Bluetooth headset audio streaming issue

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes.
I recently bought an inexpensive bluetooth headset from Germany, and I've been trying to get it to work with my phone (HTC Magician, O2 branded, recent firmare) for audio streaming. It works fine for calls, but I'd like to get all the audio from the magician to stream to the headset. I've downloaded and installed the new bluetooth stack from here, and that got me a little further than before. However, whenever I try to play some audio (for example, through WMP), it fails to connect to the headset for streaming, and tells me so. In the control panel, I'm unable to select my headset on the audio tab as the default device, because it doesn't show up in the list. Ideas, anyone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
try going into bluetooth pref. then click and hold on your device name until it pops up and select edit. then check the boxes for the headset service you want to use
All I get on the edit screen is the box to change the device's display name, and a cancel button.
EDIT: my firmware versions are as follows:
R 1.12.00
G 1337.42
D 1.13.00 WWE
Also, I have applied the BigStorage hack.
EDIT 2: It seems I have a headset that doesn't support A2DP, so I'm not sure if it's at all possible to stream non-phone-call audio into it. I should have read further into the above-linked thread before posting; sorry.
Anyway: is it possible to stream audio to a non-A2DP headset? (help still greatly appreciated )

Downgrade BT stack?

Hi there,
I have HTC Universal and Dell BH-200 stereo bluetooth headset.
Situation:
- WM5 ROM (for example newest KDSkamal) - after a bit of fiddling A2DP works, also HS profile is working
- WM6 ROM (for example Tomal's 8.5, 8.2) - A2DP works after fiddling, unfortunately HS profile's not working - headset turns itself off after 5-10 second of call, during which nothing can be heard
- WM6 ROM + Broadcomm stack - A2DP works flawlessly, HS doesn't.
From what I know, no WM6 device works correctly with Dell BH-200. It's interesting though, that WM5 devices appear to work. Also, I've read here that Broadcomm stack doesn't support HS profile, so out of luck here.
Now, I was trying to just overwrite WM6 BT stack dll's with ones taken from WM5, but it didn't work either - maybe that's because I was doing it rather randomly, without solid knowledge of the matter.
As I see many skilled hackers here, maybe someone would take his/hers time to help me out a bit and figure what has to be done to have working WM5 BT stack on WM6 device?
So I've done some primitive hacking, here are the results. I've been using files extracted from newest T-Mobile WM5 ROM, on my device there is Tomal's 8.5.
First, I just used every bth* dll file I could find and overwritten ones in Windows folder:
bthutil.dll
bthusb.dll
bthuniv.dll
bthuart.dll
bthsc.dll
bthlink.dll
bthidsvc.dll
bthhid.dll
bthcsr.dll
bthasplugin.dll
bthamb.dll
BthAGPhonebook.dll
btdrt.dll
btd.dll
btagsvc.dll
btagext.dll
After this, Uni wasn't even able to turn on GSM - no idea why.
Then I tried with just
BluetoothSetting.dll
btagsvc.dll
btagext.dll
Much better stereo - it works now, before there were lots of noise; also, headphones no longer switch off when receiving phone call; unfortunately, no handsfree support.
Will try more...
OK, false alarm - just found out that I need to force pairing from the headset (using Play/Pause button) and the A2DP works, even without replacing btag[svc|ext].dll. After this sequence A2DP works, but Handsfree doesn't (but at least it doesn't turn off the headphones)
maybe some reason
i have special infomration ..
I have TOmals ROM and i found this ...
if i will turn first bluetooth on my Uni and then i switch on my headpohones - everything works great. Also in my car parrot works perfect - A2DP and also i HF ...
If i will start bluetooth after bluetooth in car or headphones ... then A2DP makes sound pause ... and HF is not so clearly as usually ...
i dont know why .. but it works like this ...so try to switch BT on pohoen first and thne accesorries and youll see ...
Bye
I tried that, but to no avail.
But now the fun part started: if I extract files from Tomal's ROM nbf, they are in different size that the ones _from the same ROM_, just installed on Uni. Even better, if I overwrite installed ones with extracted ones, radio, SD, camera and so on stops working. I wonder where is connection between SD, camera, USB connection and bluetooth...
Now I replaced only btagext.dll (however, I think that all this replacing effects only in disabling replaced dlls...) and best thing I achieved is that
- A2DP works almost flawlessly with Dell BH200 (if I keep correct order of switching devices on)
- HFP works with second device, Sony Ericsson HBH-PV708 (had to disable HFP profile in BH200)
Audio switches when receiving phone call.
Obviously, that's not the best solution (far from it), but it's at least something...

