of WM5 products can vary widely (differing standards for various parts of the world), the firmware is released in two parts: the base operating system for the PDA and the radio subsystem addition for the phone/gprs functions. This explanation is somewhat broad, and not 100% accurate, but hopefully provides some clarification.
can i use this to update my orange spv m5000? or is there another version for it..\
cheers
ok i've tried several times now and its not working.....
its not working for my spv m5000 either

Thanks for the explanation.. that was tech101 for me I get it now.. It's the "phone" part then.. upgrading the radio might have something to do with connecting wifi, bt etc... and i really though i could tune in to my favorite radio station.. haha
Thanks a heap!

You are welcome. BTW, something like this http://www.dealsonic.com/csdsedifmstr.html would add AM-FM capability to a Jasjar if WM5 drivers are available. Note though that it would seriously truncate battery life.
FYI, the SD-Radio is the older model.
Take a look at the sleeker SD-Radio2...

Benefit of Radio 1.04 over 1.03?
Just got my i-mate jasjar. Wondering about upgrades but it seems to work and if it aint broke, dont fix it!!
For those who have flashed from 1.03 to 1.04, what improvements were there?
Thanx
I just updated my 1.03.00 to 1.04.10 on my Qtek 9000
The biggest improvement is the time from hitting the 'pick-up' button to the connection being established. On the older version, this took about 5-7 seconds.... on new version, this happens instantly.
Maybe it's just me, but i think the sound quality of the phonecall is improved too.
Post deleted as I managed to upgrade the radio stack successfully to 1.04.10
cheers guys

hi,
i have followed the instruction to upgrade the bluetooth stack. however the ms stack still there. now i got two bluetooth icons in my connection setting. help me.
thanks
Well, I have found the latest version (I hope) in the XDA-Developer's FTP.
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/CAB_Files/Bluetooth Upgrades/
It's a cab file so the installation was very easy.
MrPhilly, thanks for the help.
Anyway, is there anyway to check this version (1.6.0.600) including A2DP or not?
And are there any BT headset can do both:
1. listen to musics
2. talk on the phone

Need I-Mate Bluetooth Patches for PDA2K

Hello
I have a Siemens SX66 with the much talked about Bluetooth issues I'm trying to resolve:
1. BT Activesync connection cuts out when uploading/downloading
2. BT connection cuts out when connected to my HF820 BT Moto Speakerphone
I'm attributing this to problem of the PDA going into "sleep" mode. I heard clubimate.com has the BT patches but I cannot register on the website because I have a Siemens and not an I-Mate PDA. Please, if you can provide a link to the patches (all other links I've found on this site or web have been dead) or if you could email me the .cab file. I would really appreciate it - [email protected]
Unless of course you think it may be another problem.
I am most appreciative.
Nick
Clubimate published "PDA2k UniDirectional Patch.sa.cab", it is for 1.40 ROM or older. This is for resolving problem with no sound when someone calls/you calls someone disappeared. I've never heard abut BT updates from Clubimate.
I have a BroadcomCorp_BT1.0.0.3900.cab and can send it to you. What is your version of BT?
Yes. Supposedly this Clubimate produced patch solves a lot of BT issues. Please, see the following links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=14277
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=73927
But like I said all the links are dead and I can't get an account on clubimate.
BT Build 3900 would be great! [email protected]
Rom version: 1.40.00 WWE
Radio version 1.15.00