[REQ] Audio Stream via Bluetooth Handsfree?

Hi,
I am looking for a way to stream audio from the Touch HD to my Car. Unfortunately the cars built-in audio system doesn't support bluetooth. But there is that handsfree-thing, which works really great with calls. So I wondered, if there is a software solution that streams my music from the phone as "incoming call" to my car?
I've tried "acbToggleBT" and "BTASP" and both didn't work in the Car, but they did work with a bluetooth headset.
It would be really great if somebody knows, finds, posts, programs or has an solution.
Thanks in advance!

I can't remember but there was an option to route normal audio to the bluetooth handset in my HP iPAQ which is missing from HD.
Believe me music streaming to HSF device will be as good as listening to AM radio on poor reception. Go get a bluetooth A2DP profile audio headunit like Sony - MEX-BT2500 (this is the one I use and works like a charm).
Thanks for your reply.
Perhaps I took the wrong words to explain what I am looking for.
The thing I want is a piece of software that "imitates" an incoming call and sends the audio from S2P to the handsfree of my car.
Maybe this explanation is a bit better...?
[edit]
have you tried BT Audio
it's a paid app
acbToggleBT always worked for me
try this
There are 3 apps
btaudio on
btaudio off
bttoogle (on/off)

Excellent. I can get this to work via bluetooth headset.
Unfortunatley this didn't work in my car (which is what I believe the OP wants).

I use this application, works terrific!!.......enjoy
ausi - does this work on a car stereo i.e. does it emulate an incoming phone call?

All i can say is this based on using it on my HD with WM 6.1 & 6.5 (Dutty ROM):
Once you install the program and then execute it (Press On):
It will transfer all Music & Audio from Movies (Core Player) etc. to my BT Nokia Headset or my BT Car Speakerphone (Motorola T305), i do not have a Radio BT set so i can't tell you, you'll just have to try.
This Cab solved my problem as the basic BT HD ROM sertting only transfers the Phone audio while this little cab transfers ALL audio, so i would presume that it may help you with your BT radio, you can always uninstall the cab if it doesn't work for you.
There is NO emulation invloved here!!??
Good luck!
Hi Ausi, tried on my Nokia BT car handsfree but no joy
The handsfree only accepts an incoming call as stated above so some sort of emulation may be needed. Would be happy if someone knew about something...

Funny... my HD does the reverse. I get de BT audio but on the BT phone I got nothing but static...
I've got a Sony Xplod bluetooth radio in my car.
When I start up it automatically connects to my HD, however it only connects as handsfree rather than both handsfree and BT stereo.
I have to go into comms manager and bluetooth settings, then select and hold on the xplod in the device list.
A menu comes up asking what I'd like to connect as, and I pick stereo, then repeat for handsfree.
Give that a go. Holding on the device to bring up the menu gives you the BT profiles the device is capable of, so with a bit of luck stereo/headphones will be an option for you.

Best bluetooth support AOSP rom?

I'm currently using AOKP and am having issues with stability when using Pandora over the Pioneer link to my new head unit. It works, but if I try to skip a song, my phone freezes up and eventually reboots itself. I'm pretty sure its because of issues with these protocols support so I was wondering if there was an AOSP rom that has really good bluetooth support. The protocols it needs is:
A2DP profile for audio streaming.
AVRCP profile for audio control (track metadata available on 2013 and 2012 AVIC and AVH models with AVRCP 1.3).
SPP (Serial Port Profile) for full, on-screen control of Pandora® internet radio and Aha™ Radio (for Navigation receivers)apps when installed on Android device. Please check the owner's manual of your Pioneer receiver to verify compatibility with the Bluetooth SPP profile.
Does any of that make sense? Would I have better luck with just standard CM10?
